AC Hotel Firenze by Marriott

Stayed here for 3 nights, and overall experience was great. Room was comfy, breakfast buffet spread was alright and all amenities were provided. It takes about 15 mins walk to get to the main attractions, however there are nearby bus stops that can get you anywhere easily too. The gym was a little too small for me, and the window view out of hotel room aren't something extraordinary. Besides that, this will served as a good resting point in Florence to explore.

Only spent one night here while passing through Florence. Really liked the hotel, the staff, location is not extremely central but 15-20 minutes walk is nothing for me. Smallish gym but good for quick workout, haven’t tried the breakfast as was in a hurry. Parking is EUR18 a night which to me isn’t bad. I wish AC brand honor Marriott platinums more and provided free breakfast (EUR15 - which isn’t bad at all) / parking (only reason I give 4 stars). If I am in Florence again will stay here.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. I’ll start with the pros: Staff was very friendly. Room size was excellent and you couldn’t beat the patio and views at the top (for a suite room). Room was very clean and modernly furnished. Bed was even moderately comfortable. They included chocolates and wine with the room. Location wasn’t bad at all. About 20-30 mins walk to most places and there’s several bus stops close by if you don’t want to walk. Street noise was minimum with the windows closed. Cons: I requested that the heat be turned off in our room as soon as possible when we arrived since we like it around 18 degrees and it was milder temperatures outside. The man I spoke with assured me that guests were not allowed to turn on the heat until after 9pm (20:00) . When we got in the room, not only was the heat on but it was set to 23 degrees. Really? It felt like 30 degrees (86 Fahrenheit). On top of that, you couldn’t leave the windows open at night to keep the room cool because of outside noise and bugs. We opened the window hours before bed but as soon as we closed it, it would heat up fast. I tried to leave it open one night and lasted 20 mins. We were eaten alive by the bugs and the noise is too much. So there is no such thing as “temperature control” because all you can do is turn the heat off and open the windows. The other con is the bathroom constantly smelled like backed up sewage. If heat doesn’t bother you, then I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Visited Florence for 3 days over Easter weekend. Location was about 10-15 min drive to main attractions. Taxi to/from main areas was about 10-15 euro each trip depending on time/traffic (Easter). No AC in room, but with window open, room was more than cool enough and it was enjoyable to hear church bells. Left window open at night while sleeping also. Shower water was great for Florence. Ate breakfast at AC hotel everyday which was fantastic. Service was wonderful. Front desk was more than helpful. Closest train station Firenze SMN. Overall pleased.

Spent three nights here. Had one of the two suites on the 6th floor. It has its won patio overlooking the whole city so great view. The room was most excellent (great suite with nice large, functioning bathroom), hotel staff was nice and helpful all the way around. Had breakfast each morning which was very good. Ate dinner one night in the hotel. Food was very good, not a big menu but hotel is in an area with some limitations if you don’t want to walk too far, especially on a Sunday Night. I would defiantly come back and highly recommend.

This is a bit (20-minute) walk into town or food options, but rooms and grounds were clean and like other AC properties in Europe. We had poor service from Eliza and Omar that is not like the AC and Marriott brand we were used to. Inyaki the Manager was unable to provide a resolution, so I can't recommend this hotel due to its service.

I’m not going to mess around on this one... nice hotel. Good refurb. Great breakfast. Clean. Spotless in fact. Good shower for Firenze. Realistic minibar pricing. BUT... my room is boiling. The heating is not on, but it’s boiling. My room (411) is above the holding point for buses to start their route (queue the sound of idling Diesel engines most of the night). I asked reception if I could have the air con turned on. Alas, no! ‘We don’t turn the air con on until the summer’. ‘But I can’t sleep, it’s too hot’. ‘You could open the window’. ‘But it’s too noisy’. ‘Sorry, I can’t do anything’. It’s a shame, as I would not have had to write a poor review had I got some decent sleep... 15 hours in 3 nights is not enough when travelling on business. Please address your air con policy. It’s rubbish!

its a modern hotel was easy to reach, had a parking for my self drive car (at extra fee), decent breakfast spread and good kitchen for room service. even hop on and hop off bus stop is at a walking distance. the hotel is2 stations away from the central station. we ere there for three nights. i had a bad experience - i had erroneously left my bose headphones at the hotel locker after check out, which i never got back .i called them up numerous times but apparently housekeeping people did not find them.

This was a nice modern hotel to stay in during our few days in Florence. What it didn’t have in old fashioned charm it more than made up for with the service, quality and cleanliness. It was a good location to explore Florence, and the air con in the rooms was very helpful to stop us over heating.

Staying here for 4 days every year for the past 10 years. Nice comfortable, fairly modern hotel-small but good. Rooms are very comfortable. View from the room is generally not great. Lobby can get to be noisy with several conferences taking place here regularly. Breakfast room has ben changed with the food kept on the bar- terrible set up. Restaurant has beeb broken in part with this bar-bad idea for residents-perhaps great for boozers. Reception very courteous and quiick in responding. The inhouse restauarant has been also refurbished with no great difference. In general, the hotel seems to have come down a small notch!
