Steps from the Ponte Vecchio, this hotel offers an amazing, central location which makes touring both sides of the Arno easy. Our hotel room, with its pull-out couch in the living room and two bathrooms, allowed my husband, daughter, and I to stay here comfortably. There was even a small balcony where we could drink our coffee in the morning and glass of wine in the evening, although our room had no view of the river, we could enjoy the sounds of music and Florentines off the courtyard.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a very professional but relaxed service in the hotel lobby/lounge area which is decorated in typical 1950’s Italian Style. The plentiful staff were always extremely helpful in advising us of places to visit and local restaurants. Our room was beautiful and had wonderful views over the river and Ponte Vecchio. We ate at the Caffe d’ell Oro restaurant several times during our stay and the ambience, quality of food and service was excellent. The hotel is in a perfect central location near the Ponte Vecchio, with everything walkable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to those wanting high quality Italian service - we loved it!

With my family,we stayed in this luxurious fancy place.I do not want to call it a hotel. You enter as if you are entering your own home, and you will not see what is called: Reception or Front desk. You will be seated on a nice sofa, and a professional staff with discipline & courtesy will come to you and fo your check in very smoothly and friendly.excellent facility with excellent house keeping , room service and restaurant service with quality & quantity as well.Special thanks to Mr. BAHA and Mr.DARIO for their excellent customer care. They always go the extra miles to provide us with what we want or ask for. They have courtesy &discipline and great us upon arrival and they were with us outside when we went into our car to leave and gave us a warm Goodby.Special thanks also to the two ladies who serviced us for breakfast every day in the restaurant. They provide us with excellent service with excellent discipline & courtesy.

We stayed here for the first few nights of our honeymoon, and it was amazing. The concierge, especially Francesco, was the best we have ever experienced. The breakfast that was included with our stay was great. The hotel went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special. They also got us the best tables and treatment at restaurants. Would absolutely stay again!

We were lucky enough to have our second visit to the Portrait Firenze, this time bringing our kids (13 and 15) over the Christmas break...sorry for the late post. We have been fortunate to travel to some of the top hotels around the world and have developed very high standards when it comes to luxury accommodations. This boutique hotel is not only BEAUTIFUL, but the experience from the moment you arrive is what makes it our FAVORITE hotel in the world. The rooms are so beautifully appointed and have a very cozy, upscale, modern feel to them that makes it hard to leave each day to explore the town. We had a suite that adjoined to a second room for our kids, which was the perfect setup for our family. My kids couldn't stop taking pictures of the room and amazing view of the Ponte Vecchio. The complementary welcome bottle of champagne and strawberries was a nice touch. As special as the hotel is on it's own, what really stands out is the INCREDIBLE SERVICE provided by the BEST staff we've ever experienced. The concierge crew went out of their way each and every day (and night) to make sure that we were having a great time and didn't want for anything. When you enter the lobby (more like a comfortable living room), you're greeted by at least 3 warm and welcoming concierge staff that are all eager to help you plan your next meal, find a gelato shop that's open late for our kids, make a hair salon appointment for my wife, book travel arrangements or to recommend some experiences that are more unknown to tourists (the favorite spots for locals). SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE!!!! Service, first class accommodations and amazing location!!!! Perfect combination!!!! We can't wait to return again.

Great hotel, incredibly chic with outstanding service. We got treated so well, specially by Raphael, Matteo, Lin and Raj. Good views of the river and nicely done up suites along with fashionable interiors.

First, let me say the only two reasons I did not rate this hotel a 5 is due to price (>$500 / night) and the diminished breakfast in the morning at an early time. Now, with that said, this is a GREAT place if you have the extra cash. It's right next to the Uffizi Gallery which is phenomenal and takes more than a day to see it all. It is steps away from the Ponte Vecchio, the wonderful bridge over the Arno river that has many shops along the bridge. It is just a few blocks from the wonderful City Square where the weekend markets are incredible, short walking distance to the castle, any of the old historic cathedrals, just across the river (use the walking Ponte Vecchio bridge) from the Palazzo Pitti, (in English sometimes called the Pitti Palace) which has great trails, gardens and scenery...and more. My complaint about the breakfast was we got there on day 2 at 8AM and most of the food was gone. Day 3 and 4 we were there before 7:30 and selection was fine. It seems to be an early bird affair. Room are small to American standards, but rustic, and quint. We really enjoyed the stay there and the convenience was undeniable. There are many places less expensive and have nice access, but this one is in the heart of it all.

We returned to this hotel to spend five days during the New Year in Florence. We had a very pleasant stay last time in their Studio Deluxe River View suite and this time we decided to upgrade our experience to a full Superior Suite River View. As with last time, the entire staff are very professional and very attentive. One of the staff members from Naples (I sincerely apologize for forgetting the name) is especially attentive! One thing we wanted to note is that the lady who handled our check-in was misinformed and told us that we were offered free upgrade to the same Superior Suite room category on the first free night as part of the perk of Leader's Club when in fact I had paid for it in advance to make sure we did not have to move during our stay. We received acknowledgement from the staff for being Leader's Club members, but we did not receive any room upgrade from this property. We have not received any room upgrade from Portrait/Lungarno collection properties after several stays. Our suite is a larger version of the Studio Deluxe room we stayed at last year. Both offer amazing views of the Arno river and Ponte Vecchio. We did notice that Deluxe Studio River View suite has larger view windows that take up almost an entire wall. Superior Suite River View has a larger closet space and a much bigger bathroom without any marble/stone surfaces. At the end of our stay, we both felt that Deluxe Studio River View is a better room with pretty much the same level of amenities as Superior Suite River View at the expense of a smaller bathroom but is all well appointed with marble. One night we decided to stay in to enjoy our room and amenities and ordered room service. After our meal, we started having some serious case of diarrhea and were basically out of commission for the next day. This appears to be an isolated incident as we had ordered room service here before and did not have any issues. It's something to keep in mind if your room service food arrived cold. On topic of food, one area we felt the hotel falls short is the included buffet breakfast. There is not a single hot dish in the buffet breakfast, but the cold selection is of high quality and there are so many different kinds of honey it took us a few days to try them all. The only way to get hot dishes is to order from the a la carte menu and an egg dish is about 15 Euro. We enjoyed the fritata and their scrambled eggs. All in all, we really enjoyed the rather unique room amenities that include a wet bar complete with a dish washer, microwave, spare utensils, cups, glasses, water boiler and coffee maker with milk frother. We still stand by our recommendation after our second visit that this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Florence.

If you are looking for a grand old hotel with renaissance design, this is not the hotel for you. But if you are looking for a very stylish and tastefully designed (by Salvatore Ferragamo) hotel, look no further. Well located along Lingarno degli Acciaiuoli by the Arno river, its just on the fringe of the historical city. 1 minute walk to the popular Ponte Vecchio, 5 mins walk to Via de' Tornabuoni (shopping!), museums and under 15 mins, one can reach Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica and even the iconic Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore at Piazza del Duomo. If you are driving there, do not have worry about getting booked for driving into restricted zones. The hotel staff will inform the authorities accordingly that you are a hotel guest. Leave your car to the hotel and they will arrange for someone to drive it to the garage for you. Enough said on the location. Now what really left an indelible impression were essentially 2 areas; very well thought out and meticulously designed rooms and its service level. We had the family suite for 2 adults + 2 kids + 6 full sized luggage + 3 hand carry but the room was big enough to accommodate us. I really love the idea of having 2 separate full sized bathrooms which is ideal for the family. Despite this, we had a comfortable seating area to rest and watch TV (provided the sofa bed was not laid out). Wait till you see the range of toiletries! Last but definitely not least, the friendly & helpful staff and their service level is certainly outstanding. You feel like it's personalised butler service. Special mention, the Guest Assistant team, Francesco, Baha and Abdel, thank you for making our stay in Portrait Firenze such a memorable one. That explains why its our 3rd time there in 3 years!

We had a very memorable stay at this beautifully decorated and furnished hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to all the key tourist sites, main shopping area and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful. The reception area and the lifts to the rooms are in separate sections which allows for privacy. In addition to the Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries, the room has all the amenities and service of a high end hotel including excellent and well timed housekeeping and turn down services. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the friendly staff in reception and refreshments await in your room. Room service is well done with both delivery and quality of food. Whatever you need, the hotel can and will happily assist you. We felt completely pampered during our stay and look forward to returning in the near future. Tip: ask for 2 keys due to highly secured building (require key to enter lift area to room but room need key to be inserted for electricity to turn on) to enable people to leave and others to stay in room. That said, if you don’t want to carry the keys, the staff remembers their guests and will open the secured door for you.
