Cozy Retreat | Hot Tub + Peaceful Farm Stay

Looking for a quiet place to unwind during the cooler months?

Escape the noise and return to what matters. The Little Barn at Oostema Farmstead isn’t just a place to stay, it’s your peaceful off-season retreat. Think fresh air, wide-open views, and a slower pace. Solid walls, a real bed, and no shared spaces. Just quiet comfort and the beauty of the farm all around you.

Why Guests Book This Stay
- Private fire pit + picnic table
- Guest-only hot tub (reserve your time*see below)
- On-site farm store with Oostema Wagyu beef, bacon, eggs & more
- Cozy queen bed, wall heater, and small fridge
- Scenic, adult-only escape with space to breathe

Inside the Barn
You’ll step into a cozy space with everything you need, without the fuss. A queen bed sits tucked under warm lighting with a wall heater for those cooler nights. You’ll have a small fridge, a bar counter with stools, and a tote with clean bedding; use ours or bring your own. Fresh drinking water and a kettle are provided so you can start the day with something warm.

Relax Outside
Start your morning at the picnic table, end your evening by the fire. The barn is just steps from a clean portable toilet, sink, and a private outdoor shower with hot water. Parking is right next to your door. You’re welcome to explore the farm on foot or by bike and take in the views of open pasture and mountain skies.

Farm Store + Private Hot Tub
After a peaceful day on the farm, or a little exploring in Lynden or Bellingham, treat yourself to a soak in our guest-only hot tub. Open 8 am to 9 pm daily. You’ll receive a link after booking to reserve your personal time slot.

During your stay, be sure to visit our little farm store; guests love taking home a few extras from the land they stayed on. You’ll find Oostema Wagyu beef, farm-fresh eggs, and breakfast sausage. (Plus more local favorites) It’s all raised right here.

The Farmstead Experience
This is a real working farm. You will see our Wagyu cattle or wave to a guest in the Little Farmhouse or campground, but your corner is quiet and private. We live on-site and are just a message away if you need anything.

What to Bring
We suggest simple cooking supplies like a small pan, a camp stove, or a cooler. Forgot something? Just ask, we usually have extras.

What a Fantastic Camping Cabin!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Camping Cabin and would highly recommend it for a tranquil and rejuvenating vacation. The experience was exactly as described – like camping, but with the comfort of a cozy bed. The serene woodland surroundings were delightful, and we relished relaxing in the charming wooden cabin. The Wi-Fi connectivity was outstanding, allowing me to do some work during my trip. Lisa and Glen were exceptional hosts, and we would eagerly return for another visit! We will be back!

I wholeheartedly endorse this charming retreat for those seeking tranquility. Impeccably maintained and pristine, Oostema Farmstead is where we'll choose to stay on our next visit to this corner of Washington.

Beware the bed didn't come with sheets....

The cabin is simple and clean. The farm is relaxing, however I was really disappointed that the Queen bed didn't come with bedding. For the price you pay, this should not be acceptable. We travelled from Canada, and didn't realize when booking that in the smaller print it says *bring your sleeping bags. We also didn't recieve the welcome email with all this information until the day of. We asked the property managers if they had any bedding on hand as we travelled form far and they said it was an additional $35USD. If we wanted to sleep in sleeping bags we would have camped. The reason we booked the room was for a proper bed. We ended up having to go to Target last minute and purchase sheets as it seemed ridiculous to pay $35 for sheets for one night. Ask most people if they've ever booked a room that didn't come with sheets and they'd likely agree that it's very odd.
