At Hotel Perla, the staff at front desk was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is in a nice area on the promenade and steps from Sunset Beach. The bus stop is a very short walk at the end of the street. I found my way from the airport using the airport bus and then the city bus and then the directions to Hotel Perla that were on the website. It was a very short walk from the bus stop by the post office. There is a very good restaurant in hotel. The room was clean and I had a nice balcony. The air conditioning was not super cool. It was, however, adequate. I would have preferred cooler. The bed was not that comfortable. I found it very difficult to open my room door. It may have been just different kind of locks in that country, although I did not seem to have the issue at the other hotels. It was just very tricky to get my door open with the key. I would stay there again though.
The room: This room was decent and clean and the decor has been updated but still tired and feels like the hotel is "trying" to appeal to boutique hotel clientele and failing a bit. The TV in the room is smaller than a computer monitor and the only English channel received is CNN news. Bathroom: Only hand soap and body wash is supplied in the bathrooms and they supplied only 1 bath towel per room. Speaking of towels, they are tired looking and thin and barely wrapped around my petite frame. The water pressure in the taps and shower was strong but the drain was VERY slow in both the sink and shower. Amenities: The lobby is small with just a desk and there is a restaurant occupying the main floor, like most hotels in the area. Whether you take a taxi or Uber to the hotel, you will be dropped off by the parking lot close to the hotel and you just walk towards the fountain and turn left, walk 3 buildings in and you will see the Perla. The best thing is that there are no stairs to reach the hotel and no need to haul your luggage up stairs to access your room as there is a small lift. Location: A huge PLUS! It is a 5 minute walk to a Tommy's Supermarket, 5 minute walk another direction to the bus stop which you can take the #6 15 minutes to the Pile Gates, and steps to many many restaurants. TIPS: To take a bus, go outside to the Kiosk across the walkway from the hotel entrance and buy bus pass cards for 12 KN, otherwise you will pay 15 KN at the bus - cash only. When taking the bus back from Pile Gate, ask for the Post Office stop if you're unsure where to get off. This hotel does not allow outside food according to their house rules. Overall, I am ok having stayed here and my only complaint is that my expectations were higher from the photos and the noise was a bit annoying but all that is made up for by the price per night.
We spent a week here in October. Hotel was clean, rooms were a good size with a balcony. Staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast good. The restaurant Agora part of the hotel also very good. In a great location in Lapad, the newly modernized beach just a few minutes walk away.
Amazing location! The staff were all so kind and really helpful. The room is very large and has a great layout, it's also so clean, modern, and tidy. Feels very fresh. And as a guest they offer 10% off at their restaurant for dinner! The only negative is we were on level 2 which provided no view or privacy on our balcony at all.
This Hotel is situation in a pedestrian precinct roughly half way between the beach and the main rd where Buses stop. Loads of hotels, bars & restaurants line the walkway so a very convenient location. Breakfast was good for a 3* IMO, certainly better than some 3 stars in Greece & Italy. Cold cheese, meats, hard boiled eggs etc and always the offer of a cooked egg, omelette etc. Slightly amused by the question below asking if the Hotel has a tennis ct, but very unusual for a 3* in the town centre / city to have this! On costs one thing to note is that Croatia is not cheap, and Dubrovnik is one of the most expensive towns in the Country.
We stayed here for 4 nights in late September. Decent hotel, good location in the middle of the strip of bars and restaurants in Lapad with the pebble beach a 2-3 minute walk away and the bust stop into the old town only 5 minutes away. Free WiFi and safe in the room, hot water shower (not conditional on solar), air conditioning works so what more do you need? It’s Dubrovnik, you don’t spend time in your room, you’re out pretending your in Game of Thrones in the old town.... The restaurant is always busy, we haven’t eaten there but we haven’t heard any grumbles either so it’s obviously decent enough. We would consider booking again if we are heading back down this way.
Unless it comes free with your stay at the hotel, don't pay 67 kunas for an omelette, coffee, and bread. I got up to get jam and butter for my bread and was told it didn't come with the meal! More reasonable options on the promenade with much better coffee.
I stayed here in July 2017 for 4 nights with my husband and 4 children, and it was excellent. The rooms are fresh and modern, having been recently renovated. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and spent time guiding us to grocery stores, ferry terminals, the old town by bus, etc. The wait staff was also very cheerful in the morning at breakfast, and in the evenings. I've stayed at a lot of 3 star hotels, and Hotel Perla's interior was one of the nicest. Highly recommended.
We ended up visiting this restaurant 3 times in our 12 day holiday. The food, service and atmosphere was perfect. All of the staff, including the owner, his parents and family dog were lovely. We felt welcomed and were fed extremely well. Even down to the chef giving me his recipe for the chicken pasta dish that all the family loved. Very rare in our house! We would recommend this restaurant for a good value, lovely food with high class service.
This hotel had everything we needed! We stayed for 4 nights, and it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is conveniently located in the pedestrian promenade in Lapad, and it's a five minute walking distance to the bus to town (#6 bus), many restaurants and cafes, souvenir shops, and the beach is a short walk away. The room was small (#201) but had a lovely balcony to the front, with distant views of the beach. It was very clean, with comfortable mattresses and pillows. The bathroom was a good size and very clean, just be aware that the bathtub/shower is very tall and a little difficult to enter, but not a problem for us. Barbara, the daytime receptionist was outstanding! She was very helpful, answered our many questions, gave advice on nearby restaurants and attractions, always with a friendly smile!! She made our stay at the hotel extra special!! Thanks again, Barbara!!
