This hotel was very close to most historic locations in Florence. The dome and Ghiberti's doors were all within walking distance. Besides the great location, the hotel itself was amazing. It is built in a typical old florentine style so it gives off the feeling of staying in museum. The hotel also has windows that face a main street so you can get a feel for Florence without having to take a step outside your room. The only downside to this hotel is that it tends to get a little noisy at night because of it is located on a street with lots of pedestrian traffic.
I enjoyed not only its location but the gracious hosts. Duccio and his wife open not only their doors to travelers, but their heart to those of us who had the fortune to stay in their place. Warmth and affection is all you experience by staying there. The place is beautifully decorated, clean and confortable. Coffee is always at the tip of your hands and is located in the heart of historic Florence.
