This hotel has to be the worst hotel I've ever had a displeasure staying. Rooms are outdated, bathroom water doesn't work frequently so I had to call the reception. Free WIFI is non existent, because it's slower than a dial up. I'm having hard times posting this review because of how spotty the WIFI is here. Orange WIFI is there where you can pay your own money for a little faster internet, but that goes down more often than not so out of 5 days, it's down 4 days so don't waste your money. At night frequently, there's loud music playing downstairs that the bass can be felt in my room so I couldn't sleep. Unfortunately, I am stuck here because my company paid for it, but I can't wait to leave this godforsaken place. If you don't believe me, stay there, but don't tell me I didn't warn you. I would want this to my worst enemy. That's how much I hate this place. p.s. I complained several times, but nothing ever gets fixed.
Decent hotel ,easy to rezch Clean but sober rooms Breakfast was ok , nothing special but fine for it' s price Diner was great steak tartare , some creme brulee and prot and wine Swimming pool was still closed but looks good So good hotel for it's money
I stayed at this hotel for 1 night only, the location to the port area for work is excellent, however there is nothing much around the hotel. Reception staff very friendly, however bar and breakfast staff grumpy and unfriendly which made you feel more of a burden than a guest, myself and a work colleague arrive back at the hotel at 2145 and went to see if we could get anything to eat, the best that could be offered was a packet of crisps and a beer - then at 2200 the barmaid rudely told us that she was now locking up !!! I was allocated a room on the ground floor very near to the reception area, avoid at all costs if you need a good nights sleep, chatting and door slamming went on all night in the reception area with no apparent concern for guests sleeping - or trying to sleep in my case. I travel and work in Fos quite often, this will not be my first choice in the future and I will stay back in Martigues where there are a few hotels which offer a better and more caring service. On a safety note, the fire door outside of my room was wedged open with a piece of wood - which I removed before trying to go to sleep - it was reinserted sometime during the night !!!
I spent one night in this hotel. My room was on the first floor (rdc in France). The room: big room, Nice chairs outside to relax if you stay long enough. Confortable bed. Bad point, the noise: the door is giving an access to the next door room so when your neighboor watches Tv, you can Hear it. i also heard the person in the room above me walking loudly on the floor. Quality/price ratio: average for this region on France. Restaurant: nothing special, the dinner was rather expensive for what i got. Breakfast: ok, nothing special. For a coffee and a pastry, not worth paying more than 5€.
Location is good. Enough parking. However staff were terribly unfriendly and room allocation awful. Bathrooms are disaster and grimy. The pool (that is in all the photos) is tiny and shaped like a toilet. The pool is only 1.5 m deep. Breakfasts are strange - no eggs - only white bread My wife and I had 2 salads for lunch (nothing fancy) paid € 30!!! At night all the construction workers (Poland Portugal etc.) were having fun outside smoking and making lots of noise till 3am.
Nice hotel, staff very helpful, restaurant added items to menu for our group. Would recommend bringing mosquito repellant if you go anywhere behind the hotel/back patio. Would say if there are noisy people sound does travel. Lovely hotel cant wait until the whole thing is remodeled.
Wifi excellent, nice parking. Room was, spacious clean but dark, no good lighting, only few outlets for electricity! Need to unplug refrigerator or television to connect laptop! We had a balcony but is dirty, covered and sealed with gauze. A pair of old dirty seats and table are on the 'balcony" which certainly does not invite it in to use. When you are in the room during the cleaning of the room "There is no cleaning"!!! When I reported it, they answered me "you must leave the room, otherwise the cleaning woman don't make up the room! (FYI i am a woman!!!) This is not said when we arrived !!! During the day there was a lot of shouts and loud conversation among the personnel! Hotel definitely needs a revamp The breakfast buffet is "very poor" and certainly "not worth" 10.50 Euro per person Restaurant has a limited menu,
Good car parking, thats about it. Small children swimpool: no swimming possible. Old and grubby rooms, bathroom not clean. No electricity in bathroom, after 3 times asking: still no repair. Bar is closed in the weekend Unfriendly service. Conclusion: barely acceptible
I'm a frequent traveler for work and leisure - I have a good idea what to expect from the price I'm paying. I stay in so many hotels it's becoming quite easy. Every once in a while a hotel stumps me, in the case of Hotel Ariane, I was delightfully surprised and will say the property is a great value, with all the amenities and professionalism you would expect from a hotel twice the price! Highly recommend!
I only stayed there for one night recently and then I changed hotels. I was in the vicinity of Fos for work and was supposed to stay there for 3 weeks so my company booked a room with a kitchenette. The hotel looks quite nice, so do the 10-20 rooms that have been recently renovated (or so says my colleague who got one of this rooms) but...don't stay in one of the old rooms. Mine was on the first floor with no elevator so I had to carry my very heavy suitcase (packed for 3 weeks) on the stairs. From my room I couldn't see any wifi network and after asking the user and password 3 times at the reception, because they kept giving me the wrong ones based on my room number, I gave up. Needless to say the lady at the front desk didn't even speak basic English so I had to rely on my very bad French. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working, the whole room looked very old, like it hasn't been renovated in decades and it was dirty. When I checked in I found hair in the bathroom, including the toilet seat (and it wasn't mine!!!). Breakfast costs about 10 euros and it's definitely not worth paying that much. The upside is you can have it on the terrace by the pool so that's nice. Plus side for this hotel: large free parking, it has a (small) pool, you can eat on the terrace and if you get one of the renovated rooms it's nice.
