Although property was old, needs renovation.Curtains were very dusty which was bad for me as i have a dust allergy.Bathroom had cracks with dust and bed was very uncomfortable . I suffer from. Siatica which was triggered. Overall a very poor experience. Not forgetting pillows were not firm at all and duvet had stains... I would not visit again as I planned a quick get away, but was glad to be home !!!

The property is so run down which is a shame as it’s a lovely building. The carpets are stained and dirty and the place just looks dirty. Maybe the cleaners don’t have enough time to do each room. The staff where friendly

Burlington Hotel - Poor

The front desk staff were wonderful and very accommodating. However, the hotel itself requires significant renovations and upgrades. Housekeeping had also done a very poor job in cleaning the room before our arrival. Overall, not a very pleasant stay.

I booked well in advance and at the time the rates were much higher than the market rate for a similar property in Eastbourne, so I assumed this was going to be a quality experience in line with the website and hotel promotion. That was not to be. When we got there, one of the lifts was out of order, leaving the other one to be painfully slow. There's an air of decay and faded lack of attention to the hotel. It looks really grubby from the front. In fact, when we arrived at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, there were drug addicts injecting themselves in the car park. Not a great start. The bathroom of the room door didn't close. It didn't fit the doorframe. A sticker, giving information about the replacement towel arrangements "as we we are in Covid restrictions' was still on display underneath the bathroom mirror. 4 years after restrictions ended, this is not a cared for property and doesn't match up to my expectation of the marketing. For the first time ever, we went for a coffee in the afternoon in the town centre and considered bailing - going home- even though we paid for the room. We persevered. But never again.

Lovely location but rooms could be cleaner

Lovely location right on the seafront. Room was a good size and had everything we needed, staff were pleasant and friendly. However decor is dated and the room could have been cleaner and this let it down.

Dirty, decor hasn’t been done for 40+ years Curtains hanging down and old, stains on the 40+ year old carpet in the bedroom, yellow stains on the “white” towels, shower that’s non existent because of lack of water pressure, small double bed which was old, dust so big in clumps on the desk fan, noisy, creeky floor boards, decor around the hotel is battleship grey well what’s left of the paint. I was charged £104 with no breakfast- very over priced!! Rude staff - on arrival first thing said was “where’s your ID?” And when leaving in the morning we asked for reimbursement for the car park as we couldn’t get in although they took payment for it - the girl look bemused as if she knew nothing about it even though it was put in the diary from night staff and replied “I know!!” very sharply, then asked if everything ok to which we replied no , proceeded to explain the problems and she took no notice and talked over us and never apologised about the state of the hotel. DO NOT STAY IN THUS DREADFUL HOTEL ! Very misleading pictures on the website - looks nothing like it. Noise on the road side until 2am, guys playing football on the beach with pumping music playing.

The staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. I only went B&B, but the breakfast had a reasonable selection, and was regularly refreshed. The building is in desperate need of some tlc, but having stayed in many Eastbourne hotels, this is normal, and THe Burlington is a little bit above average on this score.

We booked through Expedia who emailed us two days before our stay offering us an upgrade to seaview double room with dinner and breakfast which we agreed to and paid the extra fee. However on arrival there was no seaview room ..the receptionist was very helpful and sorted the meal and breakfast however we could only have the twin room booked originally....this was very disappointing. Hoping Expedia will compensate us for this .

Good at particular price

Hotel is saved by staff , location and price. Have now stayed in 3 single rooms on 3/4th floors. Fabric of all has been very tired. However all have been clean and all amenities satisfactory. Breakfast bought at bking 25-75% less than on site , very good value. Even at full price - £10 you get a lot for your money. Car Park £6 till 3pm next day. Despite other reviews I have had excellent wifi even in the most distant 4th floor rm. Mid August I have moved in and out of here 4 times depending on price - £43 - 180.
