This boutique hotel is the perfect hidden gem! I stumbled upon this hotel by Googling hotels in Key Largo. After reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance.... I called and spoke with the owner Dominic, who went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate me for my upcoming trip. Although I was there for business, this piece of paradise made me feel like I was on vacation and took all of my stress away. From Dominic mapping out the best places for me to eat, watching the nightly sunsets from the private beach or just sitting outside studying enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves....this was absolutely the best 5 nights and 6 days that I've had in a long time. I will definitely be returning for a pleasure trip very soon!!!
Hotel including Owner/Manager & Staff are first class. Wonderful relaxing three day stay. Highlight was sunset cruise offered by hotel from its dock. Up close with manatees, native birds and gorgeous sunset followed by sip of wine.
We stayed 2 nights here and loved its quiet location and private beach for relaxing. We stayed in the Aquamarina suite on the first floor which had great sea views. The suite was very well appointed with small kitchen area so you can fix drinks and snacks but there are restaurants within walking distance. We went to Sundowners and enjoyed the food and atmosphere there. Great breakfast at The Hideout not too far away by car.
This was our first time staying at this property. All of the previous reviews and photos were enough motivation to book the room and give it a try. We stayed for 3 nights in the Royale Suite. It was awesome. The reviews and website are accurate--in fact the property is better than advertised. The room was well appointed and grounds are beautiful. The entire property is extremely quiet and private. Dominic is a great host. If you get a chance, have Dominic or Ana set you up with a snorkel or kayak tour. Ask to have KC as your guide. It's a good way to go if you're looking for a nice way to kill an afternoon. Next time we're back to Key Largo, we will definitely return to Azul Del Mar. If you're on the fence, do it--you will not be disappointed.
We spent three nights in this peacefully located boutique hotel and particularly liked the small private beach and stunning sunset views from the beach and pier. The grounds were very well maintained and it was quiet at night. There are quite good places to eat in walking distance ( we particularly liked Sundowners ) and the owner was very helpful with directions etc. The room ( La Palma ) was on the small side and the kitchenette a bit basic comprising only a coffee machine and microwave. None the less we had a great stay. A car is essential to stay at this location.
This small property only has 6 suites, and is adults-only. It is in a quiet setting with a beautiful view of the bay - they even have a small sand beach area with beach chairs and tables. Great for couples who want to be close to all that Key Largo offers, but in a small boutique-style property. The owners are very nice and also offer evening cruises in the bay for their guests, as well as kayaks and paddleboards. A great place to getaway!
The sunset (and sunrise) from the private pier are breathtaking! Our room was beautiful - clean, modern and the little kitchenette is great to have. They offer kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. The only regret we had was that we didn’t stay longer.
Delightful small hotel tucked away on the bayside of north Key Largo. Definitely not a cookie cutter hotel. Appears to be a very well done recent renovation of an older hotel. Very quaint, and very quiet.
This small jewel is as advertised, some places take photos that enhances the location and once you arrive you find it's not quite as advertised. Well I am here to say that you can't appreciate this location just from it's photos you have to be present to how wonderful and quaint this place is, well worth the sunset!
Although we were pretty frustrated by the time we found it( their sign, though lovely, is difficult to read), we quickly recovered as we surveyed the perfectly kept grounds including the pictureeque dock area. There are only six rooms, but they're arranged in such a way that you think you have the place to yourself. Carol and Dominick, the owners, were most gracious and welcoming. I'll provide some pics, since they will describe this better than I. One last thing---be sure to catch sunset from their dock. And one more last thing---there's a very nice state park almost across the street from them that is worth checking out.
