The staff are really accommodating. Family room is clean, the sheets are fresh and bathroom is fragrant. My kid really like it there. I recommend this place to those who opt for a relaxing travel that is far from the noise of the city.
We stayed here for 3 nights and that was enough. The first night we could not connect to wifi but that was fixed the next morning. There was no elevator to the 2nd and third floors. The room was clean the hot showers were good. The staff was pleasant. They were renovating half the hotel it seemed, The temporary restaurant was not appealing to us so we did not dine there. For the price it was a good place to stay.
Heeding the advise of a friend, our group of 7 dropped by the restaurant of Royal Suite Inn for lunch before proceeding to Dauin. In particular, we had their must-try Sizzling Bulalo in our gastronomic sights that Saturday. And it didn't disappoint us at all. A savoury gravy (great on rice) was slathered generously over the tender beef, tendons and ligaments that encased the bone that was easily 12 inches long. At close to 600 pesos, our order was complemented by some Spicy Gambas and Crispy Shrimp. Being very calorific and cholesterol-laden, I wouldn't advise anyone to indulge in this on a regular basis. Trying it out at least once should be good enough to scratch it off the bucket list.
Come here for one thing only: the Sizzling Bulalo! Please reserve in advance before going since at times it's always sold out or the place gets packed with hugnry tourists/locals especially during weekends. You can take a trike going to and from the place.
Very close to the airport. It isn't in a very spectacular part of town. This hotel is cheap, and as usual you get what you pay for. There are building works going on, and the noise lasted until about10pm and started again at 8am. It has quite large but basic rooms. For the money it is good value, but it is quite dated. If you are arriving late, or leaving early from the airport then this place is perfect. It isn't in the centre of town though so for a general stay in Dumaguete, you would probably be wise to pick something more central
Stayed 100 nights. The hotel is only OK, the rooms are in need of updating, too much Dark brown paint and basic local crafted furniture. The restaurant was being rebuilt so dining was in the top floor function room, like eating in an aircraft hanger, and remote from the kitchens so food was always cold. Uninspiring menu unless you like Filipino food. Comfortable beds, good aircon, safe deposit boxes. Hot good shower. The rooms are small, shower rooms minute. The construction noise was very intrusive from 6am till 11pm except Sundays. The deluxe rooms have a balcony, but otherwise the same as standard, OK if you smoke but otherwise not worth the extra.
Must try in Dumaguete ! It's monstrous and really good . Went here as my boyfriend really wanted some bulalo and saw the reviews . Didn't disappoint . Came in on a Saturday at 1:30pm and there were vacant tables . (It's a small place with maybe 25-30 capacity ) . Bulalo came within 15 minutes .
We ordered just one dish: The Sizzling Bulalo. It was served on a hot plate, oozing with cream and some sauce. This dish is definitely nor for the faint the of heart, literally! Overflowing cholesterol, surely! It was, however, fall of the bone meat! It was deliciously sinful. Next time, I'll try another dish which is not too much of a strain to my arteries. Don't get me wrong though. This is a delicious and unique dish. Recommended to be tried once by people over the age of 45. The younger crowd can order this however often they want :)
Stayed there two nights. Was promised a free breakfast with room, this was not true....First night only and not worth eating, disgusting. Pluses are huge list of TV programs and for those whom wish to escape the hussle and bussle of Dumaguete its OK. Also nice food about 15 minutes walk down road, Gabys resto. Down side is, no hot water although one pays for it, poorly maintained rooms with broken shower in both rooms I stayed in. Workers beside window from 6am on, very noisy. Rooms clean but very tiny and over priced.
We went to this place to eat. On a budget of 2k and 7 persons, we surely had full stomachs when we left the place. The only downside of the restaurant was the service. It almost took them an hour to serve the food. We ordered Bulalo Soup (typical filipino beef soup), sizzling squid (it was a bit small), buttered chicken (7 slices of chicken with potato chips--- i liked it), chopsuey (mixed veggies), and their best seller: sizzling bulalo (costs around 520php and really worth it!! Be careful with your cholesterol level). We ended up taking out the food because we were already full. We ate on a Sunday night that may have been the reason the service was a bit slow. But overall, it was good.
