Already 4 times in Florence and this hotel still is one of my favorite place to stay and relax. A lot of new big changes from this 2018, starting from tasty coffee and high speed wifi conection. There are works in progress for a a new opening caffetteria just inside the hotel. Absolutely will be back on my next trip.in florence. Great job doing with welcoming so warm and ready to satisfy all your request.
Pros: 1. Location is excellent - next to SMN train station and the bus station 2. Clean 3. Easy 10 minute walk to the Duomo/central florence 4. Quiet 5. Good shower 6. Decent wifi 7. Friendly staff and good service Cons: 1. Old/dated hotel 2. Not enough sockets in the room 3. Breakfast selection could be better/have maybe 1 more staff member I think I was a little disappointed in the quality of the room and bed for what I paid. The hotel needs an upgrade.
First time in Florence, first time in Italy. I'm a 27 year old woman who decided to travel solo, to get out of my comfort zone and experience new things..and I did..I was quite nervous at first, but the advice and attentiveness of the staff let me relax and have the best trip I could've asked for. I set up many tours prior to coming to Italy but the day and night without any tours turned out to be the best of all. The front desk staff was able to give me advice on the best spots, restaurants, and scenery with the kind of insight you can only get from a local person. I'm not very good with directions but I catch on quickly and the front desk took the time to go over it with me and mark all the routes on my map. I was able to set my own pace and had time to walk to each location without difficulty. . Though the hotel is on a busy street the noise was minimal because of the windows and shutters. The bathroom and shower were both spacious. I've read reviews from some people that the room was small, I disagree. Perhaps it's only because I am one person who does not take up much space. However I believe I would've been comfortable sharing the room with another person. Santa Maria Novella train station is within sight of front door..the hotel only lacked in breakfast selection which could be more varied, adding and making changes to the menu would be nice.. All in all I regret splitting my trip between Florence and Rome, the hotel in Florence was superior to my other hotel in every respect. I hope to return one day.
Great hotel the Hotel Boccaccio and have visited the last three years. Great location near the train station very close distance walking to the Duomo Markets and Anno River. Very clean rooms and a good breakfast. The staff is very kind and caring. Would stay here again because of the great people who work here. Hopefully will get back again someday.
I have read other reviews of this hotel complaining of the small rooms and this is true, but in comparison to my experiences of hotel staff in Rome this place was a delight. They couldn't have been more helpful. Always smiling and ready with a solution. The location is close to the station and don't forget to eat at Buca di Mario amazing.
As others have stated already it is very close to the station so convenient since we were logging 2 large suitcases down the road. We did have a very small room, couldn't turn too much in there, it was at the end of the hall way at the front of the hotel so with traffic passing by it can be a bit noisy. Try to get a room away from the front. The reception guys were all very friendly and helpful. I read about the breakfast woman in the reviews before going so was warned but you know what, I smiled and said good morning and thanks when she brought in the coffee and she was alright and actually could muster a smile back.
The location of the hotel was great and the staff was very helpfull. The rooms where not that great, we had to move the table in our room to find a plug to charge our phone and that was the only plug, and we had problems sleeping beacuse the airconditioner was very loud. Great location, helpfull staff, bad rooms.
We been staying here for 4 nights, Everything is close and walking distance, a convenient spot and not a busy place as Duomo. Energetic youthful Reception guy was great, with fully introduction to us once we arrived. Showing us loads of details check point from Statue David to best gelato in town. Room cleaning staff are all skillfull. They made our messy room tidy and organise daily. Daily breakfast buffet was a bonus. Choice of course will not be excepted like those chain brand hotel. But the homey, hearty friendly atmosphere do really made you feel home, tho tasteful coffee was another huge bonus. Location spot is just stone thrown to train station. My daily routine starts there for the yarn show, so we picked this hotel. Tho Walking to Duomo with lots of shops to check through our way was about 20minutes, but you will never get tired of checking out all these little fancy shops daily located in all these historical beautifully built buildings. We will come back for its location, hearty breakfast, excellent staff and amazing price😎
I was very happy with this hotel. It is so near to the railway station and the airport bus stop that I could actually see them from my window . My window was facing the railway station but it was not noisy at all. The thick glasses and the wooden shutters left all the noise outside (except ambulance sirens). The room clean and had everything I needed. The towels were changed daily. I liked the old charm in the decorations. There is also a lovely terrace in the first floor for guests. The breakfast was ok. The Wi-Fi signal was not very good as other people have commented here. I didn't meet any unfriendly ladies. Everybody was very helpful and polite. I could definitely come back here again .
Rooms small but clean. Close walking distance from train station and bus station. Also close walking distance to town center and river. Too little options for charging your phone or laptop. WiFi exists for every floor but not so good speed. If your room face the road to train station perhaps you will have a noise problem at night. Didn't have breakfast even if it was included. There are some good options to have a nice cup of coffee and good croissans on the way to town center from St.Novella square onwards. The lift starts quick when you press button make sure you will not leave your roommates behind.
