This hotel was a great little find. Only 5 minutes from the station, although we did walk past it as there aren't any big neon signs outside. Our room was lovely with plenty of space and storage, plus a four poster bed! There's a fridge which had a mini bar, but we didn't use it as we weren't sure what the charges would be. The bathroom was adequate with plenty of soft towels. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice, including eggs. The position is also great for all of the main historic sites in Florence, all within walking distance. The Piazza Di Santa Maria Novella is less than 100 meters away and has a good choice of restaurants and bars.
The hotel is very well located and the rooms are comfortable but the road noise in the early hours is intolerable. If possible ask for a room which does not face out on to the street. The staff are very friendly, it's just a shame about the road noise.
Overall nice hotel not far from the central station. Street is active, but it is not loud inside. Our room was with a picturesque view of roofs and S.Maria Novelle church. Staff is very helpful, smiling and ready to answer any question about your stay in Florence. Rooms and hotel overall is an old historic building with nice furniture (nothings looks bad - you can use it with pleasure). But elevator is rather small (for 4 person max) and stairs are very high - hotel is not very suitable for disabled or infants in strollers. Room is rather wide and nice, but our conditioner didn't work right - it was too cold (it blow only cold air in rooms, warm in bathroom). There were no any aditional electrical contacts - had to pull out lamps. So each time had to chose - lights or charging phones. Rooms could be a little bit cleaner, but overall were ok. There was no small (cosmetic) mirrow in bathroom, but there was a real (small one) bathtube. As well one of the hotels there realy comply with the rule that changes those towels which are on the floor. Breakfast choise was not big, but rather ok. Coffee is made by demand (waitress asks about preferences and get it to you). Would like more dairy products and vegetables.
The building of this hotel is using old palazzo, and this is very antique. Building itself is very old, however, air conditioner is available in the room. Breakfast place is also very nice. You should watch Frescos of the inner ceiling of dining room. Location of this hotel is also very good, it close from Firenze SMN station and the bus terminal.
The room was very nice and clean- comfortable beds, hardwood floors, cute window shutters (the type you would expect in Italy!),and street views. The breakfast was included and although a small collection, decent charcuterie and cheeses, nice selection for fresh bread, and delicious cappacinos. Although all espresso is better than what we have in the U.S. Also, you can sit outside, and see the amazing rooftop views! It was the best way to enjoy breakfast, even while it was a bit chilly. The bathroom had a bidet (most did) which I wish we had in the U.S. Also, a convenient drying rack for socks/undies. Clean and nice sized bathroom. The hotel was in a perfect location- we were able to get to all tourist destinations by foot and metro.
We had three people and it can be difficult to find a room that is comfortable. The room was large and we loved it. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The location was fantastic. I was nervous based on some of the reviews, but we have no complaints. We did not hear anything outside our room and we were on the first floor. I would book this hotel again
This cute hotel totally charmed us. The room was larger than we expected and clean and comfortable. The hotel has no elevators, but we actually love stairs and never use them anyway. They have a quiet courtyard with citrus trees that is perfect for an afternoon glass of wine from their bar. The bar is modest and low key, not a noise maker. The staff made us completely feel at home. The towels in our room were exceptional. Nice visit!
The service was not great here and the room was hot with the aircon not sitting where it would give the best breeze. Unfortunately again we went through the " lucifer " of all summers so it was hard to look at it in a great way. I must add that we had the best spaghetti in Florence as having Pizza's so far have been a bitter disappointment as they're all made on Pita bread? The organised tour to see the see the statue of David was far too long and extended because of the huge crowds so we were both happy to miss the rest of the guided tour. Tip. Buy front of line tickets but DON'T go on guided tours.
We stopped at Palazzo dal Borgo whilst on a trip around Italy for our honeymoon. The hotel is in a great location to explore the city of Florence and very close to the main Duomo. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We even had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco brought to our room. Our room was spacious and clean and overlooked the little courtyard which was quiet overnight. The breakfast was served in the courtyard which was a lovely setting and the breakfast is good quality with a wide range of choices. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay here again. Thank you for making our trip extra special!
Built in 1480 with a period theme right through is quaint and great if you can pull it off. I think they did, but what comes with a very old building is a rabbit warren of corridors, small lifts, small doors and lots of small sets of stairs to match levels up. The room its self was fine in period furniture and colourings but dark. Bath room was reasonably modern and fine. Bed was hard, which seems to be a theme in Italy. WiFi great at breakfast, unusable in the room with 2' thick brick walls everywhere. Breakfast was basic for non Italians with, as usual, a large selection of sweet cakes and biscuits for the locals. Staff were pleasant. A night our two would be fine, any longer, look elsewhere would be my recommendation.
