We had three people and it can be difficult to find a room that is comfortable. The room was large and we loved it. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The location was fantastic. I was nervous based on some of the reviews, but we have no complaints. We did not hear anything outside our room and we were on the first floor. I would book this hotel again
This cute hotel totally charmed us. The room was larger than we expected and clean and comfortable. The hotel has no elevators, but we actually love stairs and never use them anyway. They have a quiet courtyard with citrus trees that is perfect for an afternoon glass of wine from their bar. The bar is modest and low key, not a noise maker. The staff made us completely feel at home. The towels in our room were exceptional. Nice visit!
The service was not great here and the room was hot with the aircon not sitting where it would give the best breeze. Unfortunately again we went through the " lucifer " of all summers so it was hard to look at it in a great way. I must add that we had the best spaghetti in Florence as having Pizza's so far have been a bitter disappointment as they're all made on Pita bread? The organised tour to see the see the statue of David was far too long and extended because of the huge crowds so we were both happy to miss the rest of the guided tour. Tip. Buy front of line tickets but DON'T go on guided tours.
We stopped at Palazzo dal Borgo whilst on a trip around Italy for our honeymoon. The hotel is in a great location to explore the city of Florence and very close to the main Duomo. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We even had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco brought to our room. Our room was spacious and clean and overlooked the little courtyard which was quiet overnight. The breakfast was served in the courtyard which was a lovely setting and the breakfast is good quality with a wide range of choices. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay here again. Thank you for making our trip extra special!
Built in 1480 with a period theme right through is quaint and great if you can pull it off. I think they did, but what comes with a very old building is a rabbit warren of corridors, small lifts, small doors and lots of small sets of stairs to match levels up. The room its self was fine in period furniture and colourings but dark. Bath room was reasonably modern and fine. Bed was hard, which seems to be a theme in Italy. WiFi great at breakfast, unusable in the room with 2' thick brick walls everywhere. Breakfast was basic for non Italians with, as usual, a large selection of sweet cakes and biscuits for the locals. Staff were pleasant. A night our two would be fine, any longer, look elsewhere would be my recommendation.
Hotel was amazing steps going in so wait for someone to help you with your luggage. The hotel receptionists were really friendly and happy to help. The rooms were lovely and quaint and had the main facilities. The breakfast is continental so don't expect omlette fried or poached eggs. The location was great five minute walk from the train station but the actual street was very noisy at night as it had a lot of restaurants and pubs on it so if you are a light sleeper this isn't for you as the windows are not double glazed! This hotel is near the main sites by walking. A good stay and something different then a modern hotel deco. Also don't forget you will have to pay for city tax.
stayed here during our recent visit to Florence for 2 nights. Picked the hotel as it was close to the train station and the cathedral and Duomo. As we were staying only for a day in Florence did not want to bother with transportation. The hotel itself was charming , staff friendly. The included breakfast was great and the outdoor dining room was great to sit down for breakfast Room was spacious and kids loved the canopy beds. The hotel does show age in some places but did not bother us. Overall had a great stay
Located close to station, 5 minutes. Supermarket close by. Numerous small mixed businesses Nearby to buy water or alcohol. Hotel staff very friendly and speak English. There could be a few steps to navigate inside hotel depending were your room is. Easy 10 minute walk to cathedral and pointe vecchio and palazzo vecchio.
The Palazzo del Borgo is a great hotel, with rooms that truly make you feel like you are hosted by a king in Florence. The staff is nice and they offer a nice spread for breakfast. There is also a nice patio area with table and chairs and nice flowers and lemon trees in the center of the ground floor where you can have a nice picnic. The rooms have high ceilings and the decor would make you think you are in a castle but with the modernities of today. If you get a room that faces the street you will get a nice view of the buildings across the street which I loved as the light changes the window of those buildings take a life of their own. Also in the main lobby there is a bathroom that you must go into just to make sure that you see the decor in it. Laundromat is only two blocks away and the washing machines include all detergent, softner, all you have to do is bring your laundry put it in the machine and put your money in.
The hotel is located in a historic building pretty close to the city center, about 10 minutes of walking to Santa Maria del Fiore. The room itself was the largest I ever had, with ceilings at least 5 meters high. That's certainly a novel experience. However, the hotels gets a lot of small details wrong, too many to be acceptable at 250 euro per night. The beds were designed to look historic, but in practice were squeaky and made noise at the slightest movement. The furniture were meant to be likewise historic, but no two items were the same style or color. There was no kettle or coffee maker in the room, and no glasses either (the glasses were provided by the staff when I asked). The bathroom had an annoying motion sensor, which turns out the light if you take shower for more than 5 minutes. One of the lights was flickering, the basin was shaking, the facet handle is so long it basically sticks in your face, and the shower itself might be cleaner. WiFi was rather spotty. The breakfast was ok.
