Was looking for a cheap hotel for the night and looked on Hotwire and found the Daleville Econo Lodge for $46 per night. I previously lived in Daleville for 10 years (1986-1995) and am no stranger to the area and was suspicious but decided to try it anyway. Boy, was I disappointed. This hotel has gone so far down in quality that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - even someone on a tight budget. Look at the pictures I've attached - missing light fixtures, pillows missing from the bed, missing deadbolt lock on the door, fist imprints in the wall, stained tub that wouldn't drain properly...and that's just the start. Stay away - far away. Just more evidence that Daleville is dying a slow death and community leaders don't care about it.

Stayed because of proximity to Ft Rucker's aviation museum and wife not on this trip. Room in major need of repairs to bathroom. Floors dirty. Ironing board with no iron. Open electrical outlets (hopefully no longer hot). Tub doesn't drain well. Bath towel worn thin and not much larger than a hand towel elsewhere. Has mini-fridge but dirty and with at least an inch of ice because not defrosted. Torn lampshades. On the plus side, TV works and wifi is free.

Walked into the bathroom and towels were laying on the floor. Went to turn on A/C and it was not operational. Turned back sheets and they were obviously not recently laundered. Disgusting over all. Immediately booked a room elsewhere and left. Do not stay here for any reason.

This was the worse place I have ever stayed at. Dirty, roach infested, blood stained walls and sheets, street walker lives in the rear corner room, staff carried a tan Glock on his short's pocket, staff had half uniform (tops only), manager walked around in flip flops. Although the staff was polite, I stayed one night out of a five day attentive stay and checked in 12 miles away.

Forced to stay here because cheapest and closest to Ft Rucker in military DTS System. The room was just nasty. Not sure what was on the floor. Toilet handle bar broken in half, couldn't flush. Heard/saw shady people all hours of night. Room phone rang twice during the night, until I unplugged it. The only good things was that there were no bugs. Avoid this place at all costs. Stay in enterprise and drive.

We booked a room here because our son was graduating from Fort Rucker and the Holiday Inn was sold out. BIG MISTAKE!! Our reservation was already paid for prior to arriving. The clerk asked my husband for a credit card in case of "incidentals". The room was as you would expect an economy place to be. We stayed one night even though we paid for two. Needless to say this establishment charged us for our PREPAID room AND it was for twice what we already paid!! BIG MISTAKE!! We incurred NO incidentals and they were NOT authorized to charge anything else on this account. Travelers BEWARE!

Pleasantly surprised at the improvements we found this time while on a family vacation with our grandson. Very friendly staff (advised the best place to get chicken wings in town at check in) and restful stay. This will always be our place to stay when we visit Ft. Rucker. Thank you!

We made reservations one month prior to trying to check in on May 16, 2014, around 6 pm. The woman working behind the counter was extremely rude, and gave us an attitude while telling us they gave away our reservations. I do a lot of traveling on my motorcycle and spend a lot of money on hotels. This is not the first Econo Lodge that has given away my reservations, but the combative attitude of the hostess has ensured my money will not be going to Econo Lodge any more. After all, what's the point of making reservations if the International Corporation doesn't keep them? The hostess actually lied to my brother and told him there wasn't another motel in the area!

Let me start out by saying the management and staff were very friendly and didn't miss a beat when we said we could not stay there less than an hour after checking in. They did reverse our charges. I am not sure if there is a difference in rooms on the first or second floor, but the room on first floor was awful. There was noticeable water damage in several areas of the room. It didn't appear to have been vacuumed well, there was visible mold/mildew through out the bathroom and sink area. Urine and hair on toilet and just overall unclean. I checked the sheets on the beds and they had debris in them and what appeared to be blood on one of the pillow cases. Fixtures through out room were grimy. It is definitely a case of serious neglect in housekeeping.

I travel to Fort Rucker and stay in this hotel about four times each year. The main reason that I chose the Econo lodge is price and location. You can get a decent room with a kitchen for $50-60 which includes free internet (cable or wireless). The location is just outside the Daleville gate which keeps me the close to Fort Rucker. As far as the rooms, they are severely outdated, including the bathrooms, TVs, furniture and curtains. During my last two stays, I had difficulty with getting my room serviced. On the last trip, there were no more than 4-5 rooms occupied and it seemed like it was trouble for the maids to find time to service the room. At a minimum, I was gone from 9am until 3pm and the room had not been serviced. Like the previous person stated, the TVs are outdated, but the internet service is good. Only trouble with the service is that you have to reconnect a couple of times each day which can be annoying none the less. Don’t ask me why, but I will continue to use the Daleville Econo Lodge mainly because of cost and location.
