Great location within walking distance to almost everything. Arrived early in the am, way before check-in time. Staff was accommodating with holding luggage and reviewing a map of highlights in the area. 4th floor room was clean, and faced the back of hotel. There was a little road noise coming through the window. The breakfast was plentiful. The bar staff and breakfast staff were very friendly. The front desk staff is the shining star of this hotel. They went out of their way to reccomend and book great restaurants. Being well traveled, I can tell you the staff is well trained in hospitality! Without hesitation, I highly reccomend this hotel!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Balestri. Everything is small in this hotel but it is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the BEST and I ordered many "altro" cappuccinos before heading out for the day. We didn't have much of a view but that was ok. There was a little shop on the corner if you want to get snacks or water. Very cheap too. The location is phenomenal. A short walk along the river and you reach some of the best places to visit. We liked Venice, really liked Rome, but adored Florence. Each night we came home a wonderful opera singer was singing in a square along our journey, it was so romantic.
We stayed in this hotel from 26th April to 29th April, 2017. While the room was good enough for the three of us (my husband, my 16 year old son and me), the highlight was the amazing view we had! We were in a room facing the Arno river and it was so beautiful gazing out the window in the morning and the night! The room was clean and quite spacious. The other highlight was the staff who were very helpful and friendly! Also, the location of the hotel was very good...we could easily walk everywhere!
Had a very tough time to choose a hotel to stay for 4N while in Florence. This is a very well located hotel, along the river, 5mins walk to ponte vecchio, 20mins to walk all the surrounding tourists attractions. Front desk staff service was outstanding & provided excellent meals recommendations. Rooms are abit small, so do check the room sizes before booking. Double beds are 2 single beds combined into one.. so abit uncomfortable. otherwise, definitely will return.
The Balestri hotel is a hidden gem among the vast offer in Florence, the rooms are big enough, very clean, beds are very comfortable, the bathroom was spotless with top of the line furniture (sink, wc, shower, etc). Breakfast has a limited offer but very fresh ingridients and great service, the coffe and croissants were the best in our trip, Location is great, 1 block from ponte vecchio and 5 min to piazza della signoria, the backstreet (Via del Neri) is full of restaurants and shops, I will definetily stay here again.
This is a very well situated hotel. Very nice. Excellent staff. Concierge / front desk is truly outstanding. I was traveling alone and asked for the least expensive room. I got room 110. Very nice room, very well appointed. NO view. I was not there to hangout in the room. The location is perfect for exploring Florence and for renting a car and visiting Tuscany. The staff arranged a car rental. Had it delivered to the hotel (and picked up from the hotel) and gave us a sample itinerary. Walking around the city from the hotel was easy. Breakfast was nice. Functional, not special. Lobby bar looked good.
From the moment you check in the staff are super helpful. The rooms are great - not overly huge but definitely big enough! Comfy bed. Breakfast was fantastic. Walking distance to everything. We would definitely stay here again!
I was in Florence working and had been booked into the hotel for a one night stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely, very clean, large bed, plenty of space, and a large bathroom with one of those gorgeous, huge over head showers which come out like a waterfall and drench you. I had a view of the Arno river and could just about see the Ponte Vecchio bridge. I slept really well, there was some noise from outside but nothing that was too disturbing. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and tea or coffee served to your table. I cannot fault this hotel and would stay again when revisiting Florence.
This is a drop dead gorgeous hotel. Added to that, the rooms are quiet and very clean - with lovely additions to make you comfortable (slippers, robes etc). Our rooms had a view of the Arno which was, of course, perfect. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were delightful. Walking distance to everything. I would highly recommend this hotel.
What a great welcome from the staff. Quickly got us organised for tours and visits and restaurants. Without their help our Weekend would have been really frustrating with endless waiting. Hotel was extreme comfortable, lovely view of the Arno River across to Piazza Del Michelangelo. Florence was behind our expectations- the monuments, paintings, history. The delight of walking down the lanes, the restaurants all great. A trip by public bus to to village of Fiesole and a meal overlooking Florence from the restaurant La Regina declined Etruschi made for a very special final evening for us.
