Campanile Hotel Eindhoven3.0 out of 5.0

We’ve often used this hotel for a jumpstart for our holidays flying from Eindhoven Airport. And we used to thoroughly enjoy our little stay with a great diner and hospitable service. But this year ... quality seems to have dropped; the food was far below par, with greasy chips and schitzels and waiting staff was absent-minded. A visit to McDonalds nearby is recommended instead. Finally, a noisy night on the ground floor and painful bedsprings made us decide to find a new Eindhoven hotel start to our holidays from now on... The biggest dissappointment; we used to love going to this place :(
Went here for a stopover on our journey down south. Hotel is very convenient situated near the highway. Prices are very good for this purpose. Welcomed by very friendly receptionist. Quick check-in, room was clean not even that small and had all the functions. The room building is separate from the hotel but it is attached to it (you only need to walk through outdoor balcony). There is a bar and restaurant where you can get a good drink and some food. Prices are adequate and service is good. We did not have breakfast as we had to leave early. Good place to stay for a night. But don't expect luxury.
Good location close to the hotel (I walked to the Airport) and a really good price for if you want to break a journey up. Rooms are not luxury but are good enough with an en-suite and a TV. The lady who did my check was probably the friendliest person I'd met that week.
Have stayed in many campanile hotels over time. This one stands out as the best experience I have had at any of the chains hotels. Rooms and general layout were as expected for a Campanile, however what made our stay was the amazing staff. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff who arranged safe storage for our bikes and got us checked in quickly so we could order food. Good evening meal and beer choices. Rooms were clean and fairly comfortable. In the morning breakfast was good and again staff were friendly and helpful.
Considering the price of hotels in Eindhoven, the Campanile is a good and cheaper option (50 - 60 euros for a double room). It is located at about a 10 min drive from the airport but keep in mind that a one-way 10 min taxi ride costs 20 euros! The hotel is more like a motel but the rooms are nice and clean with comfortable beds, free wi-fi connection, a TV and a kettle with complementary tea, coffee and biscuits. The staff at the reception desk are friendly and very efficient. I decided to stay at this hotel because I had an 8h flight layover during the night but in hindsight and adding the 40 euros for the taxi it is almost the same price as staying at the Tulip Inn, which is located right in the airport building. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you have a car or can use public transportation to get there. Otherwise add 40 euros to the price of the room to account for the taxi rides to and from the airport.
Way overdue for a complete refurbishment (or just knock it down and start again). Not enough room to swing a cat) if you're into that sort of thing). The very ancient metal blind mechanism on the window didn't work and was stuck about 6 inches from the bottom, so the room was very dark indeed during the day. When we reported it, they admitted there were several that were old and needed attention. They took the blind winder away. More serious was the shower - it appeared to have two temperature settings: a 5mm position in the middle which was tolerable and the rest either side of that which was scalding hot - extremely dangerous! We also reported this too, but it wasn't fixed before we left. Food only passable - when they brought the 'healthy' dessert option it was wrong - orange instead of pineapple - and the yogurt was full fat Greek style with a huge splodge of whipped cream on top. Aaaargh. Not very healthy.
The rooms are really old, but clean. No problem parking, and very nice breakfast. Perfect choice if you need to take an early flight. And there is a bus stop quite close that will take you to the center, but if you are 2 people is better to go with the car and pay for parking, bus is ridiculously expensive!
The staff is really friendly and the breakfast buffet is quite good. But an hotel is in the first place a place to sleep. We had two adjacent rooms. In one of both rooms the electrical heating did not function and there was no trace of extra blankets. The rooms were also run down and the walls are thin so if someone decides to behave as if he is on a youth camp all neighbours can enjoy it. You also hear the traffic of the nearby road. So yes it's a low cost option but in our opinion rather a low value hotel. It's a pitty for the staff, especially the breakfast crew. I do not think I will ever visit a Campanile again. There should always be other options.
I stayed here for 9 nights, I expected an average hotel, what I got was more, way more!!!! First...the Amazing staff, amazing restaurant/bar, very clean rooms, and affordable rates. The customer service was 5 stars from every staff member I encountered, I will always stay here when in Eindhoven!
