Great view and comfortable family stay

Easy parking, stairs to get to the room. Awesome view!! Very comfortable bed and accommodating for an extra crib for our 1 year old. Very clean and modern appliances. Location is far from groceries and restaurants so be prepared to get groceries if you don’t want to drive too much. Excellent stay for families otherwise

We stayed in Lodge 10 (3 separate apts for my adult children and their children. Spotless and new with outstanding views. Easy check in. We chose shoulder season (early April) so restaurant choices were limited but we knew and were fine with it. Would definitely stay again. It was wonderful !

Lucas the general manager was very welcoming and helpful once we arrived. The property was stunning and had a beautiful view. The place is very quiet during the off season which we found very relaxing. Lucas’s recommendations were great and we would definitely come back in the summer ! Skookumchuck Narrows was also amazing to see!

We stayed for two nights and stayed in the ocean view suite after upgrading from the forest side. I highly recommended this upgrade if you plan on staying and experiencing the ocean view which the highlight if the resort. Also, we decided to book through Expedia, which did not include the dining option, which was great for us as well where able to have the freedom to dine in other local areas and get take out sushi to have on the deck. There are some small amenities missing for the price like no black out shades on the sliding door and no where to store your soap and shampoo in the shower. Overall highly recommend for a great romantic get away.

Meh...

We had booked this place with high expectations and were quite disappointed. Admittedly, the main common building was very nice and the views were absolutely incredible. After that, it kind of fell down. The food was just okay but overly priced for the quality. The staff was friendly enough at times and seemed indifferent at other times. I'm guessing that most of the staff were locals (makes sense) but it seemed that the resort was one of their local social gathering places versus a place to work and be professional. The rooms were quite basic. We hadn't realized it when we booked but the rooms had no air conditioning (who doesn't do AC these days?). It has truly been one of the hottest early summers that I can recall and the room was unbearably uncomfortable. The had a small table fan in the room but it was a bit of a joke...hardly pushed any air. On a positive note about the room...the shower had good water pressure and the bed was very comfortable (aside from being way too hot in the room). Finally, the grounds were a bit unkempt. The place was clean enough, but when you looked past the facade it was unremarkable. Kinda like sweeping the dust under the carpet...you don't initially see it but it's there. I really wanted to like this place as it is in such a beautiful setting, and I'd heard good things. But, unfortunately, it let me down on too many fronts.

Would definitely stay here again. The views are beautiful. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The restaurant food was very good. Very close to the Skookumchuk Narrows. Egmont is very quiet. Unfortunately when we were there the weather was rainy and cold so we were unable to enjoy the water activities we’d originally planned - maybe next time!

I know that this was during Covid however the service in the restaurant could have been better. Staff chatting in the corner while we were waiting to be seated. Even though I had informed them it was our anniversary nothing special was done on their part to make it that much better. Shower sprayed all over the bathroom, and the lighting was poor for doing make up. No bottle water in bedroom. For $700 per night you would think these things would be perfect. It would have been nice to know when booking that you could request a dinner time. We were allotted 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. A bit early for a anniversary dinner. The second night was changed to 7:30 but only after I asked twice for it to be done.

Peaceful getaway with great views

Highly recommend this hotel. The customer service is exceptional- everyone was very friendly and offered useful tips and suggestions on what to do in the area. The moment you walk into the lodge, you realize why you are staying there- magnificent view. The lodge is situated right above the water with views of the smaller islands. I would advise to get a room with a view of the water but if you don’t have one it is ok as you can simply just sit on the patio outside of the restaurant all day/evening if you like to take in the sunset. The rooms are ok at best- serviceable but it’s the view, the people, and the quietness of the resort that is the big selling point. Definitely will return!

We stayed in one of the Oceanview cabins, where the view was fantastic. Eating on the covered deck area with the views that came with it was an awesome experience. The food was really good, and the staff were all very friendly and laid back. If not for the accommodation I would give it five stars all round. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was quite large but there was no air conditioning which meant that we had to keep the patio window open nearly all the time with a small fan in the doorway circulating air. The shower stall was tiny with barely enough room to stand and there was no place to put soap, shampoo etc except for on the floor. The washbasin was a designer-type, very shallow, which looked interesting, but wasn't very functional. For some reason we were given six tubes of conditioner, but no shampoo which we thought odd. Using my laptop was awkward as there was no desk in the room, so I had to either sit on the bed with it, or have it on my lap on the sofa. Finally, it is a cabin in the woods so you are going to encounter bugs of some sort. We killed a couple of ants that had made it into the room.
