it is not a luxury hotel. But for the price its wort the money. The reception gave my a warm welcome and before i even asked they gave me a map over the city and started to explain were to take the buss and place to go wort seeing. The room wasentbig but as the rest of the hotel very neat and every detail is godd taste.. the bed was comfortoble and the room was very clean. i had everything i needed.the bathroom is maby a little to smal but it works..its easy to get to al the touristatractions but anyhow a calm place little a side of the more bussy places.the service was exelent and the staff kind and helpfull..reakfast was godd for being a italian breakfast. i got fresch fruits and yougert cakes and bread honey and jam, nutella jucie capocino and cornflakes. the only thing is if you have difficult with stairs this is not a place to go. its many stairs up to the first flor were the reception are and the hotelantrance..
This was a repeat stay for us and everything was as nice as ever. They converted some spaces to include a few more rooms, but the prices are about the same as is the warm reception from the family owned hotel. Can't say enough positive things about this experience.
Our room was on the top floor under the roof. We checked in lately so the personnel were absent. So I wrote a e-mail and was told how to get inside and where get the key. Rooms are clean include TV. Wi-fi worked well but not rapid. Breakfasts are very poor. We ate in the city. For the money aske it is one of the best offers in Florence I think. Guys who are cleanin the rooms can open doors from outside even if key is left in keyhole, no tables with clean my room/non distirb.
Stayed for two nights in a double room with shared facilities, although we did have a shower in the room and the bathroom was opposite our room. Pros include friendly staff, the option of breakfast for an additional €5 and the low price. Cons include the location, a reasonable walk from the centre and even further from the station, and the lack of the air conditioning. Breakfast was adequate but consisted mainly of pre-packaged croissants and cakes rather than the fresher options we had available in other places, we had it one morning but there were plenty of options in the city that fared better for our second morning. The fact that reception was not manned before 8:30am (when the big attractions open before then, and quickly build up long queues) or after 8:30pm combined with the location meant that we weren't able to organise leaving our bags while we explored on our final day instead we ended up paying for the left luggage at the train station. All in all, it was a reasonable budget option, but I wouldn't strongly recommend it - I reckon there's better out there for similar money/better location.
Out of many low priced hotels in popular tourist centers, this was the worst stay. It didn't start off very well when we found out the receptionist didn't properly charged our credit cards the way we had discussed. There was no air conditioning which made it hard to sleep. The shower was in the room, but the toilet was not and it was shared with other guests.
We had a nice time at this hotel! I do not recommend the breakfast (too sweet for my nordic taste heh), but overall it is a nice place to stay at! No problem with sharing the bathroom and the hosts are really friendly! Clean and fresh! Convenient with a shower and sink in the room! We did not experience noise at all when staying at Hotel Masaccio! At a nice distance from the city centre, and a beautiful stroll with il duomo as view when entering the city!
I had a pleasant stay. Everything was well prepared. Nothing needs to be improved. I stayed in September 2015(6nights 7days). The room and common bathroom were well cleaned. The bed make was done every day. The receptionist gave me enough information. If I could give a suggestion, the supermarket Masaccio and the Post office in Piazza della Liberta could be useful information for Japanese tourist. The macelleria on the crossing of Viale Minzoni and Via Antonio is also good for me. Thanks to the receptionist’s information, I could find Abbazia di San Minato al Monte. Michelin green guide Japanese version does not mention of it. Breakfast were always served well. I will try the dinner at the next time. The name is interesting. It came from an old famous painter.
We stayed in Hotel Masaccio for one night on our way to another city. We arrived a few hours after check-in had closed, but the staff gave us all the information we needed on how to check-in by ourselves, so our arrival went smoothly. Friendly and welcoming hotel and staff! Room: Was really nice. Clean, not to warm inside (we had 35C outside) and a comfortable bed. Bathroom/shower: The shower was in the room, but toilet was shared with other guests. But it was clean and nice. Wifi: Free wifi Location: 20 min from railway station About 10 min from Duomo 2 min from a huge supermarket Hotel: The hotel offered breakfast for 5€ and also had nice restaurant. Check-out at 10AM - since we arrived at night on check-in, we were'nt to happy about this checkout time, but the hotel offered to store our luggage, while we went out experiencing the city. Recommended!
Not the cleanest place I have ever been to. Lack of private parking. Cost is pretty big but in compare to other Florence options attractive. Good access to city centre. Next time I would choice sth more expensive but more pleasent.
Admittedly, this hotel is not located centrally, but if you don't mind a 20 minute quiet walk into the center then it's really no big deal. This small walk into the center reflects the budget price the hotel offers. The staff are very friendly, informative and helpful. The breakfast included is what you would expect for the budget price, if not even better. There was a wide range of pastries, fruit and cakes. The rooms are cleaned to an adequate standard every day. Our room was equipped with a fan as well which was welcome in the warm weather. The double beds ate absolutely massive too. My only qualm with this hotel is that I think someone may have been smoking in their room, which gave the communal areas a stale smell but this could have been a one off incident. But overall a lovely budget hotel with friendly informative and helpful staff.
