This was a return visit to Florence. The AC Firenze was on the list from our vacation package with the airlines. It is a Marriott hotel and while not in our preferred location (Near the train station), it was relatively close. We checked with the hotel and were told it was a 10 minute walk from the train station. It was at least 15-20 minutes with luggage in tow, but not a problem overall. There is a tram that stops very close to the hotel, which we used often and it made everything more convenient. The hotel and the rooms were quite lovely and spacious, all very clean. The staff were impeccable and made you feel very welcome. There was a lovely morning breakfast bar, full American, with lots of choices. The one drawback is that there was not currently a restaurant in the hotel, although there was some arrangement for food service. There are several restaurants within walking distance and of course there is all of Florence as well. There is a newly renovated bar in the lobby. It is very attractively designed. It was not surprising to see business clientele at the hotel. The location may not be the most favored area for tourists since it is not right in the center of Florence but since anything we wanted to see or visit was within walking distance or accessible to public transportation, it was not a problem for us. We did NOT need to use a cab, although they were available. One additional feature is that there is a rooftop terrace that has a great view of the city, very pretty at night. We clearly would stay here again!
Had the pleasure of staying at this fine hotel. Dorio was amazing he checked us in and we constantly relied on him for directions and recommendations. He is an asset to the hotel. Breakfast was very good and they had a full bar. I was very impressed!
The location was perfect. The bed was so-so in comfort. The staff was ok - not too friendly, but functional. I will say it is hard to get in and out of the deep tub for the shower onto the slippery hard floor--and no safe hand-holds to do it. Television doesn't have much for English speakers. Internet is OK. The place does have parking, though, and it's central location is ideal.
Super friendly staff, beautiful hotel and great location. I enjoyed the happy hour snacks in the evening and the breakfast in the morning. Room are relatively small but well appointed, did not miss anything but enjoyed a relaxing stay - thank you AC hotel for a pleasant stay.
We arrived to Florence for a 2 day trip ... got an upgrade to a superior room. Spacious modern and very clean... beautifull decor if you like a clean look. Coffee machine was a welcomed surprise. Breakfast very good and fresh, nice ambiance... helpfull staff at front desk. The hotel is fairly close to central Florence and is walking distance depending on the weather. The only let down is that the area surrounding the hotel does not feel very safe late evening or sundays.
Located with a 25 minute walk to downtown Florence shopping area, or the train station the hotel provides a reasonable central location for a Florence visit. If you prefer the bus you can grab a one way or round trip ticket at the small bus ticket stand a 50 meters from the hotel door. The bus winds around the city by the train station and eventually you can get off a down town shop near the Pontivecio bridge. The hotel is one of the better AC hotels but the deluxe rooms are very small eve though fully equipped with hotel amenities. Nice TVs with a couple of English news channels, and WIFI upgrade speed was excellent at 19.68MBS, more than sufficient for streaming movies. Therefore, suggest you reserve a superior room that is slightly larger and will accommodate more than one suitcase. No Sauna, small fitness area, and an adequate breakfast was included in paid in advance with Visa; however, if you do not like scramble eggs then there is an additional charge for eggs to order.
I have stayed at almost 100 hotels in my lifetime and this is one of the biggest regrets. The hotel is farther from town center than advertised and definitely in a recently gentrified area. They were doing construction at the hotel and I was unable to nap due to all the drilling and hammering. The worst part was the staff was extremely rude, to the point I believe they are racist. I had pre-paid for the hotel and was screamed at by the front desk receptionist that I did not pay and I must pay. I asked to speak to the manager, who came out and corrected him because he doesn't know how to read the computer. He grudgingly apologized to me but it was appalling that anyone in customer service behaved like that, and that I had to be the one asking for manager help. This same front desk receptionist also refused to give me a room key when I left it in the hotel room the day before and insisted I gave him my credit card. I have never heard of this practice before - usually an ID is enough. I sincerely hope you train your staff better and fire this guy.
The hotel is very normal but if you are a tourist it is not a very good choice. There is a lot of value of money Hotel near the historical city. But You will be extremely disappointed if you are platinum member here , This AC Hotel do not provide anything for platinum - no upgrade , no breakfast , no lounge, no minibar and the queen bed in the room is the combination of 2 single bed. This make me not sleep well for 2 night. No view in the room. Anyway it is better to go for spg when you are Marriott platinum and happen to visit Florence
This AC is far from my favorite, but it's location is pretty reasonable and the price is great compared to other Marriott properties in the higher tourist associated part of the city. The lobby is actually nice (for an AC) and the bar is a good spot to grab a drink.
Hotel located in a good district with very good tram connection to center. Lots of restaurants and shop in soround. Frontdesk functional and minimum info submission. Room nice and functional, amenities on minimum set. No complementary water bottle or tea/coffee set. In second floor very noisy until late night and early mornings. Houskeeping good. Very cosy lobby and good breakfast with attentive service team.
