We stayed one night in a family room on the third floor. The bathroom stank and the toilet flush stopped working. The telephone in the room didn't work either so we had to go to reception to complain about the non-flushing toilet. We were told that there was no-one to fix it. I asked for a bucket so we could flush it as it was too late to switch rooms as our child was asleep. The guy on reception came and showed my husband how to get the toilet to flush. We were offered no reduction on check out for the inconvenience. There was also a lot of noise from the communal terrace as guests gathered to consume their alcohol in the evening.
We had a room at the second floor of the hotel. When we arrived, the corridor smelled of something unpleasant and this may be due to the works being done during that time. The smell was gone in the evening. Our room did not have air conditioning, and I am not sure if they have rooms that have them. However, the room temperature was ok with the single window open, and this is in the middle of summer. The beds are comfortable and the room is spacious. The toilet and bath was also spacious. Breakfast selection is ok, but your only option for protein would be eggs. Hotel location is very good, with the medina within walking distance and the sea just across the street. The staff that we encountered were pleasant, and check-in/check-out procedures were fast. There is an indoor pool and a lounge area around it, which is good for just chilling out with something to read.
The hotel couldn't be better located, just across the road from the beach, and a short walk from the medina. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the hotel. There is a small indoor pool as well as a terrace. The wi-fi access is limited to the reception area. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection of pastries.
Hotel very close to old town and across road from beach. Rooms comfortable. Beds good. Soft pillows. Refrigerator. No aircon but not so hot here so didn't matter. I had to change rooms because mine smelt very bad, like they were trying to cover up a bad smell with something highly perfumed. Even some TV in English here.
I have no complaints at all about this hotel. The rooms were attractive and very clean. The bathroom well designed. There were even English speaking television channels available. My room even had water glimpses but there was a nice balcony on the third floor with good views to the beach. Breakfast could have been a bit more interesting but it was OK. However the location was superb. Opposite the beach and just a short walk to the medina, I think this is the perfect position. There was an unusual noise which was quite pleasant really - the sound of whistling wind!
Really enjoyed staying at Hotel Miramar. Good location to beach and Medina in walking distance. Spacious rooms, good wifi. Yummy breakfasts. Very helpful staff. Close to local restaurants. Hint : ask staff for assistance. Front desk staff are very helpful
Lovely foyer decorated with a variety of styles and colours - traditional ceiling painted in pale orange and touches of blue and gold; modern curtains in orange, ochre and. Cream stripes; traditional Moroccan rug in red, blue and white; and a ultra- modern corner with fuchsia and lime green cushions and orange lamps in an area with traditional dark furniture. There is also a little shop for well designed clothing and goods. Our room reasonably large with a queen or king bed - bed linen and mattress comfortable, decorated with red highlights- cushions, throw, curtains. It was quiet during the night but during the day we could hear building works from the ceiling and the building next door. There was no AC, but we used the fridge for drinks; tv had only Arabic channels; very small shower booth with the shower head removable from the wall - just as well as the jet of water went well over our heads onto the glass screen missing the body completely. It was a fifteen minute walk along the beach esplanade to the medina and lots of restaurants, and this was well lit at night.
The hotel is a great choice, rooms pretty clean and comfortable, nice variety at breakfast and service quite good. But the best of this place is the location: a few steps from the beach and gorgeous views at sunset from the terrace. It's also close enough to the lovely medina to walk there and back anytime of day or night. It doesn't have that much character but it's good value for money.
I have been to Essaouira many times and stayed at hotels, self-catering apartments but this time I chose Miramar and wasn't disappointed Miramar ticks all the boxes. First it is centrally located with rooms overlooking the beach The view from the terrace is amazing. You just cross the street and you find your privated loungers curtesy of the hotel..The rooms are clean and spacious. They come with small fridge , safe and Wifi. and a little terrace. Flat screen TV and great bath. The buffet breakfast is fresh and filling. It combines viennoiserie and Moroccan breads, juice , tea, coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It is very good value for what you pay I will go again and definetely recommend ot
