The 2-bedroom suite was Ok, but the second bedroom was tiny with a mattress that had seen better days. The continental breakfast was just serviceable; the only protein options were hard-boiled eggs and Jimmy Dean sandwiches.
Loved the fireplace with real wood. Beds were amazingly soft and comfortable.
Very nice and comfortable place to stay in Door County. Great staff, very clean, nice breakfast. Great location, easy drive to shopping and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay
Great hotel!
Wonderful property, wonderful staff, wonderful area. Loved everything about this hotel! Especially breakfast, very clean pool and sitting area with wood burning fireplace downstairs 😀
The grounds are very nice, the staff was very friendly.
Our stay was booked within a month of our travel towards the end of the season, so we felt very lucky to get a room in town. We stayed in Room #5 on the first floor, which was under the stairs leading to the second floor. I left this on the comment card, but perhaps this room just shouldn't be booked because we were woken up several times beginning at 5:30 AM each morning by the "thunder" of people using the stairs above our heads. We would absolutely like to stay again, but might book well in advance and request a room on the second floor and the opposite end from the check-in/dining room so we could have a quieter morning. The area surrounding the property was beautiful and we walked/hiked for about an hour in the trails and woods - minimal bugs, but wear your tall boots for the leaves to avoid ticks. Due to COVID, the continental breakfast was all individually packaged cold items - all fine, but I would have liked to see bottled water, though I know it isn't eco-friendly, just convenient if we don't have pitchers. Worth noting that multiple external doors to the hotel throughout our stay were not locked, and we could come and go as we pleased, but I would be wary if I were to bring children here.
Spacious room at a quiet location. A short driving gets you to the town center of Fish Creek where some restaurants are available.
Great place, booked for next year already!!
Love having the spa there. Very nice place. The only thing that would make it better would be a patio with each room.
I loved this hotel and spa. We’ll stay again!
My favorite place to stay in Door County! The most perfect cozy atmosphere!
The property was attractive and our room was very large and comfortable. We liked the outdoor pool very much and enjoyed walking on the trails located on the property. The staff was very friendly.
Quaint place with kitchenette. Clean, and they were great about a late check in. Wonderful location in Fish Creek.
Love the vintage cozy atmosphere. Continental breakfast is perfect to get you going. Will definitely stay again.
Great location! Rooms were nice and clean and quiet. We would stay there again!!
Room was clean, plenty of room. Continental breakfast had some great, quick options to start your day. Practiced good social distancing/options for cleaning room and getting your amenities. Don't let the review about "brown towels" turn you off - the towels are actually brown and absolutely fine. Staff was very friendly. We were on the go so didn't spend a ton of time at property other than sleeping. Definitely recommend!
So - the reviews I read had me a bit nervous. I don't know WHAT people are complaining about - this place is totally lovely. If you're looking for the 4 Seasons or the Plaza - then go pay $900 in New York City. For an Inn in Door County - this place is/was perfect. The people were super nice, there was a fire roaring, and the rooms were clean and well-appointed. Breakfast was a nice continental service with coffee, yogurts, breads, juices, instant oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, etc... (No, there isn't an omlet bar or french-pressed coffee. I'm ok with that.) It was quiet and peaceful - you can read a book by the fire or enjoy a conversation. There isn't a loud bar open til 2:30 am. The bed was cozy, comfy and the room was clean. The towels were brown - but seriously - that's a complaint? They were fuzzy and ample. I enjoyed the fireplace in front of the bed and the HUGE jacuzzi tub that I used A LOT. The hotel is on 42 but not in the middle of "crazy" - we were able to enjoy a quiet walk together on the property. There's no road noise or constant chatter of people outside the windows. Short drive to Fish Creek or Egg Harbor. I really enjoyed my stay - you should too. (That is, if you're not nit-picky about brown towels, a burn out light bulb, or breakfast items NOT baked locally.) If you're looking for a nice get-away, away from crazy, in a nice hotel with a supernice staff - book here. Highly recommend.
SOLID WOODS DOORS. NICE LAYOUT. LOVELY AREA. FRESH FRUIT
