Just off the highway and up on a cliff this is a great hotel. Spent two nights here while working in the area for a couple days. The breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of choices; although on the first day there were a lot of families and couples to compete with for it. While there isn't much within walking distance there are plenty of restaurants a short drive away.
We stayed her one night on our way to PEI.. Very comfortable hotel - clean and efficient. Breakfast included lots of choices and coffee was great. Easy access off the highway and you can walk to a few restaurants nearby. We would definitely go back!
Recently renovated , very friendly . Only disadvantage no restaurants in walking distance . Was able to park a trailer , they were very helpful . Probably the best hotel coffee have tasted . Breakfast was ok .
I approached the front desk to check in after driving from Montreal. There was a trainee clerk Julie who was attending to a guest. Both of them were chatting away (in French) even after the formalities were completed and this clerk did not even acknowledge my presence. It was over 10 minutes. And then, when she finally attended to me, she was curt and discourteous. The hotel was hardly occupied and she tells me very tersely, "Don't park near the rooms. There are other guests in the hotel. You will disturb them." What was I? Not a guest? Did my ethnic background evoke such a behaviour? Or is this the typical New Brunswick etiquette? When I pointed out to her about this behaviour and my displeasure, she just shrugs her shoulder and arrogantly says "Sorry about that." I am a Choice Privileges Member and expected better from a Choice Hotel. It does not augur well for Choice Hotels to keep such incompetent and rude folks at the front desk or anywhere else.
While travelling to Montreal from PEI, I experienced car trouble in Edmunston. Surprisingly, there are no mechanics, no car rentals open and no bus service on a saturday afternoon ! I walked into the office of the comfort Inn, and was welcomed and given a room well before the normal check-in time of 3:00 pm. My husband drove over from PEI and repaired my car that evening. We spent the night and I left in the morning for Montreal and he enjoyed breakfast and left for home. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had a sliding door access to outside with parking right there....making it easier for car repair. The weather at the time was also terrible, cold and snowing. One week later, on my return trip home, I stayed again and was remembered by the office staff. My second night was also warm and comfortable and much appreciated. Thank-you !
Clean rooms, efficient staff, and a cheaper rate than a nearby hotel makes this a good bargain. Nice view overlooking Edmundston. I always enjoy the drive-up main floor room, as it's convenient for my work.
My partner and I stayed at this hotel because of a decent pet friendly rate, buffet breakfast and convenience to highway, restaurants and casino. We stayed in room 140, ground floor in the back and while it was immaculately clean you can tell a few other dogs have stayed there besides ours. The staff were the very best, bilingual and cheerfully welcoming. The Buffett breakfast was routine, sausage, eggs, waffle maker etc... However the coffee was diluted to say the least, it sucked. When my partner was showering, the light turned off in the bathroom, we excused it. Then while we were trying to go to sleep, the night light, also in the bathroom, kept going on and off. My partner shut it off, figuring it was the bulb and it was one of the switch kind that you flick to the left or right. After about six times she finally unplugged it. As we rolled over to go to sleep the radio alarm clock kept turning on and off. It would turn on only for a second or two then off for a minute, then on , then off until she finally unplugged that. A little weird if it happened once or twice but when lights and radios go on and off, several times, I'd dare to say it could be haunted. Strong language, I know, but it was quite an active room with only 2 people and a dog that were each in their own double bed. The second night as I was reading, my partner sleeping in the next bed, all was quiet I happened to look up to a small glowing light (orb?) floating past me into the wall. We checked out that morning because our meetings were over. So, any paranormal hunters out there floating through Edmundston or Madawaska Casino, see if you can room 140 at the comfort in, just remember it was very clean, dog friendly and very active. Oh yeah, my dog who is an 11yr old boxer was looking also and barking.
Edmunston was cold and the hotel was clean. After a snowy, wet and long drive from Halifax it was very nice to arrive at this hotel. Our rooms were very clean, beds were great and the hot breakfast was pretty good. We were well received at reception who was helpful about finding a place for dinner.
We stopped at the Comfort Inn in Edmundston, being the half-way point of our journey back home on holidays. I don't usually stay at this brand of hotel, but because it checked all the right boxes (pet friendly, free Internet, free breakfast and free parking) and the reviews looked good we gave it a whirl. We were glad we did because we had a very enjoyable (though short!) stay. The overall impression we had was that they made sure they did all the little things well. For example, they had just the days before been inundated with a huge snowfall but the parking lots was cleaned neatly right to the edges. Example 2: The person charged with keeping the breakfast area clean and stocked was very serious about her job. Example 3: The rooms (freshly renovated) was clean, smelled fresh, and the bedding had lots of choices of covers and pillows. Also, though it sounds like a small thing, the window heater/AC was very quiet in operation.
Stayed one night on way through on a stormy night. Pleasant clean room, friendly staff. A little expensive for the area/type of accommodation but was very clean and quiet. The next morning, the highways in eastern Quebec were closed, so no-one was moving. The front desk staff saved us a fruitless venture out, having informed us of the highway closure. As the morning went on, people started to wonder how they would handle check-out times, rebooking times - and they were very understanding and accommodating. We stayed until almost noon before we ventured out. Only possible negative is that we were told there was a hot breakfast, but there was only cold continental (and a mini-waffle maker). The next time, for the short stay, we might try to find something a little less expensive for one night.
