Undiscovered Paradise: A spacious apartment, 100 meters from the sea. Perfect place for relaxation. You will enjoy seclusion, peace and isolated beaches with clean sand and crystal-clear waters. The nearest beach from the house is a 2 minute walk. Other than the weekends, during which more locals are present, the beach is generally uncrowded. It is also ideal if one likes to snorkel and explore the marvelous sights under the sea.
Furthermore in the vicinity, there are the ruins of Lasaea, an ancient city also mentioned in the Bible. In a distance of just five miles at the west, there is the natural port of Kaloi Limenes or “Fair Havens”. According to local legend as well as biblical scholars,it is asserted that Apostle Paul, in whose name a small church was built therein the 1960s), landed at Kaloi Limenes to preach the Christian faith in Crete.
Crisostomos is an excellent starting point to explore the whole of Southern Crete, including many wonderful beaches of Kaloi Limenes, Agiofaraggo, Kefali, Matala and Lendas.

Nice house, great hosts

While we were a little surprised at the ruggedness of the trail to the beach, everything else was wonderful. John was friendly, responsive to our requests, a very gracious host. Lots of little amenities to make our stay easy.

John and Effie were the perfect hosts. We had a long drive at night to get to the property from the airport but it was worth it. I can't say enough about our hosts they even checked on us halfway through our week and brought us more goodies. Thank you

Traumhafte Ferienwohnung direkt am Strand – absolut empfehlenswert!Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in dieser Ferienwohnung sehr genossen! Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber und hübsch eingerichtet – man fühlt sich sofort wohl.Die Lage ist wirklich fantastisch: Nur 120 Meter zum Strand, der sauber und privat ist. Besonders toll: Zur Wohnung gehört eine eigene Liege mit Sonnenschirm direkt am Strand – ein echter Luxus!Das Dorf selbst ist sehr ruhig und ideal, wenn man Erholung und Ruhe sucht. Man sollte allerdings wissen, dass es keine Geschäfte oder Tavernen in Fußnähe gibt, daher ist ein Auto definitiv notwendig. Für uns war das aber kein Problem, sondern genau das Richtige für einen entspannten Urlaub.Ein kleiner Hinweis: Die Straße direkt zum Ferienhaus ist sehr steil und sieht auf den ersten Blick etwas abenteuerlich aus. Mit unserem Kleinwagen war es aber überhaupt kein Problem – also kein Grund zur Sorge!Fazit: Klare Empfehlung! Perfekt für alle, die Ruhe, Strand und ein gemütliches Zuhause auf Zeit suchen.

Wie die meisten anderen vor uns schon geschrieben haben: Die Wohnung ist klein aber fein, alles was man braucht ist vorhanden (für die Fliegenfenster und -Türe waren wir sehr dankbar). Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist fantastisch. Der Weg zum Meer ist dem Gelände entsprechend interessant aber gut zu machen. Der Strand ist sehr einsam, also für alle die diese vollen Strände mit den vielen Liegen und Sonnenschirmen nicht so mögen - wie wir. :)Der Kontakt zum Vermieter John war auf Englisch und sehr nett. (Danke für das Olivenöl und den Raki)Auch wir hatten eine Erstausstattung an Lebensmitteln im Kühlschrank - vielen Dank!!!Und ja die kleine Straße bis zur Haustür...sehr steil aber betoniert. Man sollten oben von links schräg in die Straße rein fahren, da man sonst aufsetzt, oder man mietet sich gleich ein höher gelegtes Fahrzeug, wir hatten auch nur einen Ford Focus und sind 2x aufgesessen (aber man lernt ja dazu ;)).Auf jeden Fall hat es uns im Süden besser gefallen als im Norden der Insel. Der Süden ist ruhig und ohne den Touristentrubel - so wie wir es lieben.Vielen Dank an John und seine Familie!!!

Die Unterkunft entspricht exakt den Angaben im Inserat, und die Eigentümerfamilie kümmert sich rührend um ihre Gäste. Wir hatten einen Startvorrat im Kühlschrank und wurden während des Aufenthalts mit Kuchen und frischem Obst versorgt. Die Kommunikation via WhatsApp hat problemlos geklappt, das war echt super.Es gibt aber auch Kritik, da die Umgebung und Lage des Objekts nicht so beschrieben ist, wie es dann in der Realität aussieht. Zum Ferienhaus führt eine steile Abfahrt, die aufgrund der Beschaffenheit eher für Offroad-Fahrzeuge geeignet ist. Unser Mietwagen (Ford Focus) setzte bei fast jeder Fahrt drüber mit dem Unterboden auf dem Betonboden auf. Außerdem liegt der Strand ca 20 Meter unterhalb des Hauses, und man kommt ohne Bergsteigerausrüstung nur an zwei Stellen im Ort an den Strand heran, was aber mit einer kleinen Autofahrt verbunden ist. Generell hat man an dem Ort und in dem Haus eine wundervolle Ruhe, und der Strand bzw. das Wasser in der Bucht sind erstklassig, insbesondere zum Schnorcheln. Der Weg von der nächstgrößere Stadt (Mires) zum Ferienhaus führt aber durch Serpentinen und auf Straßen von teilweise miserabler Qualität, es dauert daher recht lange, das sollte man berücksichtigen (Einkauf, andere Orte oder Strände besuchen etc.). Wir würden beim nächsten Besuch eher einen Ort wählen, der an einer vernünftig ausgebauten Straße liegt.

Herrlich zum entspannen

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft. Viel Platz sauber und bestens ausgestattet. Von dem ersten Hilfe Utensil über Sonnencreme bis zum Schraubendreher alles da. Sehr nette Gastgeber - Verpflegung für den ersten Abend stand bereit natürlich mit Obst und dem obligatorischen Raki. Bei Problemchen gibts schnelle Hilfe. Wunderbar ruhig und ein suuuper Blick auf´s Meer. Der Zugang zum schönen wenig besuchten Sandstrand ist kurz aber recht beschwerlich. Gut zu Fuß sollte man sein. Der nächste Minimarkt ist ca. 15min mit dem Auto entfernt, Die Stadt Mires 40min.

Très bon accueil . John et son épouse sont venus nous voir au milieu du séjour avec des cadeaux:gâteau, huile d'olive,,raki. A notre arrivée le frigo était rempli .Après une petite descente sportive on arrive sur la plage ou deux relax et un parasol vous attendent.....le meust!!!!

Quiet house with a nice view on the sea

The house is as pictured, just above a nice beach with very few people (and two transats available). A warning: the last bit of road to reach it is very steep and not in a good state, with our rental car we couldn't take it - but there is space to park above which is a few minutes away then. If you can rent a Jeep or something higher, it's better to manage the road ;) From there we could reach the Phaistos palace, the folk arts museum and the site of Gortyna. By the beach a restaurant is reachable with a nice terrace. Best to do some groceries before arriving or during the day as shops are further away from the house. We really appreciated that the hosts filled the fridge with breakfast items on the first day, and came again during the week to offer a delicious cake and some more raki - thanks for that! All in all, we had a nice stay, taking the breakfast on the terrace looking at the sea is very nice and we enjoyed the quietness. A good choice if you want to avoid the crowds!

Griechenland wo es keiner kennt

Nette Fewo ganz abseits vom Tourismus, gut ausgestattet, schöne Sitzgelegenheiten mit Grill. Hatten den Strand für uns allein. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und bemüht. Wir haben eine Erstausstattung im Kühlschrank, Kuchen und Geschenke bekommen. Vielen lieben Dank! Wir wollten keine Touristen treffen, das hat weitgehend geklappt. Mit dem Auto haben wir die Ausgangspunkte für unsere Wanderungen erreicht. Auf dem Weg dahin gab es zahlreiche Tavernen und Gescjäfte. Wir kommen gern wieder.

14 Tage im Himmel

Anfang Oktober war wir zu Gast bei John und seiner Familie im Beach View Haus. Nach einer etwas abenteuerlichen Anreise wurden wir von unseren Gastgebern super freundlich empfangen. Die Gastfreundschaft war unglaublich. Eine große Schale Obst wartete auf uns. Der Kühlschrank war gefüllt, um 2 Tage ohne Probleme daraus zu zehren, Raki, Bier, Wein, Wasser und Olivenöl standen bereit. Sowas hatten wir noch nie erlebt. Das Haus hat alles, was man braucht, links und rechts keine Nachbarn (jedenfalls nicht als wir da waren), einen wundervollen Blick aufs Meer, Liegen und Sonnenschirm am Strand nur für uns. Das Meeresrauschen, oh mein Glück, was willst du mehr!!! FAZIT: Noch nie auf unseren Reisen hatten wir so eine tolle Unterkunft und 800 Meter Strand fast für uns allein. Nochmals vielen Dank für alles! Der Kuchen war lecker und das Olivenöl und der Raki sind gut zu Hause angekommen! :-) Wir denken gern an die schöne Zeit zurück! Liebe Grüße nach Kreta!

Traumhaft

Traumhaft schöne Lage mit Blick aufs Meer Herrlich ruhige Umgebung (Strand und nicht vorhandene Nachbarschaft) Anrührend gastfreundliche Vermieter, die uns mit Essen und Kuchen versorgt haben.Ein wunderbarer Ort zum Erholen. Lediglich die Zufahrt zum Haus war nicht erholsam, da es für uns fahrtechnisch eine Herausforderung war. Wer Ruhe liebt, lange Anfahrt Wege zum Einkaufen nicht scheut, wird in dieser Ferienwohnung glücklich sein.

Wunderschön!

Die Ferienwohnung in Crisostomos ist der absolute Hammer. Die Vermieter Stella & John versorgten uns mit Essen & Getränke für die ersten paar Tage. Die Lage ist super, der weitläufige Strand ist 2 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Es waren kaum andere Urlauber am Strand. Ekaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es im nächsten Bergdorf ca 15 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt. Nach einer Woche kamen Stella & John erneut vorbei, um uns weitere Köstlichkeiten zu bringen. Die Wohnung ist sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Vielen Dank, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Eine herrliche entspannte Zeit

Die Wohnung hatte eine sehr gute Ausstattung.Die netten Vermieter haben uns schon mit einem gut gefüllten Kühlschrank erwartet.Der Strand eignet sich hervorragend zum Schnorcheln.Dort stehen 2 Liegen und ein Sonnenschirm die man nutzen darf.Am Wochenende ist der Strand etwas voller, sonst herrlich ruhig zum entspannen.Die beste Taverne Sfinias ist fussläufig in 20 Minuten zu erreichen. Dort konnte man sehr lecker und günstig essen.Leider haben wir sie zu spät entdeckt.Das einzige was nicht so optimal war ist die Matratze die war sehr unbequem.Aber da hat ja auch jeder ein anderes Empfinden. Die Aussendusche war super und es war herrlich mit Meerblick dort zu duschen. Wir würden immer gerne wieder kommen.Danke auch für die Geschenke Raki und Olivenöl.

Grandiose Unterkunft für ruhige, abgeschiedene Ferien am Meer

In der Unterkunft war alles vorhanden, was man sich wünschen kann, inclusive eines gefüllten Kühlschranks ,was ausgesprochen hilfreich ist, da der nächste Supermarkt eine halbe Stunde Fahrtzeit entfernt ist :-). Die Vermieter waren ausgesprochen herzlich, es gab sogar Kuchen, Raki und Olivenöl als Geschenk, alles sehr lecker. Am Strand, wenige Minuten zu Fuß, gibt es einen eigenen Sonnenschirm mit Sonnenliegen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Schöne Wohnung über ruhiger abgelegener Bucht

Das Appartment ist sehr schön eingerichtet, hat einen traumtraumhaften Blick auf die Bucht und zu Fuß sind es keine 5 Minuten zum Strand. Der Vermieter begrüsste uns mit einem gefüllten Kühlschrank und war wirklich echt nett. Wer Urlaub abseits des Massentourismus liebt, für den ist das genau das Richtige.
