Beachbums Hideaway - Unique Artsy Beachfront Townhouse

Tired of staying at impersonal, expensive, noisy condos? Want a calm, beautiful place to call "home" during your vacation? Beachbums Hideaway is a unique artistic haven for you to refresh.

It's a three story (non-smoking) beachfront townhouse located directly on the Emerald Coast. On Okaloosa Island, with 3 bedrooms (one is a fully functional Studio) and 4 bathrooms for up to 8 people to stay. Furnished private beach deck and two private balconies to enjoy the gorgeous views and look for dolphins swimming past.

The owner is a photographer - Old Man and the Sea Photography. You will find his stunning beach photography hanging on the walls. All of his work is from local waterways. There are also two art murals on the walls, painted by a family friend, that add to the creative ambience.

Enjoy your morning coffee or tea from the breakfast bar. There is a fully equipped kitchen, so you can enjoy meals together at the dining table or al fresco. There is a view of the Emerald Coast inside and out!

Private walkover that goes over the sea oats and directly to the emerald blue waters and white sand beach.

Beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, frisbees, kids toys) is provided.

Nearby shopping, fishing, parasailing, water parks, mini-golf, Crab Island, scuba diving and snorkeling. Cute coffee shops, restaurants, live music, ice cream and waterfront parks. Destin and 30A are a short drive away.

At night, chill with a board game, watch cable TV from every room, stargaze the beautiful night sky full of stars.

Personal driveway with 4 parking spaces.

Our townhouse is not for everyone. If you want to party until the wee hours of the morning, there are plenty of other units available. But if you don't mind being fairly quiet from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM, and enjoy just kicking back with a margarita and a little Jimmy Buffett music, this should suit you fine.

We really enjoyed our stay at BeachBums Hideaway. It was clean and family friendly. The deck has a perfect view right on the beach. We would definitely stay here again. Chris the owner was great and went out his way to make sure our family had a great time.

This place was perfect! Great location for all that we wanted to do. The beach was fantastic and we had super easy access to it. I don't think that we could a picked a more perfect listing. If we ever get a chance to go back to this area we will look for this very same place. The home had everything that we needed and more. Definitely a beach bums PERFECT hideaway!

Amazing Place/Location

This is definitely my favorite place I’ve ever stayed in Florida! The condo has everything you need & you walk right outside & you’re on the beach. This was the first time I’ve actually had interaction with the host out of the many times I’ve used VRBO & they were so awesome & kind! I will definitely be returning here for a future stay & this will be my go to spot from here on out.

This is just as described. If your looking for a beautiful beach & quiet location this is it. You just walk out the patio up a few steps on the walkway bridge & there you are….. the beach! The bungalow is cozy & the two of us were comfortable. Location is away from the hustle & bustle of the strip but it’s really only a short drive away. We hope to book this again!

Unique studio unit steps away from beach

We really loved staying here, and it was very clean. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. There's an outdoor shower (and a normal bathroom inside too) which was which was nice to wash sand off. You can sit outside on the patio and hear the waves. The beach is just a few steps from the unit. The location is very good, a few minutes drive to the main strip with restaurants grocery stores and some shopping. There's bikes and umbrellas and chairs provided, which we appreciated. Quite a few toiletries too and even found some sunscreen in the unit, which is nice if you forgot anything. Dave and Ginny were very nice and helpful, excellent hosts and we would gladly stay here again!

I could hideaway here forever.

The beach access can't be beat. We spent all is our time boogie boarding right out front. The waves were ideal and we slept soundly in this perfect little gem nestled in between the condo monsters. We'll be back as soon as we can!

Beautiful Beach, Clean and Safe Location

Dave and Ginny's Beachbums Hideaway may be a studio apartment, but it is loaded with charm and thoughtful touches. We parked directly in front of the condo and were greeted with a personalized welcome sign and tray of snacks. They also had all we would need for the beach like chairs, towels, and sunscreen. They even had bikes. The bed was comfortable. The place is clean and welcoming. We felt safe. The beach in front of these condos is beautiful and much less crowded than the neighboring high rises. It is in a quieter area yet a short drive to many restaurants and shopping. The ocean water and bays are gorgeous! We hope to have the opportunity to return soon. They even thoughtfully found and mailed back to me something that I had accidentally left behind.

Truly a Beachbum Hideaway

We had a great stay. Everything was just what we needed for a mini getaway! Dave and Ginny introduced themselves and made sure we had everything we needed. Their hideaway is perfectly located to be able to enjoy the quiet and peaceful beach yet within minutes of restaurants and entertainment. Our first night we went for a peaceful bike ride (bikes provided by Dave and Ginny :) along the island where we were greeted by locals with a smile. Throughout our stay we were able to relax on the beach chairs and enjoy it all! Dolphins and stingrays were playing along the wave break on the morning of check out and it was a great ending to our vacation. We will be back soon!

Great Place & Great Stay

We were very pleased with our stay at this property. Dave was exceptionally helpful with his communication with us prior to our stay and when we did see him periodically around the property he always asked us if there was anything that we needed. This studio apartment has everything that a couple needs to enjoy a great beach vacation. It only has a kitchenette, but there is a toaster oven and an electric skillet, as well as a charcoal grill on the back patio. We love to cook, so we brought with us a small propane camp stove and grill, along with an oversized griddle, which Dave was totally fine with. The weather was nice and we were able to cook and eat all of our meals on the back patio, which was great. The studio has a murphy bed with a memory foam mattress, which was very comfortable. Overall, the unit has everything needed for a couple to have a nice, relaxing vacation. The biggest plus about this studio is its proximity to the beach. Although you cannot see the ocean from the back patio while sitting, because of the sand dunes, you can hear the waves crashing and you cannot get closer to the beach. Just through the back gate of the patio, up the stairs no more than 10 feet away, across the boardwalk, and you are on the beach. The group of townhouses where this unit is located is nestled between a couple of condo complexes, but there were never more than a few families on the beach in the couple hundred feet of beachfront that this rental offers. Okaloosa Island does have a lot of condo complexes, but the ordinances do not allow huge high-rise condo resorts. The beaches adjacent to us were busier with beach service and larger groups of primarily families, but were nowhere near as busy as places like Destin, Orange Beach, etc. Overall, we were exceptionally pleased with our stay at Beach Bums Hideaway and will definitely be returning. Dave was great and even gave us a USB drive filled with over a hundred classic rock songs for our long drive back to Michigan. Excellent hosts and an excellent no frills property!
