The Space:

This comfortable three-bedroom home sleeps up to six guests, with queen beds in each bedroom. The primary suite includes a jacuzzi tub and separate shower, while the shared guest bathroom offers a shower/tub combination. The open-concept main living area is ideal for gathering, and the backyard deck provides a great space for outdoor dining during warmer months.



Located on a quiet street in the Village of Empire, the home sits directly across from a small neighborhood park with green space, a baseball diamond, and public tennis courts—perfect for families and relaxed outdoor time.



Surrounded by the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, this quiet and quaint retreat is just three blocks from Empire’s Lake Michigan beach. The home is also within walking distance of village shops and dining, making it easy to enjoy Empire without needing to drive.



A short drive brings you to the Heritage Trail, the Sleeping Bear Dunes Visitor Center, the Dune Climb, and some of Northern Michigan’s most iconic views at Pyramid Point, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, and Empire Bluffs. Empire Beach offers two distinct waterfront areas—Lake Michigan and South Bar Lake—ideal for swimming, beach days, and small-boat fishing.



The public beach area features a playground, basketball and volleyball courts, restrooms, picnic areas, fire pits, and a swimming dock. Be sure to plan for sunset—Empire is known for its unforgettable evening skies. Bring a chair, a drink (no glass on the beach), and enjoy Northern Michigan at its best.

CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:

•November-April: Set the heat/thermostat to 55 degrees and close the blinds.

•May-October: Shut off everything and close the blinds.

•Strip beds (not mattress pads) and pile all sheets and towels on the floor near the washer. Start a load of towels in the washer. (If applicable.)

•Dispose of food and trash.

•Put all trash in the garbage bin. Trash instructions are noted in your Guest Guide Link.

•Put patio cushions back. (If applicable.)

•Washed, dried, and put away dishes.

•Turn off lights.

•Lock the door.

It was close to the Empire beach and Sleeping Bear sites. The home was clean and had a well-equipped kitchen. The weather was cool so we enjoyed the fireplace. Very family friendly. Check in and out was great. Empire is a nice town. We would definitely come back to this location. One minor thing that could be improved — towels. Kitchen could use more and bath towels are getting worn.

Our family had a wonderful stay at The Salisbury House! It was clean, had everything we needed and was exactly as advertised. The town of Empire was centrally located for the activities we did. The house was spacious, clean, modern, very comfortable and homey. The kitchen was well stocked making cooking in easy since there were few restaurants nearby. The two car garage allowed great space for keeping all our outdoor toys safe. Would rent again

All aspects of the trip were excellent. From reserving and planning, arrival/check in, to the convenience of location and check out. We couldn't have been happier. Centralized location and walking distance to local shops and the beach. The house was beautiful, clean and came with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our family spent a wonderful 6 days at the Empire house. There were 5 adults from age 73 to age 22 and we were all very comfortable. The house is extremely clean and very well equipped, the beds were great, linens nice, kitchen good, plus it’s walking distance to 2 beaches and to the lovely village of Empire. It’s a short drive to Sleeping Bear National Park with more beaches, bike paths, hiking, and history. Glen Arbor is convenient. We’ll be back!
