I have parked my car in the hotel with charges. Anyway, i go every way by walking distance. New world just at your left hand side, countdown at your right hand side, cadbury world just apposite the hotel. Wifi strong.

The rooms were big, well-furnished and clean. Very friendly staff, walkable distance to Cadbury, the railway station, restaurants and Supermarkets. loved having Nandos on the corner but the location was the best part of this hotel

We were on the 4th floor & the road noise was incredible due to it being the main Nth one way street. Lucky I carry ear plugs so was able to get a good night sleep. They were doing up the 3rd floor but we arrived at 6.30pm & all the workers had gone home but wouldn't want to be around when they were working. The service was very good & the room was clean & tidy. The only other thing that shocked me was that they charged $10 for overnight parking in their car park. Whilst it was only $10 I would have thought that parking would be included. As there are many other Hotels in Dunedin to stay based on the noise & parking charge I won't be back

Good place to stay as we couldn't hire a car, Dunedin ran out of out of hire cars!! We could just walk around the city. Across the road from Cadbury, and Supermarkets. Very friendly staff. Rooms may vary, we had large living space but one bedroom out of 2 was tiny. Kids loved having Nandos on the corner!

Staff were extremely friendly and we were given a room on the 4th floor. At no point when we checked in did they tell us there were renovations happening let alone in the room next door and across the hall so from 8am we were surrounded by the sound of drilling and hammering. Not to mention the wet paint smell. There was a sign in the elevator but they should tell you before you check in. We were on our honeymoon so none of this was desirable. Didn't eat here but went to the bar for a drink and staff were once again very friendly.

I booked this hotel after reading others review. During the booking process I asked for a room way from road noise as I am light sleeper. On arrival I asked again. The room I ended up in was very noisy with road Trafic. I asked for to be moved for the remaining two nights but they were unable. The room I had was dated from the 70's but was clean. The shower fan was so noisy I was waiting for it to take off like a 747. Lighting in the room is bad... bright LED lights at head night which should be on the ceiling but not so blind you when they on. Currently they renovating level 3, I was on level 2 and there is a constant smell of wet paint and the noise from the workers starts before 8am. Even though parking was provided due to all the contractors onsite there were no parks at times. Breakfast was the highlight, I had a cooked breakfast one morning and continental the other and was good value. Just a note to others when booking ask for the upgraded rooms and not the old ones like I ended up in. Sadly our our company will not rebook here again. I like to sleep at night.

We often stay elsewhere for our trips to the "Edinburgh of the South" , but chose the Victoria Hotel for a stay in Dunedin for three reasons: 1) Close to Queen Mary Dunedin Hospital, where my wife was having a baby; 2) 24-hour reception (see reason 1!); 3) Good room deals for the location, with parking included in the rate if you book directly. I have to say that the staff were absolutely fantastic! They were able to help with all my enquiries, whether it was 2pm or 2am. They were also able to accommodate my fairly erratic booking changes throughout my stay - which they dealt with very efficiently. Thanks again to you all. I also have to give them five circles for the gesture of upgrading me to one of the new rooms for my last night. These are definitely a step-up in quality and would make a really, really nice base for a weekend break. Or your first good night's sleep in 72 hours!! I was especially impressed with the quality of the king double bed and the fantastic shower. I very much suspect the new rooms give a good idea of the look the Victoria are going for as they continue refurbishment. The standard rooms themselves are clean and comfortable. I don't think it's unfair to describe some of the furnishings and carpets as a wee bit tired, but I have no issues with that. The bed configuration of two singles and a Queen double was a bit unusual, but there was still plenty of space. The bathroom was small, but very tidy and the layout works. Having the bar, two restaurants and parking all within the same central city complex is really convenient. The parking is also easily accessible from SH1 and easy to get around. Apart from one very rushed continental breakfast, I didn't have a chance to try the restaurants out. Definitely will be returning to the Victoria. Hopefully I'll bring some or all of the family next time, too!

Next to the Cadbury factory and close to the Otago Farmers Market/Dunedin rail station. Hotel room is a good size with a large bathroom including a bath. Nice to be able to open the window and use a microwave with cutlery and plates. Yes, it's a bit tired and older style but not many hotels have a Nandos on the premises. The restaurant Well Manor is fine with large simple meals to fill your tum. Not much noise in the weekends, even with a busy road outside.

Stayed here with my mum a couple of months ago. Great location in the centre of Dunedin. The lady at reception, Rachel was super friendly and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.

Top notch service. They made my room better, gave me a great rate, and had excellent advice on what to do. Ask Ben, or Ben, Pavish, Rachel, or Laura. They all were very helpful. Couldn't ask for a nicer stay. Cheers, mates!
