Our room was quite basic and a bit dated, but clean and tidy. There was a great selection of options for breakfast and it was delicious! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel under much needed construction. Hasn't seen paint or a face-lift since probably the 90s or before. Even the sign on the hotel was missing letters. I said i wanted to cancel second night and they never called me back to discuss. Awful property. Strong avoid. I had to give it 1 star as 0 wasn't an option.

We found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. Inside the ambience is grand but it is in need of money being spent on it. This was the only gripe. In fact it was not a gripe but a feeling of sadness. Our bedroom was big and grand, and lovely and comfortable. Enormous bed. Very clean The staff were very helpful. Service was quick and the food (evening roast meal and breakfast) was very good and plentiful and reasonably priced. No complaints at all. All good, other than sadness that in these times of the cost of living crisis, the place needs money spending on it. Used the swimming pool which was lovely - again staff very helpful and friendly and amenities were great.

Checked in ok, but found room had no hot water or heating, which staff knew there had been an issue but had not informed us. Other rooms were not available. Staff offered to find alternative, but did not. Can’t comment on the comfort of the bed or the power of the shower as we left. WiFi signal was poor in the room and at the front desk, On a plus they left caramel wafers with the tea and coffee but we didn’t get to have tea either.
