This is a nice enough hotel, but not worth the cost. While it is hard to find a reasonably priced hotel in Durango, CO, this place is just contributing to the problem. It is not that nice a place!

For us, it was a last minute, lets get out of town weekend! while on our travels through Expedia, we found Leland house! What a gem! clean safe easy readily accessible to food literally right next door! It was a 5 minute walk to the strip and train station ( which we did, also amazing). We highly recommend The Leland House and will definitely be back again!!!

The keyless access is so easy and convenient. The owner/management has thought of everything, except the sheets and pillows. The pristine condition of the accommodation lead me to expect cotton sheets and down pillows. Otherwise, everything was great.

Great Stay

The Leland House is a really cool historic building just south of Main Street next to Lola's (Great little spot for food). Parking in back down the alley was easy to find, but might be a little tight with a bigger vehicle. Our room was ready early and we were able to check in when we arrived. All information for check in was texted to us. The Leland team was very responsive when we needed to communicate with them. Since the building is old there is some noise from outside and in the hallways when you are in your room. This is to be expected in a building like this and they provide ear plugs for light sleepers. We stayed in a studio room. The room is not very big, but is perfect for 2 people. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is tiny. I am 6'1" and 190 lbs. I feel like if you are much bigger than that you may not fit in the bathroom in the studio. If you like unique hotels and historic buildings this place is for you. We would definitely stay again.

We loved this boutique hotel. They have nicely updated this historic 1927 property. We strongly recommend a two room suite, the extra space and comfort of chairs and a sofa are nice additions.
