The hotel looks as fabulous as on the pictures on the website. In particular the public areas are top notch. The rooms themselfes have some marks of time. We had room 221 which is directly behind the lobby and baxe restaurant, and music ist heard until around midnight when the balcony door ist open, when closed its quiet. We found the beach much nicer than others posted. While its mostly pebble on the beach, inside the water its pure sand. So its good for playing in the water. We had no waves and the water was quite warm even at the end of September. However, the experience with the advertised sailing day trip to Skopelos was disappointing. We booked in April and informed the hotel at the same time that we want to do the trip. They said OK, but reservations can only be made some weeks before the trip. So we informed them again in July about our interest. This time they just said it is not possible. Reminding them of our earlier conversation, they just sent us a website of a tour operator quite distant from the hotel that only offered very touristic trips on huge ships. So no Skopelos for us. And while its not the hotels fault, one should be advised that this beach (hotel beach and town beach) has the heaviest wasps population we ever experienced. We are not nervous of wasps or bees and stay calm when they are around. However, my spouse got two wasp stings while no food was around. So if you are allergic, better ask the hotel whether our experience was a seasonal exception before booking.
This beautiful hotel is located in the beach of the well-known village of Agia Anna in Evia one hour driving from the town of Chalkida. Builded in the side of a tropical green next to the biggest organized Camping of Evia perfect choice to relax. Friendly & helpful Staff, Worth to visit even for a short stay, Athens Airport or Athens City not more than two hours.
Lovely family run hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners or staff. Everything we needed was supplied. The location was spectacular. Fabulous views, great ambience. Loved the rooms with fantastic views overlooking the sea.Food was OK but not exceptional. The staffs were very friendly and approachable We cannot thank Dimitra from the reception she was absolutely profesional and helpful . If I was to come back to Evia, I would definitely stay at Thalatta Hotel again!
We spent a week in August at the hotel for a family holiday (2 kids 11 and 17) and were happily surprised by the hotel and overall quality of our stay. Great location on a long stretched beach with only few Greek tourists; great services by young, hard working and very friendly staff (especially from Gab the pool and beach boy). Large room and nice facilities. Ideal in July / August for a family vacation. Charming beach restaurant right on the beach. Few suggestions for improvement: 1/ Despite being a SLH, the hotel the gym is almost non existent and un-practicable: The gym room is very small, most of the machines were not working so it was a big disappointment. For a hotel of this standing and part of the SLH association a proper gym is "de rigueur". It does not need to be big but just few essentials modern machines and few weights will do the trick. 2/ The Spa is small but well maintained with smiling staff however there is no sauna or steam bath/room. For a hotel of this standing this is a big disappointment. Here again a sauna does not costs a lot and can be easily fitted in the existing Spa area I would say. 3/ A la carte menu for the diner could offer a bit more choices. 4/ Amenities in the room could be improved. i.e free bottle of water, etc. Other than that great hotel, nice people, good breakfast, very relaxing and easy going and reasonably priced.
We visited Thalatta seaside hotel for the first time, the experience was wonderful! The hotel is very well designed and blends beautifully with the natural environment. Many amenities, friendly and accommodating staff and an overall concept planned to keep the young engaged and enthusiastic while offering a relaxing outlet for the grown ups. Memorable culinary experiences and a wine tasting event where we were guided through local vineyard treasures and aromas by knowledgeable professionals, wrapped up this year's visit! See you next summer definitely!
The hotel is situated on the wild and very long beach of Agia Anna. That means that it has the benefit of a very quiet scenery with long sandy walks, but also it has the disadvantage of a not very favorable and attractive sea during windy days. For this reason, the hotel has an excellent team for children activities during the whole day, from the morning at the backside of the hotel in a nice forest area with a playground, later in the swimming pool, till the night in a large room including children dining and movie time! For the older children, they can rent bikes and go nice rides in the forest, or outside close to the hotel there can go for horse riding (this is not included in the hotel activities)! The room was spacious enough for our family with a beautiful view from our balcony! The breakfast had some specialties from the hotel's chef , for the lunch there are two options a seafood taverva on the beach and a more international food with children menu at the main restaurant and for dinner there are again two options a terrace restaurant with gourmet food (children not allowed) and the main restaurant buffet. All are good tastes and good quality. Another option is to visit the Agia Anna beach front village by foot (about 2-3km) or by car and taste the local tavernas. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful.
Thalatta Hotel Just 3 hrs away through twisty roads we found this nice hotel in a beautiful setting. The hotel is small about 40 rooms, kid friendly, the nice clean pool looks at the sea. The rooms are nice, best rooms are the ones facing the south side. The beach is a step away, it's mostly pebbles, the water did not look as clear as in other places in Greece, but was pleasant to swim in. Now for the challenges, the staff at the front desk ware amateur and were not able to provide good answers to any inquiries I had through out our stay. The breakfast was consistently cold, including the coffee. In general we did not think food was at par with a four star hotel, in addition they do not offer complementary water and will charge you for a capuchino or espresso at breakfast. I have never seen such thing... Finally we were charged for a picnic we never attended, no one ever confirmed personally with us, so that was frustrating. All in all, the setting is wonderful and the hotel is clean and close to the beach, if you are traveling with children this may be a good option. May not be the best if you are just adults seeking a quiet time or want night entertainment. It looks like the main target are Greek families, so not much attention is focused on foreign travelers... hope that will change.
Thalatta is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting that helps you truly feel like you're getting away from it all. Beach is a black sand beach and is kept exceptionally clean. Family rooms are spacious comfortable and well designed. Recommend the south side rooms for views of ocean, paddocks and cliffs. Kids club is AWESOME....the people running it are exceptionally good with kids. Even our kids who don't speak much Greek enjoyed every minute and couldn't wait to go back. Service across the board is excellent. Looking forward to the next time we're in Evia and we will definitely come back. Only 2 suggestions for improvement: 1. Toiletries are good quality but sparsely distributed especially for a family of 4 with 3 of us having long thick hair. One small bottle of shampoo, one small bottle of conditioner and one small bottle of body wash with no bar of soap appears a little cheap especially for a more high end hotel. 2. Food at both the breakfast and dinner buffet was very good and high quality BUT almost no green vegetables or vegetables at all at dinner and certainly no fresh salads (but awesome selection of meat and fish which my husband loved because he hates vegetables....but I prefer the majority of my meal to be vegetables with just a little meat - no I dont count potatoes in that - so selection definitely lacking for someone like me). Breakfast also had a great selection of eggs and meat but lacking in fresh fruit.
A beautiful, clean and well run Hotel especially for someone looking to get away.! The rooms are very large , with balcony and sitting area. Also incleded in room is a fridge which is very handy on hot days, The pool is the central focus of the hotel and is realy big, but the beach is also lovely with small pebles. The breakfast was good but the scrambled eggs were the best that we have had in any hotel! The staff were very proffesional and pleasant. Very clean and well looked after.hotel The nearby seaside village of Angali had some nice tavernas for dinner .
My wife and me spent 4 nights in this truly amazing hotel. We discovered a level of friendliness and hospitality of which we thought it had been extinct. What a place to be, the hotel and all of it's personnel deserve a standing ovation for their efforts, enthousiasm and professionalism. At the Thalatta Seaside Hotel customers are treated as VIP's this combined with the fantastic infrastructure makes it a place to always remember and for us personally to visit once more asap! Keep up the good work! You're amazing!!
