Tired villa in need of a refurb
I mistakenly assumed that the lockbox number I had been given would be at the villa but it wasn’t! It was a 40 minute round trip into Denia. Can’t understand why they make you do that? We hadn’t booked a car so this was a huge inconvenience.
The house is in typical style of Spain, but lots of areas are in desperate need of updating or just improving. When I picked up the keys the guy said the tap in kitchen is dripping but someone will repair next day. He came 2 days later but the sink is so old he broke a hole in it trying to change taps. He cleverly installed the tap in front of the hole and said someone will replace the sink in a few days. We were there for 2 weeks and no new sink. The bedrooms were ok and air con very good but one room had a cockroach problem. When I called about it, they came straight away with a can of spray. The pool area was in need of a redo. The grass had not been cut and this too was sorted the day after I asked for it to be cut, but surely this should have been done before we arrived. The oven kept cutting out when we tried to cook and that was very annoying. Overall, this has potential to be a lovely villa if it is updated throughout and the pool area improved by laying a better lawn, painting and replacing the patio. Don’t book without a car and I would not book again unless all of the above was addressed. Find another option.
