Unfortunately I will have to give this a bad review. It wasn't clean, no soap, very little toilet paper, Air conditioning, only the hot water worked, the tub was gross. It needs to be remodeled and fixed up. The communication and key details were frustrating. The place could be fixed up and would be good given the location and fix the check in information.
Wow! Listen I stay at plenty of motel 6, hotel 8 etc. However, this was a very strange experience overall from start to finish. First of all we tried to reach out to the owner through phone email and text. No responses at all. Next. We never got check in instructions. The same day we were to arrive we finally heard back with one simple message. Get key from pizza place. When I went to the pizza place to get the key, everyone acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Which was strange because finally someone produced a key from a drawer full of keys.
Next, the place was represented as a two bedroom place. When we arrived with our party of five there was indeed only one bedroom and technically not a bedroom just a studio. There was no shower curtain there was no soap in the bathroom. The deadbolt on the door was broken and missing. The door itself had been broken -into at least once as the jam was broken and the lock latch was broken.
The stains on the carpet were overwhelming, giving the appearance of a crime scene. Of all these scary things there was one relief. The curtains were too small for the windows letting in light all night and the lack of complete privacy thankfully kept the place from feeling like a genuine kidnappers hideout
I booked a two-room unit through Expedia, but upon arrival, we discovered there were no two-room units available at all. Confused, we sought help at a busy pizza restaurant in front of the building, which appeared to function as the makeshift check-in desk.
The manager reviewed a handwritten list of names and prices and said, “We weren’t expecting you,” then gave us a key to a much smaller, one-room unit. Attempts to contact the owner through Vrbo messaging (as instructed) went unanswered. Eventually, the manager reached the owner by phone, but we were offered no real solution. When I requested a refund, I was told I could cancel—but would not receive a full refund. Given the lack of response, it’s doubtful the owner would have refunded even his portion of the cost.
To make matters worse, a staff member casually mentioned, “This happens quite often,” which was alarming. The unit did not match what was advertised—it lacked proper space and amenities—and we ended up booking rooms elsewhere to accommodate our needs.
This experience fell far short of the standards I expect from Expedia. I urge future travelers to double-check listings and read reviews thoroughly before booking here.
