Enjoy a serene family retreat nestled between Bryson City and Franklin. This cozy getaway features a spacious, fully stocked kitchen with a coffee bar, two queen bedrooms, and a second-floor landing with a full-size pull-out sofa. With three full bathrooms, a large front yard for kids, a BBQ grill, and a fire pit, relaxation is guaranteed. Plus, there’s a two-car garage, perfect for motorcycles and sports cars. All the comforts of home await you here!

Looking for the perfect spot for Tail of the Dragon? We’re on Moonshine 28, a must-do road in western NC. Stretching from US 129 at the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, Moonshine 28 winds its way southeastward 103 miles through Franklin and Highlands North Carolina before turning southward into Georgia and South Carolina ending at the sleepy town of Walhalla.

More of the Outdoors/Adventure Type, we are located 16 miles/25 min from NOC Nantahala Outdoor Center, Tons of Hiking trails, Waterfalls, Appalachian Trail, Cherokee, Clingmans Dome, Blue ridge Parkway, and many more.

Nestled between Franklin and Bryson City, this location offers easy access to the attractions of both towns. The property runs along the picturesque Little Tennessee River, providing multiple spots for fishing, tubing, kayaking, or picnicking. Conveniently situated directly off Bryson City Road, the house is easily accessible for all types of vehicles, including motorcycles and sports cars. Please note that, like many mountain areas, cell service is spotty in this area.

Beautiful Location!

House was beautifully updated and very spacious. I really liked the office workspace as I had to do some work while staying at the property. Communication was excellent with the owners and we would definitely stay again!

Fantastic property and owner

The owner was extremely helpful. The place was very clean and had a lot of extras including a full coffee bar. We loved the eccentric house. Decorations were gorgeous and everything was cozy. Would def stay again!

Great All-Around

Modern Mountain House was perfect for our needs while visiting Franklin and Bryson City. Very convenient to both. Raven was excellent to work with-seemingly responded in minutes to any question. The home is spacious, clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked for all of our needs. I will definitely stay here again.

July Bike trip

Place was clean and well maintained. Had use of the 2 car garage to store the trailer and bikes. Kitchen was well stocked. Only issue was the wifi as it was very slow. Overall great trip and highly recommend staying as it is a great location.

The Best!

This host thought of absolutely everything! If you needed it, it was there. Clean, convenient, so peaceful! The garage was an added bonus since we were on a motorcycle trip. Quick response to all of our questions. House as advertised. Absolutely loved it there!

This was a friends trip of 3. The house was very clean and was as stated on VRBO. The beds were comfortable the kitchen was well stocked. Coffee and tea bar was a plus treat. The sofa upstairs was very comfortable for settling and sleeping. Only thing I would say i was disappointed in would be no recliner in the living room. The two chairs are not very comfortable for watching hours of tv.
