My friend and I stayed at The Balestri between 11th and 14th of January. From the moment of our arrival to our departure the staff and service were faultless. My friend is notoriously fussy and she was nothing but delighted with The Balestri. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned daily and the staff all understood the meaning of hospitality, which is sometimes rare. For example the porter Marian, had to cope with room changes several times because of our indecision but did not let us feel the inconvenience. The reception staff, particularly Vania, provided excellent concierge services without which we may have not enjoyed the city or our stay quiet as much. The management should be congratulated on their excellent staff, service and hotel.
The building is in an amazing position :the view of Ponte Vecchio is breath taking. Every person working there was wonderful and extremely helpful. Perfectly located close to all the major sites and shopping.Tasty breakfast.Highly recommended!
My wife, son and I spent 3 nights in this hotel in a triple room. It's located just by the river within a few minutes walk to the Uffizi Gallery. We arrived at night and at the time the single Receptionist was busy with another guest. As there were no other staff available we had to wait a little while before being checked in. Other than for this minor inconvenience we found the hotel to be very good. The rooms was spacious and the bathroom in particular was quite spectacular. We had beautiful views of the river and to the opposite bank from our room. We found the room temperature to be a little too warm but this was easily rectified after informing Reception. Breakfast was perfect with great staff who served nice coffee and with even champagne on offer! Reception staff were also very helpful in printing various entry tickets for us when required. We asked for a late check out as our train out to Rome was late in the evening. However, they could give us only an additional hour as the hotel was full but we did store our luggage there until required later in the day. Overall a very good hotel (a gem actually) and I would certainly stay here again on future trips to Florence.
We used Florence as our 'home base' as we traveled multiple days to both Rome and Venice. The hotel had storage and offered to have our large suit cases held while we were traveling and traveled back to stay, it was so convenient. Not to mention this hotel has nice elegant style with the best hotel service and hospitality. The hotel is very clean and centrally located to walk to all of the sites. The hotel had breakfast daily for their guests and it was very good. We will be back and stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel, this is your place.
Me and my girlfriend stayed here but just for one night. Unfortunately because we found an excellent hotel, with all the 4 star very deserved. Excellent position, excellent hospitality desk (very professional Kim!!) as the breakfast. So excellent report quality-price. We were very very well impressed and we will return for sure.
This hotel is elegant and chic the rooms are well presented with a modern Italian twist. The hotel staff was polite and attentive very knowledge able about local attractions and make excellent restaurant recommendations. The Staff made sure we had a good time whilst in the city! I look forward to staying here again when I return to the city! The hotel is in a great location central to all the attractions. A great place to come back to after a long day exploring the city!
The hotel has been recently rennovated and is a very short walk from most of the major sites. The other advantage is that it is far enough away so that you don't have the noise and crowds (at last not as much). Rooms overlooking the river are really nice. Breakfast was very good, but not the best that I've had in other hotels in Rome or Florence of comparable cost. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I'd go back. Wasn't sure why but I saw the sign for Cafe Balestri but it looks like the restaurant isn't open. LIkewise, the lounge seemed to be closed as well. No problem, there are hundreds of restaurants within walking distance.
Right on the banks of the river, the newly renovated Balestri is wonderfully located within a 5 minute walk of the Uffizi, or Florence's main square. Nice staff, nice breakfast and in our case a small balcony though it did not allow a view of the bridge as advertised (or perhaps heavily inferred). Smallish room with little storage place so not ideal for travelers with lots of luggage or planning a longish stay. But good for its purposes.
I spent 2 nights here and will return if i'm in Florence again (which I hope I will be!) Friendly efficient staff, a small but well designed and equipped room (with a huge shower!) A comfortable bed and an amazing location just 5 minutes walk from the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio. The buffet breakfast was good - but I didn't try the restaurant for dinner - there are dozens of places to eat within 5 minutes stroll. Highly recommended.
My husband and I stayed here during a recent trip to Florence and had a wonderful experience. Maurizio and all of the front desk staff were very helpful. The room was clean and beautiful and the bed was really comfortable with great linens. It was also conveniently located. I would definitely stay here again!
