We really liked this location. Food was delicious in the lounge and bartender was great. Staff was so nice. Room was great, bathrooms were clean. Definitely plan to make another trip and stay at this location. Pool was a little chilly but still nice with kiddos.

Clean comfortable room with great balcony and river view

Best location and all the other good stuff. No complaints here. Beautiful setting on the river. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent central location. Accommodations were very nice, especially with balcony right on the river.

We loved the location and the hotel itself. It had a comfy friendly feel. We enjoyed the restaurant and lounge, the food was excellent. Everything was clean and tidy. The workout room was a little cramped if there were more than two people in there, but the equipment was nice. Only wish the outdoor patio/cafe was open when we were there!

Awesome balcony, right on the Animas River. Convenient to everything in Durango and vicinity.

We really enjoy listening to the river on the balcony. We had some nice walks on the river trail and enjoyed historic downtown. The hotel is in a great location for all of our activities.

Beautiful views, on the river. Great staff, very accommodating. Good location, close to town could walk if you wanted to. Would recommend this to anyone going to Durango. Might be a bit far if skiing but could be done. There is a bar and good restaurant and meeting facilities.

We arrived on Christmas Day and had a free shuttle ride from the Durango airport in the hotel van. We were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies, unfortunately not gluten free. Our feather free room was great. We walked along the Animas river next to the hotel at sunset in the snow. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet the next morning in the dining room with a splendid view of the river and equally splendid food and service.

Very comfortable room with a great view of the river. Enjoyed the balcony too. Nice lounge with view. Will return for our next trip. Very happy with hotel.

At arrival everything was fine. Our room was large but the decor was outdated. 1 of the 2 phones didn't work. We had asked for, but never received a roll away, however they still charged us for it. I spoke with staff the very first full day there to get the charge taken off, and they removed it, but then charged us again for the remaining 3 days. In addition, we had perpetual problems accessing the free wi-fi. It was bad enough to call the front desk and they referred my husband to tech support where he spend the next 1.5 hours on the phone with someone who could not understand that we were NOT online. Finally they put in a trouble ticket and then we never heard from them again. The worst factor was that the fan blew every 30-45 minutes directly on the head of one of the beds. Resulting in 1) waking up every 30-45 minutes every night and 2) my children getting sick. At checkout the staff said they could take some cost off except we had booked via oribtz so there was nothing they could do. In general, I would only stay at this hotel if absolutely nothing else was available. It's good enough, but not worth the money it cost. And the staff seemed to not care much. One exception was the very friendly Night Auditor who manned the desk when we arrived. She was friendly and pleasant.

Its right next to everywhere we wanted to go in Durango, short walk or super short drive to the train station and restaurants. Its right on the river which was nice to listen to with the balcony door open, traffic noise wasnt an issue. Everything was clean, comfortable and in good shape, would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at Doubletree Hotel in Durango for 3 nights. The rooms were nice, clean and beds comfortable. The location is only 1 long block from Main street and the train station. You do have to walk across busy Rt. 160 but there is a pedestrian friendly light to help. Breakfast is extra with a nice buffet for $10 per person. Many hotels are away from the downtown and parking is metered and difficult to find parking places so not as convenient as a couple of the famous old hotels but also a lot more user friendly.

We stayed here during a trip to Durango. The room was extremely comfortable. The hotel is gorgeous. The staff was extremely helpful. The location was awesome!! We had booked a trip on the polar express. The train station was in walking distance. Also downtown Durango, full of shops and restaurants , was only a few blocks walk. The hotel was about a 30 min drive to Durango Mountain Resort, where we skied. The manager even emptied the outdoor trash for us when we thought we had lost our car keys! The hotel was pretty full and they accommodated our request for a rollaway, even though we hadn't reserved one. My only minor negative comments would be the pool was kinda cold and they didnt really have family friendly eating in the hotel (at least in the winter). Overall, we loved it!!

Wonderful stay in neat town of Durango Colorado at its best

We have spent a lot of time in Durango over the years for a variety of reasons. We have stayed with family, at Bed and Breakfast Inns, condos and many hotels. We decided to pay a little more on this trip amd try the Doubletree. We needed a rollaway bed for one of my teenage boys and we were pleasantly surprised when it was a comfortable, reasonably sized bed. The room was spacious, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom a clever arrangement that made the most of a small space. The customer service was excellent. The staff were responsive and helpful but not intrusive. The walk to downtown is easy and the hotel restaurants are reasonably good and convenient. The price is a little high but compares fairly to other available places.

Clean room, friendly staff. They were very helpful in suggesting local activities and resources.

The staff was incredibly pleasant from the moment we walked in the door. The hotel was perfectly located from the downtown with easy access to Fort Lewis College as well. We stayed on the first floor walk-out, which was beautiful in the mornings. Thanks for a great stay!

It started with a smile and a warm cookie. My son immediately said "5 star upon getting the cookie. The rest of the stay didn't disappoint. This is the best location in Durango. Next to the D&SNGRR, and all the best restaurants and shops in Durango. We walked everywhere which means we wasted money on a rental car. Beautiful walking trail along the Animas River. Rooms are large and clean. We had ample room to add a rollaway for one of my children. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here in the future.

I enjoyed the hotel. It is close enough to walk to downtown Durango and has great atmosphere. It has a Western theme interior and it is well done. The breakfast is a bit expensive for what you get. They also have duvets on the bed which are too warm.
