Amalia Hotel Delphi4.0 out of 5.0

This hotel's strongest point is its location -- near the Delphi Historical Site and Museum and overlooking the Gulf of Corinth. The rooms are nice enough, and the food in the restaurant is generally quite fresh -- especially the vegetables and fruits, with plentiful portions.
First, the place was clean and everything worked. Beyond that, it was like a hotel designed by Kafka. There was nothing on the walls. The plain corridors stretched out forever. We know, because the room numbering was so strange. The room itself had no pictures to relieve the feeling of an institution. The metal shutter was closed over the glass doors and we could not open it. This completed the feel of a prison or asylum. There was a television- 10 inch screen tube type.
What a beautiful site for your sore eyes. It just happens to be down the road from the road to the Oracle at Delphi. Great location and the food was superb. If I went back to Greece I would certainly go back to this hotel.
We got a good view from our room - the sea, mountain and the city below of the hotel location. The shower head and the shower itself takes a kind of skill to get it to work. Shower head stand is in the middle of the tub. Room is big, quiet and clean. Hotel is walking distance to some local shops. They served buffet breakfast during our stay.
An older hotel with hard beds and thin carpets. The TV didn't work and the bathroom was smaller. All the rooms over looked the the town and the Gulf of Corinth. A beautiful scene at night. The food was not spectacular but being in the mountains was nice.
As a fan of mid-century modern, staying here took my breath away a bit. Granted, the elevator is super slow ( I always took the stairs) and there are many shabby elements, but the overall aesthetic is noteworthy. Lovers of architecture will adore it. Besides that, the breakfast and dinner buffets were above average with a lot of selection, even for us Vegetarian folk. The bed and room comfortable, the pool area clean and well-managed. I really felt like I was on the set of Mad Men and I loved every minute of it. Also lots of places to cozy up in. I found it a very romantic hotel with spectacular views from the generous terraces.
We stayed here for one night. A lot of tour groups also stay in this hotel. The hotel is close to Delphi, so you can get up early and go to archaeology site to avoid crowds. We had dinner buffet and breakfast there. The dinner is barely OK, however, the breakfast is much better, even though there is no salad for breakfast. This hotel has a beautiful pool, but due to the temperature, I did not swim in it.
If you are into modernist architecture and staying in a time capsule place, this is for you. The hotel is beautiful and not much has changed since its opening in terms of decor & atmosphere. I sincerely hope they will keep it this way. One thing they should do is get rid of the awful white plastic chairs by the pool and replace them with something more aligned with the 1960s feel of the hotel. The property is well kept. It caters a lot to tour groups, which is not great but since they move as herd and their timing is quite predictable, this is not such a problem in the end.
Good location..not too far from the main town area. The room a little dated but very clear. Foods was lovely..Specially dessert..(I'm not sure what it is called) .. it is a very thin crepe with ether chocolate or jams. I recommended to have it with plain ice-cream. yummy 😋
This hotel is part of a chain with locations throughout Greece and was the accommodation selected by our tour service. Delphi is a region with dramatic vistas and one is able to enjoy some of those views from the hotel. Some areas of the lobby were dark which gave an uninviting impression. The rooms were nicely sized and clean but could use some modern updates. The restaurant had doors that could be opened up to allow fresh morning/evening air in which was really nice until someone would step out and start smoking in front of the doors!!!
