We stayed one night before crossing the channel via the Shuttle which is 5 minutes away. The staff couldn’t have been more welcom8 g, the rooms were larger than expected with great shower, thick towels and an armchair too. Restaurant is clean, bright and serves well prepared food cheaply and the breakfast was outstanding.

We'd stayed here several times before & had forgotten just how well-designed the rooms are, offering the comfort & facilities you'd expect from much larger establishments. (We especially appreciated the blue lights in the bathroom, that allow night-time loo trips without disturbing others!) We knew the food was somewhat canteen-like, but the staff are friendly & efficient. However, the beds seemed very un-giving this time, and for the first time, we were greatly disturbed by traffic noise. I think this must have been because of the room location.

We requested a quiet room away from any lifts or stairwells. Now i know requests are subject to availability but we were directly opposite the stairs. At 6.30am we were woken up by loading and unloading trucks. But i guess at least there was no motorway noise. The hotel is clean, pretty standard stuff, however the shower has no temperature regulation. It just wouldn't get hot and would dip in and out from luke watm to cold. The room itself wasn't great, the walls are paper thin, i could hear some poor mother struggling to get her toddler to sleep it was almost like they were in our room! The only tv channels that seemed to work were bbc 1 and bbc 2 so nothing to entertain the kids when we were all woken up at 6.30am The one person however who did make an impression on us is Lee. He engaged with my kids and they loved their colouring competition. So a huge thank you to Lee from us. The hotel did its purpose for us as a stop over before our next destination but otherwise not somewhere I'd recommend in a hurry.

Yet again the same barman is still still not getting it. He is foreign, does not communicate but runs the bar at the Brickfields. He is rude and impolite, the Manager is fully aware as my wife and friends complained about him today. GET IT SORTED,!

It's a standard HIE (they all are!) so no surprises - clean, functional, "free" breakfast, comfortable bed. The Folkestone one is very near the Channel Tunnel but a bit remote from Folkestone itself. The staff are friendly and efficient. Despite staying here several times a year, I won't be back. My reason is the "Penalty Charge Notice" I subsequently received from Parking Eye (who Holiday Inn and HIE appear to have got into bed with). The reason I received this was because I drove out for some food in the evening, then drove back in, even though I'd regisered as an overnight guest. The hotel effected a cancellation, so it was just a bit of a nuisance (and time wasted). They also said (by email) this happens a lot! Clearly this sort of thing would be awful for someone going away for longer than a few days or weeks, imagine coming back to bailiffs and court orders! This is something I could do without so won't be back. (I have booked an alternative hotel for my next stay in the area)

I would not normally review a Holiday Inn that is synonymous with chain simplicity but this one deserves a positive mention for a number of reasons. 1. Very convenient for Eurotunnel. Six minutes to be precise. 2. Cheap yet complete with convenience facilities; tea & coffee making in the room, iron & board, hair dryer, free WiFi 3. Very pleasant team of cooperative staff - even down to when we mentioned the room TV was not working, the manager discovered there had been a network repositioning and he went around all rooms reprogramming them 4. Wholesome and good choice of breakfast dishes from 06.00am 5. Reasonable pub type grub all day 6. Last, but as a dog owner travelling back and forth to France regularly, not least, amazingly friendly reception and attitude to permitting dogs and very popular it is. We have never witnessed bad dog behavior and an area is reserved for no dog restaurant access which means it is not obligatory to have a four legged friend. This popularity is almost guaranteed by the canine rejection society of most other hotels in the vicinity. Most grateful to all for an easy stay

Everything you can expect from a holiday inn express hotel: Excellent. Good location close to channel tunnel, Dover and close to a big Tesco (200 metres). All the comfort you need in the spacious room and bathroom, very clean and helpful staff at checkin and restaurant. Great breakfast buffet, also at night good food and drinks. Good wifi and free parking. Good price-value.

We arrived here for a night before going over to France on our journey to Spain. Greeted by a friendly enthusiastic man called Andy. We had our two poodles with us and we were made to feel very welcome. Superb breakfast included in the price. Reasonable bar prices. Clean comfortable room. Bedding and towels good. Thankyou

Very good location for travelling to France via Eurotunnel. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable (only negative - twin room requested, but given one with double bed and sofa bed - not really suitable for 2 adults). Had dinner at the hotel which was very good and breakfast was good too.

Such friendly reception staff. Good parking, good approach to having a dog with you, breakfast 'hit the spot'. Room was clean and comfortable, no noise from outside. Highly recommend if you need an overnight stay before Euro shuttle.
