Owner/manager was in phone for about 5 minutes before we were greeted I think ppl that are in front of you are priority over ppl on phone Room was large. Clean. Except toilet has rust running down it. Sheet wouldn't stay on the bed. Sheets felt cheap. Slept ok When we left someone or something pooped on the stairs AN EMPLOYEE WAS ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN IT AND LEFT IT. not really what you want to see first thing in morning Pool was clean looked nice and inviting Didn't eat or check out breakfast we had to leave early Overall. Not a bad place. Could recommend it. Idk if I'll stay there again. Mostly due to sheets

This hotel is close to the cruise dock. It is also on the roadway to the ferry. The ferry line was very long and we didn;t realize that we could go in the other lane to reach the hotel. If the line is long, stay in the right lane and you will end up at the hotel. We tried to get around the line and accidently realized we could pass the stopped traffic in the right lane. Cars waiting for the ferry will not let you cross or merge as they see it as cutting the line.

We arrived and hotel staff was pleasant. The rooms were clean and tidy. Continental breakfast wasn't really that unless you wanted a bowl of cereal and very little pastries. The updates that were in the main lobby were nice and considering that it was an older hotel it was nice. However, the location to the beach and parking were less to be desired. Overall the experience was okay.

Other than an extra firm bed, it was awesome!! The Contential Breakfast was one of the best I've had at a budget motel. This place is right next to the ferry landing and has its own lane to avoid ferry traffic. We will definitely stay again, but bring extra pillows for cushion.

Clean and quiet, nice pool and relaxation area. Close to cruise terminals. Far enough from the sea wall to be quiet but still have access to the seawall area and the Strand area.

......... was in a great location.................

I thought that the Scottish inn was great, the hotel owner went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. He had no problem with a early, or late check-in.

nice motel, staff were very nice and helpful.i would stay there again.

We had requested for late check-in & reached by 4:30pm. The hotel owners are v co-operative. Room was clean with basic amenties like microwave & mini-fridge. Location is perfect if u wish to cover ferry ride & stewart beach.

I would prefer to have a coffee maker and coffee in room. The fridge was not as cold as it should be - my beer became warmer than it was in coller. But if you came just to spend couple day swimming and having fun outdoors - the hotel is good.

Staff was very nice. Room lacked a coffee maker so you have to go to the have to go to the office. They have a continental breakfast for you to take back to your room. The room was very clean and has a microwave and refrigerator. Only about a 10 min. drive to East Beach. Very convenient location. If you are looking for an inexpensive place that is clean, then check this place out. Staff very friendly.

It's CLEAN and SAFE. Owners are great. Pool closes a little too early and opens a little too late for my tastes but for the money and peace of mind it's hard to beat ... I'll be going back.

We were a little worried when we booked this hotel because it was the only one not booked our weekend and had no reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with the service and location. The hotel is 5 mins walking distance from the ferry, which saved us HOURS of time not having to take our car, and 5 mins driving time to Stewart beach. We arrived late in the evening and the manager was so nice that after we checked in he walked us to our room instead of us having to hunt for it. The next day we woke up late and he gave us breakfast anyway. He also printed us off a map and showed us the hot spots to go our short weekend getaway. And he told us to check out whenever we wanted to on Sunday so we could spend extra time there. The service was definately great and we would definately stay there again.

I am always leery of hotels. The Red Carpet Inn was a perfect surprise. The room was what it needed to be, clean, spacious, and the micro/fridge was such a perk! The staff are very gracious and personable. The pool is larger than most hotels three times the size, and the location made for a nice quiet night, and even better sleep. NO reason to stay on the Seawall anymore.

The room was spacious, the pool was very well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and courteous. My only complaints are: the TV signal was very fuzzy and staticy and there was no WIFI access in the room itself - you had to be in the lobby. Otherwise, this was a clean, nice, well-maintained hotel at an extremely reasonable rate.

The Hotel was reasonable, the people were nice and went above & beyond to help you with anything you needed. We stayed there the night before a cruise, & the staff gave us helpful advice as it was our first cruise.

I would've given this motel a lower rating if the owners hadn't been so nice and accomodating. It lacks a lot of amenities for the price they charge. But, given this is a resort town and this is the high season, it's to be expected. If you plan to take the ferry you are literally right at it. This is the last place you can drive to before you're in line to take the boat. Despite all the ferry traffic it was surprisingly quiet. It was also conveniently located to East Beach where we planned to view the Sand Castle Competition. Our room had two porthole windows by the door that had no curtains on them, so we asked for a couple of extra pillows to stuff in them to block the light coming through. The glass was frosted, so no one could see in. The bathroom was kind of shabby, but at least it had hot and cold running water. There was no clock/radio in the room, so if you need to get up early you better bring your own alarm clock. The beds were fairly firm and comfortable. A pleasant surprise was that all the parking spaces are covered. The continental breakfast consists of coffee and a wrapped, frozen biscuit with what appeared to be a sausage patty, sliced cheese and some kind of egg concoction. We passed on that and went to Starbucks for something slightly more appealing. All in all it was OK for a one night stay and for the budget traveler this is probably about the best you can do for the money.

I reserved a two-bed room with a kitchenett for memorial weekend and regret reserving this hotel. The images and room information [...] is not current with the hotel. The rooms now look different and the hotel no longer has any rooms with kitchenetts and the beds are really stiff. I really wanted a kitchenetted room to save money and time by not having to eat out. The TV had only about 6 channels and all of them were not coming in clearly. The pool was nice and the short walk to the ferri for a ride was convenient. The pool starts out at 3ft and is too deep for kids 6yrs and younger. WiFi is only offerend in the office and the owner/manager is nice and remembers you by name.

Basic hotel accomodations. lovely pool; close to theferry; ideal for not so much traffic; It was better than the big hotels that you could not get in and out of on the seawall.

If you are looking for a clean, quiet room, comfy bed at a great price then this is the one you want. The hotel manager made this stay an amazing one when he went out of his way to print out color maps to the best seafood spots and to local Walmart stores just in case we needed anything before our cruise. He also showed us the most secure location where we could park our car (with no charge) during our 7 day cruise which would have cost us 70$ otherwise. There was a bit of construction going on in the breakfast area which I'm sure was just off-season work getting ready for the summer but it didn't bother us, wake us or hamper our stay in any way. We'll continue to sleep there and park our car there during cruises as it felt like we were staying in a small bed and breakfast with a great family to watch over our things while we were away.
