An excellent place to stay in Brasilia with superb service and lovely views over the lake. It has its own jetty from where boats can be hired. Serves very good food and the breakfast is very good. It is located on the bank of the South Lake and can be a bit far from the city centre though.
This is a very nice hotel with a consistent tradition of good services (I've been there 3 times in 14 years). The location is superb. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and quiet. The buffet breakfast is sound. The parking is huge, covered and very safe. Although it is usually possible to point out tiny little problems (a stain on the carpet, a far from brilliant pastry, the noisy restaurant etc.), this is a place with a very good cost/benefit rate.
Right by the South Lake of Brasília, this property is not new yet it retains its sophisticated elegance. It is pricey but worth the cost. One downside is that it is quite far from the city center so make sure you have transpo or you can use the hotel shuttle services. Very nice views from the room. Great pool.
The location of the hotel close to the presidential palace and right at the Lagoa is wonderful, a great stylish retreat, close to the monumental and architectural sights of Brasilia but at the same time in a very quiet and green location. Spacious apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay, super friendly staff, great swimming pool at the lake side of the hotel where it is nice to just have a Caipirinha as the sun goes down while looking over the Lagoa. Definitely recommend to stay here when visiting Brasilia! Kevin
I particularly liked the service and the rooms overlooking the Paranoa lagoon. The landscaping is also very beautiful. The hotel has a pier and it is possible to rent a boat for sightseeing on the lake. The sunset is especially beautiful. Brasilia has the second largest in the country boats fleet, which is impressive for a state that is far from the coast. The hotel has a restaurant bar with live shows.
This hotel is set right next to the Alvorada Palace on the lake and is quite isolated and secure, with access control to the complex. This is probably due to various politicians having temporary accommodations here. I found the use of space to be very generous for Brazilian standards, with large and quiet rooms and the whole complex pretty well kept. What does fit into the context are the tiny, jumpy spring mattresses - skimping on that to me really is a beginner's mistake. Buffet breakfast has good variety and one gets a feeling that there are several long-term guests, who in the evenings also gather up in the lobby or meet over in the pub of Royal Tulip. Clearly a good option, but do expect to rely on cabs for everything.
The food is delicious with alot of variety. Threre is a lake behind the hotel, i get the chance to see it, unfortunately at night. Brazilia is city capital so you need a good food and clean room, golden tulip has that. Far from the down town, so big to.be lost in the hotel. Be sure that two hotels together.
Since 2007 I traveled intensively in Brazil, and whenever being in Brazil I lower my expectations right from the beginning. In general the hotels in Brazil do not meet European, Asian or US standard howerver this hotel and the Royal Tulip next door do somewhat meet what I would call 4 star standard. This time I stayed there for 3 nights on business. The rooms are very spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom compared to the size of the room rather small but sufficient and fully functional. Check in was rather slow. The entire hotel property is well maintained and clean. The restaurant at the lobby level only serves breakfast, breakfast is rahter poor, the atmosphere and design of the restaurant and the entire hotel is very cool and let's say not very inviting and comfortable, some might call this modern but in my opinion modern and good design is different. For lunch and dinner one must go to the Royal Tulip Hotel which is next door but within the same compound offering 2 restaurants. When I stayed there the Pup was the only Restaurant open and I ate there twice and the food was very good. Overall a good hotel.
The buildings in which the two hotels are established are excellent piece of design. The rooms we were given were very large and spacious and the staff is very courteous. However my low ratings come from the incredibly slow checkin process (both because of the people there and the process itself that seemed disorganized and cumbersome) and the breakfast that was deeply disappointing and poor for such an hotel.
The room was spacious and very well laid out. Quiet. Lovely pool and leisure area. But breakfast was disappointing; check-in took 45 min (it's just not that complicated!); check out took 35 min. And worst of all, when I arrived at the hotel at 1 am after a brutal work day, not having eaten since breakfast, and tried to order room service from the "24 hour restaurant" - the front desk told me they would need to call back, never called back -- that loop played out with me calling back every 10 min for 45 min - at which point they took an order, and it never arrived. I went to bed, without eating, finally, at 3 am. Complained to the manager the next day who promised to get back to me, never heard a word.
