We found the slamming of doors around Room 116 very annoying, early morning and later at night. We appreciate that the doors are heavy for a reason but they could be closed quietly.

Friendly check in, speedy service. Nice hotel. Will return Coffee machine switched off too early at the bar area. Bedroom far too warm and unable to turn heating down .. Ground floor so unable to open windows.

Very nice stay

Wonderful receptionist, super helpful and when we went early to drop bags allowed us to check in super early as our room was ready. Lovely pool area and changing rooms clean and comfortable. Rooms were clean, modern and well maintained. 2 minute walk to bus stops to get into town easily and free parking if you drive.

Nice location and clean rooms.

This hotel boasts a fantastic location with easy bus access to Edinburgh's city center, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, the extremely noisy floorboards were disruptive, and the restaurant service was shockingly poor – we waited 30 minutes and left without being served.

Girly break

The staff were very helpful and polite. Pool and steam room were lovely, the sauna was amazing. The breakfast was delicious, didn’t think the evening menu was as suitable for children. Easy to catch a bus from. It took about 20-25 minutes to reach prince’s street and took us right to Edinburgh zoo.

Overnight stay

Overnight stay before going to airport. It was easy to get to getting bus from town centre to the hotel the number 26 bus then the next day get the 100 from round the corner to the airport. Beds are comfortable and breakfast was buffet style, plenty to choose from. Staff were lovely. The only downside for me was the lift was not working and I couldn’t use the pool facility as I’m not good with stairs.

The front counter staff was friendly. The food from the restaurant was OK. It was extremely noisy doors, slamming all night. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet seemed old, and for the price was not worth it, and no freshly brewed coffee. We stayed for about 7 nights and only ate breakfast there once because of how bad it was.

We booked a double room with bunk beds for the kids. The bunk beds did not feel stable at all and we're very uncomfortable. My husband slept in one and myself and two kids slept in the double bed as we didn't feel it was safe for the kids. The sofa in the room had stains all over it. The staff were lovely and it was very handy for our flight the next morning. However I don't think I would stay again.

rude

when i went to the bar /restaurant for hotel guests I found a mess on the tables (empty plates/glasses etc.) . The guy behind the bar stressed not knowing what he was doing. A big party was going on in the next room, and their party-goers were standing at the hotel bar to order nonstop drinks! I felt uncomfortable with rude comments from bar staff like: you need to stay in the queue or have to wait to get served! when a second staff member arrived he could not be bothered to help and started stuffing the fridges with drinks. with a big queue waiting I overheard him saying ....i don't give a s**t ! new hotel guests came with vouchers to the bar and they did not even know what to do with it ! i was a bit hungry but they also shut the kitchen before 9 pm and not 9.30 as it has been told on arrival at the hotel.why ? ........cause the chef walked in and says that he could not be bothered any longer and asked tho shut the kitchen and bar staff told him ...yeah that's fine. rude and swearing staff behind the bar with no training or experience in any way .!!! i heard many customers talking about their behavior and not being treated like hotel guests. It was embarrassing. i was angry and disappointed that I could not relax at the bar with a pint after a day's hard work so I checked out 5 hrs. after I checked in and booked another hotel for the night in the city . i stay in hotels all over the UK and eu for over 30 years but have never seen something like this ! WHAT A MESS !!!!
