But no better either. Spartan room in the old part of the hotel. They have built a new wing but my understanding is that those are more expensive. I tend to book through one of the hotel aggregators and only get a standard room so perhaps better chance of getting one of the better rooms if going directly - certainly a free upgrade was not forthcoming even though the hotel was quite quiet. I don't believe I will stay here again. 1894

A very pleasant Hotel to stay in. A warm welcome greets you by staff at this friendly hotel. Situated opposite Cadbury World and only a very short walk to shops and many eateries. Hotel also has its own restaurant. About a 15 min walk to Coach Station. There is two sides to this Hotel, one old, one new. Stayed in older style room but found it spacious, very clean and warm. Could be a bit hot in summer as no air conditioner in room. New side must have one, you would have to check. Housekeeping does a very good job on the cleanliness of the rooms. Toiletries not too bad either, better than some pricier hotels. Price paid was good.

We stayed one night here while in Dunedin for a family function in the central city so hotel was in a great location. There are two parts to this hotel an older building and a new one. I had booked a "deluxe double room" when we arrived we found we had been upgraded to the new building so I can't comment on the room I booked. The room we had was excellent, spacious and very comfortable, all facilities excellent. We didn't use any of the other facilities at the hotel and would happily book here again.

The Victoria Hotel more than exceeded my expectations for a small hotel. The room was modern and comfortable with all the amenities. It was a quiet location but very central to everything - easy walking distance for anything I needed. The staff were friendly and very helpful, from booking to check-in and leaving early. I really enjoyed my stay and will happily return in the future.

Stayed for 2 weeks on my return to New Zealand. Walking distance to CBD and super markets. well appointed rooms with daily room service. Friendly and helpful staff and . very popular with tour groups.

Centrally located hotel with paid parking onsite ($10). The rooms weren't fancy but comfortable enough. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We booked a 2 bedroom room but the kitchenette didn't have a sink for washing dishes and there was nowhere to sit to eat.

The hotel is going through the process of refurbishing its rooms and if the one I had is anything to go by they are making an excellent job of it. Modern, comfortable and stylish. Staff were excellent and actually gave the impression of being a happy team that enjoyed working together. Very helpful and friendly. Had a small gym, which was fine. Location was good near the city centre and offered onsite parking, unlike some other Dunedin hotels., albeit for an extra $10 per day.

We stayed here overnight. Found a good deal on, although you can just go to the Hotels website and book. Nice clean rooms, helpful friendly staff. The Hotel has a good restaurant on the ground floor. The prices are fair and the meals are lovely. Parking costs $10, but if you book through the Hotel's website you can get it for free. does not offer the same deal. Would stay there again.

Friendly staff with great rooms at very good value. I was surprised by the quality of the accomodation in the new wing which is very high and very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the automatic light in the bathroom but it maybe that it was me not finding the on off switch. The Vic is very handy to the CBD and supermarkets which is a bonus. It will be my accomodation preference in Dunedin from now on.

We arrived at hotel pretty excited for our romantic week-end away to be told they were booked out and the only room they had for us was a room with 4 single beds, in other words a footy players/watchers room. We were wrapped!!!!!! NOT. We booked a double room 3 months ago this was totally bull...t. We still had a great week-end but will not be going back.
