I know all rooms in Europe are small but I was counting on the service to be up to snuff...well, it is not!! My bedding (sheets and pillow covers) was not changed during the entire stay (4nights). I know because I marked with a pen on the bedding small little identifying marks and they were there for the entire stay. They put two small bottles of shampoo in the room during the entire stay. They put the near empty bottle back on the counter. That's right! Parking was a complete clustermuck. I had to get someone from the front desk to walk across the street to the garage and then I had to then drive onto a lift. Then I had to drive the car into a 12 space parking level. It was like driving a car in a living room. And checkout took about as long as getting a driver's license at the US DMV. Other than that, it is adequate.

Stayed here with a last minute booking because we couldn't find our B&B in Tuscany. The desk staff was great and got us checked in and in our room in minutes. The room was a little small but with a last minute booking I was just glad it wasn't a broom closet. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was HUGE. Easily 1/2 the size of the room. Everything was clean and modern. Breakfast was quite large and very fresh. Location is just perfect. Right in the center of Ferrara with a couple of restaurant picks within feet of the entrance. Pricing is moderate but extremely reasonable, especially under the circumstances. We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel has everything I look for in a hotel! Clean, modern, central, and a good breakfast! Front desk staff is exceedingly nice and professional. Bell staff the same; professional and efficient people work here! The rooms are functional, clean and offer wonderful views of the city. Super charming!!!!! I absolutely loved the photographs of Ferrara adorning the lobby; I love it when hotel chains tweak their look to acomodate local flavour. The parking garage is very close by and convenient. And if that wasn't enough, there are two wonderful eateries just across the street. There is just nothing I could suggest for improvement, I loved this place!

The rooms are very clean and decorated minimalistically. Every think is fine and adequate. It is in the center of Ferrara and you can walk to the city center easily. The gym is small but good. Breakfast buffet is wonderfull.

The Hotel Carlton is very central and a short walk to most things in the city. The room was good. Breakfast was excellent, with everything you should need. The only downside was the front lift which seemed to belong to another era.

Went to Ferrara for two nights and enjoyed the city. The hotel is right in the center of the city, 5 minutes walking from the castle and the plaza. The hotel is clean and the rooms are bigger than expected. Bathroom was tidy and big and my room had an enormous balcony. Very nice.

I visited this hotel for business in June 2017. My car GPS had some trouble guiding me as most of the inner city of Ferrara is closed off. It's best to turn on your phone and use google maps, the guidance was very accurate. You can either park in front of the hotel (for free during nights) or in the hotel garage. The check in personell was very friendly and the process was fast. I received a room on the top floor with my own roof top terrace. The room itself was quite small, but in a good condition and with a very nice bathroom. Breakfast is typical Italian I believe, you have to like a lot of sweet things for breakfast. I'm not the super sweet morning type, but that's my personal thing so I won't let it influence my rating :) Otherwise a very solid hotel amazingly located in the heart of the city. Downtown everything can be reached by foot or bike (which the hotel offers). Only point for consideration: I stayed in June, it was insanely hot (35+ centigrade) and the room AC didn't seem to manage to sufficiently cool down the room at any time despite being on max power, so some times I had difficulty falling asleep.

Really reccomend it, staff is nice and educated, rooms are cozy and clean, looks like it's been renovated not long a go, the apartments have everything you need for a long stay even a fulled supplied kitchen with all with the same services as the hotel, they even have bikes for rent to go arround the historical center, close to most of the attractions and best restaurants and the breakfast buffet it's really complete, I'll be comming back for sure.

I stayed in the hotel whilst in Italy on business. The hotel is ideally located in the walled town. It is located a short walk from the train station and many of the town's .The room was clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfy .The hotel served a generous breakfast which is on buffet style. Staff were very helpful .The hotel has a small very useable gym.if I was going back to this part of the world I would use this hotel, moreover I would happily recommend the hotel.

We stayed in the Hotel Carlton for three nights at the end of April. The location was ideal for us as it is so central. It took literally a few minutes to walk to the Castello Estense and the Duomo. Most of the other places of interest are also reachable on foot. We did not have to use public transport during our stay. The hotel overlooks the Piazza Sacrati and although there is car parking in the square we were not bothered by noise at night. There is also a rather nice restaurant in the square which is worth a try. The hotel is very modern and efficient as you would expect from one that hosts conferences. Although it may have lacked charm we enjoyed our stay there very much. Our room (333) was a good size but I was initially disappointed by the lack of wardrobes and drawers. However, the modern furniture provided lots of shelving space and there was rail with coat hangers so that in the end there was plenty of storage space, but more drawers would have been useful. The bathroom was huge with plenty of storage space for all our bits and pieces. The walk-in shower was very hot and powerful - lovely! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice of both hot and cold dishes. It also started nice and early, 7 o'clock, so you could have a leisurely breakfast and still have an early start to your exploration of the city. We would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone who is thinking of visiting Ferrara and we would definitely stay at the Carlton again if we were to return to Ferrara.
