This is a nice, modern facility, but even for the European standard, the rooms are small. The AC worked well and the staff allowed us to keep an extra card in the power/ac control slot by the door all the time to keep the room cool. The location is excellent, just a block from the major shopping area and close to other attractions like the cathedral. Several transpiration options are available just steps outside the door. The staff was great and very accommodating. The included breakfast selection was very robust and tasty. As mentioned, the rooms are small. VERY SMALL. There were only two small shelves for our clothes so we basically lived out of four suitcases (were were on a two-week trip). You could only have one opened at at time which was inconvenient.

Motel One is more like hotel (in my opinion). It is new and very clean. Breakfast is good and tasty but I would like if there were some bacon and scrambled eggs also! Rooms are not big, but still enough for overnight staying. Location is very good!

Positive: 1- Great organic breakfast 2- A nice lobby area with interesting books every where and Cuckoo clocks make it even great ambience 3- Clean & Modern room 4- Helpful and kind staffs To improve: 1- Uncomfortable mattress 2- Size of room was too small, but it was ok as I know that from beginning and traveling by myself 3- Although I asked for a higher room with a nice view in the booking request, room was given completely different from the request as they said they were fully booked!

Pros: Free usage of cribs Comfortable bed Clean facilities Acceptably priced breakfast Cons: The price seemed a bit too high for the room we got (122e with breakfast). But it was high season and last minute booking in Touristy Freiburg.

Stayed there for one night, central, friendly staff, a feel-good atmosphere, breakfast wonderful even though no real dining room, but was fully ok, trendy furniture and accessories, rooms small but served the purpose, very clean!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is excellent for accessing many sites in Freiburg on foot. Though the room was small by North American standards, the bed was excellent and it had air conditioning (very much appreciated during the blistering heat of early July). Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a lot of variety. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The Motel One in Freiburg is very centrally located. The rooms are clean and serve their purpose. The staff is very friendly and supportive. If you go there by car, make sure that you book a parking in their very convenient but limited underground parking in advance together with your room.

A super hotel! Really friendly staff and lovely, modern decor that complements the Black Forest theme. Very stylish, but warm and comfortable, too. Nice lounge and bar area. The hotel is close to a really beautiful park. It would be nice to have a kettle or small coffee maker in the room, but that's a small detail, and the bar area was more than happy to oblige. There is also a fantastic bakery/coffee shop just across the street. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay. Thank you to the very kind staff.

About 12-13 minutes away on foot from the train station, but easy to find. We had room 708, with a view out the back away from the main street. This 7th floor smelled as if it had been renovated not long ago, with the odd whiff of paint, roughcast and MDF here and there, which, upon returning from a hard day's work gave me the feeling of being nothing short of reborn. The idea of rebirthing continues in the king room we had because you need some serious navigating in pretty tight spaces around the bed and especially between the foot of the bed and the wall. It's an awfully small womb, but we did manage to find space by the window and were able to chill there with bottles of refreshment before going to sleep. The window opens out to accentuate the suicidal height you are at on the 7th floor and the gap is cordoned off by a transparent, perspex shield that comes to about chest height. If you had one drink way too many, there could be pretty serious results. The bathroom was ace, with a brand new shower and all the things you could need including the classic combo - a Viceroy and Boch toilet pan coupled with a Sanit flush plate. Not only does the flush system and strength of the flow efficiently eradicate waste, but it literally gives one fresh piece of mind in the knowledge that when turning round to hit send and inadvertently glancing into the pan, there won't be a trace. Vorsprung durch Technik. Ja! Breakfast was a bit of a downer for 11 euros. There was nothing warm apart from boiled eggs and hot drinks, no Nurnberger sausages or bacon. Just slices of cold spammy-style meat. There was plenty types of bread, butter and all sorts of other stuff, but just nothing of any gumption for my taste. All-in-all, a generally great stay to be honest. I'd return as the price is rather attractive, the location is good and the hygiene is spot-on and although the breakfast didn't appeal to me, I reckon most people will appreciate it to the fullest of extents.

Stayed there for two weeks, location was the main reason why I chose Motel One. You literally are in the middle of town and close to all of Freiburg’s attractions, public transit is across the street. The rooms a small, not much room for a suit case, bathroom also small. Liked the breakfast buffet, which has something for everyone and is reasonably priced. There are other options for breakfast outside of the hotel, Starbucks is just a couple of minutes away, across the street is another breakfast place. Liked the bar in the evening, nice atmosphere! The only drawback is that there are no phones in the room, I had to use my cell phone for local calls, which meant I had to roam with my Canadian network... expensive! The reception didn’t get it when I asked why there are no phones in the room, I’ve been told to make an WhatsApp call😬.. all in all I will probably stay there again, based on location alone !
