Arrived late into the evening and met with a warm, friendly smile. :) The room was a great size, clean with a modern bathroom - cant go wrong for what you're paying. My only niggle was the beds are really quite hard and the walls in room were thin. Could literally hear every toss and turn from the guy next door. Perfect wee bus journey into Florence (no.22). Like i said perfect for a budget stay and the staff are lovely x

We stayed as part of our Weekender trip which also included Venice and the hotels were part of the packaged break. It was 20 minutes by bus to the centre of Firenze (Florence) and you could buy bus tickets from reception at 1.20 euros each way (the bus sold them for 2 euros); you validated them as you got in board and they are valid for 90 minutes so you can get on and off in that time. The bus stop was only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and we caught the No. 22 bus from the train station to the hotel and back. City tax was charged at 4 euros ppsn/per night and was paid in cash on arrival. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was a lift. It was small but there was a fridge and a small balcony; it was ensuite with a small shower and a coat rail in the room as well as a double bed snd wardrobe. It was quite claustrophobic but we were out all day and back early evening so it didn’t bother us too much. A safe in the room would have been nice. The receptionist was very helpful at all times and even printed our voucher for Doumo when we booked on-line. All staff at reception day or night greeted us in a friendly manner at all times and we were recommended a nice pizza restaurant called Pizzaria Stargate, 10 minutes walk from the hotel on our first evening for dinner. After that we would eat in town before returning as there was more choice. Breakfast was a very good Continental fare with plenty of choice and it was nicely laid out. It was served in the bar area, although the bar wasn’t open when we were there but if you asked reception I think they would have served you a drink or a coffee in the evening if you wanted one. Our stay was pleasant but we would have preferred to be closer to the city as the buses got very full and you often had to stand (they cram up to 100 people with only 20 seats).

Stayed for 2 nights. Arrived quite late and staff extremely welcoming and helpful but rooms are out dated and bed was like a board very hard sleep. Rooms very clean and staff excellent. Great and easy commute into the centre of florence no. 22 bus just round the corner. A few restaurants and cafe's close buy and an excellent food stall just outside serving drinks and local street food. when here a must is taking the bus up to Michelangelo's Piazza - bus cost 2 euros and views are amazing seeing the whole panoramic view of the city. pre-book museums or sights to see though as even in March queues are ridiculous waste of time. Beautiful place to go though.....

Not sure of rating, but barely 3 star. Room functional, but basic. Small TV very few channels, mattresses very hard and very uncomfortable. Reported mirror light and loose fitting on the shower, not attended to while there. Could hear neighbour snoring, toilet upstairs when flushed, lady puking half the one night. Did not get much sleep! Breakfast OK, selection reasonably good continental.

Turned up here and was firstly taken back by the 70’s budget style hotel. The area is a very rough looking place with ladies of the night working. Once booked in we was greeted by a room that had basic furnishing - VERY basic. The walls are so thin we could enjoy the delights of other rooms noises, this is the only hotel I have found it necessary to prop a chair against the door, this is how unsafe we felt. Our visit to this wonderful city was extremely good but at no point in the day could we look forward to going back to our room for a break and put your feet up. The thought of this was met with dread. Breakfast was horrible, and I’m not normally fussy. Bus route to centre is very easy< number 22 there and back. To round it off DONT GO HERE, it will ruin your visit to this great city.

We stayed here as part of a package, staying at Rome and Venice also, I think this was the poorest hotel we stayed in in the deal, it wasn’t awful, but first impression was Oh No, this is basic. It is basic but clean and quite well equiped, the reception needs to let some light in, and open all the drapes/curtains, as first impression was dark and dull... The staff were very good, rooms were large but no soft furnishing so seemed quite hard. With a better deco, this hotel could appeal more

So from the moment we arrived at this hotel we could tell it wasn't what we expected. The area was very congested and the locals didn't seem to know how to pick up their dog poo (it was everywhere). As we walked into the hotel the greeting was poor and we didn't seem to receive a welcome - more like pay your city tax heres your room. As we went into the room it was very basic with little furniture, the bed didn't even have a duvet, just a sheet and a thin blanket. We found its was a long way into the centre of Florence and travel was long winded. First night we returned home around 19.00hrs and the people upstairs were having some form of party in their room - this went on until at least 23.00hrs, consisted of loud bangs all speaking and laughing loudly and they kept me awake after a long day of travelling. The rooms are not very sound proof either so you hear your neighbouring room having a shower using the toilet etc. Breakfast choice was very limited and i couldn't find anything i liked, and if you don't get there early enough then everything is stale and doesn't taste great. Overall a poor stay. Would not recommend. Better off finding one in the heart of Florence pay more for better quality and service.

Stayed for two nights recently. Room was a bit bare, but clean and comfortable enough. Plenty of room for the three of us (double & single bed). Warm enough, with working air con. Breakfast was the only food we ate in the hotel - it was fresh and tasty enough, but a bit limited in the range of food offered. Coffee and juice was fine. Hotel is about 25 mins from Florence by bus - the bus is very regular, cheap and popular (so gets a bit busy). Bus stop is about 50 yards from the front door. The area has a few cafes and coffee shops about, and it felt safe enough when wandering at night. Staff were very helpful although short in number due to the time of year of our stay.

We didn't pick this hotel ourselves, it was part of a package...but it did tick all of the boxes, just without excelling anywhere...but you always have to keep in mind it is a budget hotel, so in that respect it did the job adequately. The front desk was welcoming and efficient, the room was decent size, with a tiny bathroom, but also included a balcony (although not with a very nice view). The bed was clean, firm but a bit creaky...and the walls were quite thin! A very small tv was fitted and the aircon worked well. Breakfast was well presented and offered a good choice. It is just around the corner of bus route 22 which goes right into the city (calling at the main station) and runs every 5 or 6 minutes. For the princely sum of 2 euros if you pay the driver or 1 euro 20 cents if you get a prepaid ticket. Would I use it again? Depends on how far my budget would stretch. There are probably worse hotels...and probably better hotels too!

We were a little concerned after reading some reviews about this place. Bad reviews can sometimes be very harsh but, this place isn’t great and 4.5km out from Florence. The bus is regular, popular and extremely busy and gets very cramped and at 25 minutes each way it’s not a nice experience especially if you have luggage. We took the bus in each evening and got a taxi back at 25€ a pop to avoid the bus experience late at night. Watch the taxis too some will try & rip you off. Our room was bare with cold lino flooring and walls that needed painting and an unfinished painted ceiling. It was dusty on the tables, lamps, beside the bed and dirt and cobwebs in the corners of the room. The bed was squeaky a reasonable size and comfortable but, furnished only with a bottom and single top sheet and an itchy bedspread no duvet. The bathroom is clean but cramped with a small shower, not the worst I’ve used. I asked at reception if we could upgrade to a better room as it was my wife’s 50th but, the grumpy receptionist just said “That’s it, all the rooms are the same” The restaurant was a tip on our first visit for breakfast, tables full with dirty cutlery whilst staff were busy chatting. Foods not great either, only one side of the toaster works and their coffee is vile. The attitude of the restaurant staff could do with improving, on our 2nd visit a disgruntled waitress had the nerve to tell us off like naughty children for putting our cereal bowls on the next table to make room to eat. We were their for 4 nights and never went down for breakfast again. Another couple we met were complaining too saying their room was freezing. They were awoken at 2am with someone moving furniture above their room. The hotel is very noisy. Do your research and find somewhere else closer and much better to stay in Florence, we certainly won’t be returning to the Hotel Dive-A again.
