Pros: nice pool n hot tub, great hot breakfast, pleasant staff, good first impression Cons: rooms need carpet or extremely deep cleaning.. our little white Maltese turned dark grey on bottom as did our socks.. plumbing problem smell near bathroom and sink doesn't flush or drain well....

Hotel itself is great. Very decent breakfast including some hot options. Rhisbwas my second time here. The obly downside was the staff who was absent at my arrival the rvening of the 21st, and then did not apologize but made an excuse about stepping out to the hotel across the street. I had been standing in the office for a few minutes with my three kids in the car when I decided to us the hotel phone in the lobby to dial zero to see if anyone would pick up. No answer, but staff appeared. He was friendly, but again fid nit apologize and only excused his absence. My key did not work due to some problem with a mineral in the magnetic tape not wirking outside. Bith staff members I interacted with about this were friendly, but it would have been appropriate to offer a discount dur to the extreme inconvenience of having to ask to be let into our room each time. None was offerwd. An alternate room was also not offered. All other hotel dtaff wad friendly.

Great hotel especially if you are going on the Polar Express! Very clean! Great staff!

Front desk was very helpful throughout our stay, breakfast had hot food and various items to choose from (best free breakfast on our vacation) and we especially enjoyed the two free drinks during happy hour each night.

A nice hotel that is conveniently located close to downtown. The balconies are nice and the overall accommodations are very good. The breakfast and receptions are nice.

Always a pleasant stay here. Clean rooms. Comfortable king size bed. Great location.

Nice place, good breakfast and clean pool , forcing me to put comments in here is rude on your part, I liked it ,,should be sufficient I gave you all 5 stars. If I had any complaints I wouldnt of Rated you so high.so be thankful I took the time and gave you a rating !

Hotel was clean, staff friendly....they have airport shuttle, and it was not available the day I needed it. I even called BEFORE I booked this hotel to make sure they had airport shuttle. Great location. I was very disappointed that I had to spend extra $$ on taxi to the airport and no one at the hotel cared.

The view out the window was of a concrete retaining wall for a building above and behind us. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was very good with healthy options. Convenient to downtown.

Hotel was great. The staff very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean. They have been updated in the past few years. The location is great. Walking distance to many activities, shops and restaurants. Happy hour in the evenings and a nice breakfast every morning. I would highly recommend the hotel. We have family here and do visit often and when we stay in a hotel we stay here. If you like biking and hiking this is the place. Fishing is in town or a short drive to different areas. Mesa Verde close by as well as a train ride to Silverton. You could easily spend a couple weeks here.

The rooms are nice and clean, spacious enough and the location of the hotel is great.

Great place to stay in the Dorango area Excellent contenital breakfast

Nothing worked in our room: safe was broken, cable tv was out, ac out, beds were horrible.

Walking distance to train & downtown save your money and take airport shuttle !!

Only one night but had everything that we needed. The room was clean and well appointed, convenient to the parking area. Did not use the pool-hot tub, but it looked good. The breakfast selection was very good, much better than so many other places that offer you a "breakfast" of dough and weak coffee. This one has everything you could want. We did miss the cocktail hour as we checked in late. Will have to return another time for that. A great value with all of the amenities. Very close to the train depot too if you are in Durango for that.

From the yummy breakfast to time to hit the hay, it is a warm, friendly, quiet place to spend the week in Durango. So close and easy walk to town shops and restaurants. Stayed at Rio Grande last year and came back for a reason......I get to Durango each year and have for many years.....friends there Other than a membership at Wyndum (formally Fairfield) which I have had, the Rio Grande is the best choice. Thank you for your interest in feedback for the hotels in Colo.

It was very nice, a good value and my accommodations wonderful. I was very pleased. Location was terrific because it was within a short walk to town, train station, restaurants, etc.

Lots of external noise, very loud, floors squeak and you can hear all of the people in the surrounding rooms.

Took an outside room to avoid the inside pool noise, and boy was it loud inside. The room we had on the outside was ok at best. There had to be at least five teenagers upstairs jumping and running around till midnite. Had to have the fan on and a pillow over my head. Breakfast was pretty good, only it was near the screaming brat pool. Would not go back, stay in pagosa springs at the hot springs.
