We had this hotel booked as part of a tour of Italian cities, it was pre booked by the tour operator. Situated a 20 minute bus ride from the centre which is OK. Our room however was what I can only describe as tired. Pale yellow plain walls, old fashioned furniture. The bed was in an alcove which felt hemmed in. Bathroom in serious need of updating. Only bath towels provided, we had linen serviettes as hand towels. The whole place felt depressing so we found somewhere else to stay!!!
The staff are kind and happy the linen is nice and the hotel is clean. Breakfast ok but basic. The Hotel itself is so dated and the walls are so thin,so much so that you can hear the person in the surrounding rooms turn over in bed, this dose not make for a good nights sleep. If you are looking to stay here to see Florence this hotel is quite a long way out, transportation is quite cheap but very slow because of the traffic . We were unable to find anywhere close by to eat so had to eat in the evening before returning to the hotel as it was not easy to pop back to shower and change before going out to dinner in the city centre . So on balance not one for us.
The hotel itself is located at the very outskirts of city . It's very dated! It's in a 50's time warp. when we saw the room we are disappointed ...it was very old and smelly..i have never expected this kind of hotel in Europe..no restaurant in the hotel or nearby...toilet is very small..Air conditioning not working ..it was bad night sleep for us..breakfast is worst ...reception staff is not that good..will never visit again..
Nothing bad to say about Diva Hotel. Easy to get to by bus from the central station. Friendly and helpful staff to greet you on arrival and very helpful with tips for your stay. Room was very cosy and very clean. Wide choice of breakfast, the pastries in particular were delicious! Thank you Diva Hotel for making our stay in Florence even better!
We stayed at this hotel as it was part of a package. The other hotel was excellent and regrettably the Diva was just not in the same league. First impressions, it smelled, it was in a 70's time warp, the room was small- but clean. The air con didn't work and the shower slow and the temperature fluctuated. The staff were friendly and helpful but lacked good local knowledge. As there is no restaurant we were directed to next door hotel. No bar there and it too smelled, this time of burnt cheese. We found an excellent restaurant close by, Portico 91, and would recommend that after a long day doing Florence.
The hotel itself is located at the very outskirts of city . It's very dated! It's in a 50's time warp. We arrived late and wanted to eat dinner in hotel but they didn't offer dinner so sent us to another hotel that was not even open at 7.30 . They don't have a bar either but serve some drinks in their breakfast room but not after 10 .. this is not somewhere I'd visit again
We stayed here for a couple of nights and very glad it was not longer. The hotel has 3 stars but is very basic. The room was quite small and very plain. More functional than anything else. The shower was adequate but had little power. The worst part is the bed which was rock hard. My back and hips still ache now and I really struggled to sleep. On a positive note the hotel was spotlessly clean and the breakfast had a reasonable cold selection. It is a little way out of town but easy to get to and fro on the overcrowded 22 bus that leaves not far from the hotel. Tickets are available at reception.
We checked in around 10pm upon arriving in Florence via train from Rome. We were a little tired and weary after the journey. A group of Spanish speaking ladies checked in in front of us and the desk Clark nipped away and returned with a bottle of wine which he charged to their room. When we went to check in he demanded we pay the city tax immediately not on check out and when we asked if we could get a drink from the bar to take upstairs he said the bar closed and 9.30pm but we could get water or soft drinks so we got a water and a coke which again he requested we paid for immediately. I couldn't quite fathom why literally 30seconds before the Spanish speaking ladies were served wine and it was charged to the room but I was too tired to give it much thought. When we got upstairs we found the room to be cold, antiquated and very very basic. The single beds were comfy but absolutely tiny - so much so I couldn't actually roll over. Also, the walls are so thin you could hear everyone use the toilet, cough and break wind throughout the night - let alone use the lift or walk the corridor. Very poor disrupted and cold nights sleep. The following morning we had breakfast in the bar, the room itself is dingy as they don't open the curtains but the breakfast is fine - yoghurt, fruit, egg, ham, cheese, pastries, bread etc good variety for a continental breakfast and the young girl is really pleasant and cheerful. The bus stop is just round the corner from the hotel at €2.40 return that's perfect to get you to be bus terminal (also train station) within 20 mins or so and the attractions of Florence start 5 mins walk from here. They are also building a metro line which will run to this hotel by 2018. (Florence is absolutely beautiful so quaint and such a relaxing place in comparison to the hustle and bustle of Rome for example.) After we spent the day in the city centre we got back to the hotel around midnight and had to shout the same night Clark again who came to reception from the bar where he was chatting with two guys who were drinking wine to give us our room key. When we got to the room it was really chilly so we rang down to ask for a blanket to be brought up. The night Clark replied that he couldn't as he had customers in the bar (we queried the fact that he had told us the night before the bar closed at 9.30, for which he had no answer and asked if we too could get a drink for which he said no.) When my partner went down to collect the blanket the two guys were drinking the wine on the lobby sofa - she questioned the bar times/ had we been in some way offensive or whether it was the fact we're English? One of the guys then said in an Italian accent - ' I'm English ....I'm from Ireland' ....erm wouldn't that make you Irish 🍀?? All in all a very odd experience with a very off hand night Clark whom for whatever reason appeared to take offence with us. We spoke with other guests on our last day who were similarly unimpressed and had found him stand off ish also. Sorry for the ramble.... but the night Clark really offended us!! Overall the hotel is, cold, poor, naff and scruffy so I honestly wouldn't recommend. The breakfast is good value for money though if you have already booked here.
It's quite far from Florence and the main attractions, but there's a good (and cheap) bus connection to the city. Tickets can be conveniently purchased from the hotel reception. However you lose precious time in travelling back and forth... Staff are very attentive and helpful. The rooms are quite small, but if you only spend the night (which you usually do), then it's OK. As everyone else here mentioned, the cleanliness is impeccable! The heating is actually an AC blowing warm air and it takes quite a while until the room is warm. It also produces annoying noise while blowing. Unfortunately the double beds are hopelessly uncomfortable. You wake up every morning with back pain. There's not much variety at breakfast, but OK to fill your stomach before leaving. All in all, definitely not on my top list.
This hotel is great if you're just looking for a base to settle in for a few days. It has all the essentials and is very clean. Only negative comment I would make is the mattress is very very hard - making it difficult to sleep at night. The hotel staff did everything they could for us; giving us a map and being a port of call for any issues we had. The breakfast is ok, moderate variety ranging from fruit to croissants. Not in the best location; 30 minutes from the centre of Florence (although the bus is fairly often, every 20 minutes.) This is a strong three star hotel - very clean and amazing staff.
