I've been to the Homestead about a dozen times over the past few years. It's one of my favourite places to retreat to for a short one or two night stay. It's clean and the staff are friendly. While I'm not a golfer, I do appreciate the peaceful farm setting. I enjoy walking around Lynden, visiting local coffee shops, and visiting Bellis Fair. The Homestead is the perfect place to relax.
The room was spacious and clean. I had a cup of delicious coffee and relaxed in a quiet environment. The fireplace was very nice and added a warmth and coziness during the holiday season. The resort was decorated in the spirit of Christmas and was especially nice.
We booked using our RCI points. We had never been to Lynden and it sounded like a cute little town. The resort is located next to a good community so there are a lot of nice areas to walk and explore. Close to the actual town of Lynden and very comfortable to stay. We cooked our own breakfasts and dinners and did lunches out and about.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Homestead Farms. The resort is small and not easy to find because the address is their mailbox. The resort is at the golf course and restaurant. Our condo was not on the mountain side, but the golf course view was still nice. The mountain view from the grounds is wonderful. There are 2 excellent gas grills, and bikes are available. Our 1 bedroom condo was extremely clean and thoroughly equipped, including a gas fireplace. Lynden is a charming, prosperous looking community. We enjoyed the Pioneer Museum and absolutely loved the Mt. Baker area, about an hour away. Our only complaint - terrible pillows, no give to them at all.
We were due to stay 5 nights but chose to leave after 2 . We were also advised no check in prior to 4 pm even though room was obviously free . Also informed we would have to move mid stay due to carpet laying . Room drab we did not want to spend time in it ,has an unusual sour odour, staff functional .would not recommend .RCI need to get this place checked over .
I was told by someone that this used to be behind a trailer court, thus my expectations were low. I'm sure glad they were wrong, maybe they got it mixed up with another resort, for this place was very nice. It's at the northern edge of Lynden city limits, perhaps a few miles north of historic downtown Lynden, and it's in-between a golf course. To the east, the driving range and front 9 of the golf course; to the west, the back 9. The one bedroom suite I stayed in was on the second floor, and it had air conditioners in both the living room/kitchen/dining room (one long rectangular room, one enters into the kitchen to the left wall, dining room to the right, living room straight back, no separation in-between) and the bedroom, which I was able to figure out (no instructions). The temperature barely ventured into AC range, and since I don't have this luxury at home, I enjoyed it here for an hour or two, shut it off, then slept soundly all night. In fact, I slept great for every one of my five nights there. The staff was okay, not overly friendly but competent. Check in and out was efficient, and they regularly had the AC running in the hallways and stairways. The grounds were well kept. At the east end of the property was Homestead Fitness, a 24-hour fitness facility with a swimming facility that's open for almost 18 of those hours, which includes a lap pool that starts indoors and goes outdoors, an "L" shaped pool, with a wading pool and a jacuzzi pool also inside. The fitness center has an incredible variety of equipment and fitness items, virtually all that I could think of and some that I had never seen, though it's a little bit of a labyrinth in terms of the layout. I enjoyed my stay at Homestead and plan to visit there again.
Excellent rooms, full kitchenette with all contemporary amenities, pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses. Cable TV and wifi. Comfortable queen bed and contemporary bathroom with ceramic tile floor. Bathtub/shower features a steam bath option. Different: bathroom has bars of soap, but no shampoo/conditioner; at departure, they want you to load the dishwasher; they make you take out your own trash😫. Excellent golf course, nice restaurant and sports bar; access to health club and pool/jacuzzi. Health club is open to the community, so crowded with kids during summer. Lots to see and do in Lynden (taste of Dutch food and shopping). Bellingham is 15 mins to the South.
Stayed here for 1 night and wish I had time to stay longer. Very friendly staff and makes you feel at home here. Nice little condo style suites. Very clean and quiet. You would never know anyone else was there! Golf course right on property. Will definitely return.
My husband and I spent 3 nights here while visiting Lynden, WA for a family reunion. The hotel was decent, and overall it was a positive stay. The best thing about the Homestead was definitely the property. It is located right on a golf course with beautiful little gardens and streams. The view outside our window each morning (beyond the parking lot) was quite lovely. We appreciated that the resort was very quiet with noise restrictions between 10pm-10am. It also had plenty of (free) parking spots and was close to shops and restaurants in Lynden. The free WIFI was great too. The check in and check out was fairly smooth, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a well-stocked kitchenette and all your basic furnishings. I had assumed daily room service would be provided, but the only cleaning we saw was before our arrival and once we left. The queen size bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean but tiny with the door swing going right into the toilet so that it was just enough space for one person to fit. There were 4 sets of clean towels and a bar of soap provided. The shower had decent flow. Overall, we weren't enthusiastic about the place, but it was fair for the price. I would suggest this spot for a small family or couple on a budget, looking for a good place that provides the basics.
Let's start with the golf course is literally outside your door - so if you golf you definitely want to check this out! The club house has a wonderful outdoor patio as well as indoor seating area to watch the sporting events. There was live music, but no where to dance so that was a bit disappointing. Menu was limited, but the food was really good. There are two pools and two hot tubs - indoor / out door - the best this is that they restrict the hours that children are in the pool so that adults who just want to relax by the pool or in the hot tub can do so without kids running around. Mind you they do have a life guard on duty when children are allowed in the pool area, so for parents that is comforting. The make-it-yourself waffles with a fruit cup and a drink box, for $3 kinda made us feel like they were targeting breakfast to a 5 year old - not to professional couples wanting a getaway We were there for 4 days / 3 nights and the suite had a full kitchen so we opted to do some shopping for the next days breakfast. I will admit the kitchen is very well stocked (dishes, pots, pans, appliances, etc) with pretty much everything you could imagine needing ... They had a badminton net set-up, with rackets and 'birdie' supplied so we played a bit of badminton in the sunshine .... Lynden offers quaint little shops to poke around in on a rainy day ..... lots of antiques!
