The Edgar Hotel is a basic but pleasant hotel that provided a clean and comfortable room at a price that, while not cheap, seemed reasonable for peak summer season and available for a trip booked on fairly short notice. It's an easy 10-15 minute walk in to town. Our room was spacious and everything looked new. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet despite being right next to the parking lot. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although we didn't spend much time there, there is a tavern/sports bar on the grounds (we had a few good drinks there), as well as some benches and firepits if you want to hang around. Although it doesn't have the charm of some of the nearby inns, we felt fortunate to find this place and had no complaints -- we would certainly consider coming back!

Okay first the coffee pot & iron didn’t work received new one. The extension cord is a little strange ( TV, Mini fridge, microwave) & light switches as you enter to the right do not touch them it operates the extension Cord! Not the best set up enjoy our stay once we understand how everything worked.

Hotel facilities were good and newer /clean. But aside from an attached tavern, there's not much to do at this hotel. It's Martha's Vineyard, so you're going to find rifa to do. But they should tell you how to get to Downtown Edgartown and Tina to do and see if they have nothing on property. Just saying.

Front staff desk was so nice and welcoming. I really appreciated that. The room itself was pretty nice and clean, but trying to adjust room temperature was a bit of a challenge. The room was uncomfortably cold and when I tried to turn off the thermostat, it took me several tries before I could actually turn it off which made it a bit of an annoyance. Usually I have no difficulty finding the off button on thermostats at hotels, but this was a different experience. This is the only complaint I have though. The location was very close to Oaks Bluff which was ideal and its also next door to Stop and Shop which can be great for any last minute purchases. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Martha’s Vineyard again.

It was very well equipped and people were nice. It would have been nice if it had a pool.

Very pleasant and convenient stay in edgartown. Staff recommendations were very useful.

I thought the room was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. And it was in a great location. A+

The location was convenient for my needs. Short walk for dining out and shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi was very slow however. But all in all it was a good experience. I would recommend this hotel.

We traveled to the Vineyard for my birthday, and our stay at the Clarion was nothing short of excellent.

Clarion inn was right in the middle of everything we did,we had a car but there's a bus stop out front, stop&shop next door, restaurants all around, bike rentals across the street and fun had by all.olga at the front desk is the best, she'll answer anything.thanks clarion and James carter

The hotel is a good bargin for the area. We had a great time.

I came here in the off seasons w/ 2 girlfriends. The staff was friendly and let us borrow their wine opener. It's in a great location. Right next to a stop & shop for any necessities and a 10 minute walk away from Main St. Downtown & the beach.

The hotel is a nice and comfortable but, without any additional services or facilities. It is of a standard 1990 / 2000 period highway motel construction and the rooms are just slightly above standard on a national scale. Everything works. It has an excellent restaurant next door and it is an easy 10 minute walk to downtown Edgartown for access to shops and all stores. Expect only a hotel room for sleeping with no special character. If that is what you are looking for it will fill the requirement nicely.

Nice, clean hotel in a convenient location. About 3/4 mile walk into town and next door to the supermarket. Bike rentals across the street.

Good clean hotel. Parking is available which is of great importance on the Vineyard. Husband woke at 2:30 am and said he could hear someone speaking on the phone on floor above.

Excellent service, good size clean room, comfortable bed, nothing to complain about.

When we got to the room we saw that that bathroom was not cleaned. It was like the maid simply forgot to do anything. The room itself was fine. The clerk on duty after checking with housekeeping to see if the needed cleanup could be handled (it couldn't, staff had left for the day)got us another room. I asked him if the price was the same and he assured me it was. Well guess what, it wasn't. On reviewing the bill at checkout I noticed the rate was jacked up $10 per night. The morning clerk corected it but wasn't the least bit apologetic and seemed irritated by the matter. To be fair, the replacement room was clean and quiet. We liked the fact that Stop & Shop and the bus stop were right next door.
