This hotel is absolutely amazing. It was exactly what i was looking for. Thete is an amazing view onto the castle and water, old town is within walking distance, the facilities are amazing- two jacuzzis and a pool, and on top of that there is acess to the water. An incredible hotel and perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Close to old town yet secluded with privacy. Recommend sea view room with balcony for enjoyable stay.

Avoid room 120. It is a premium balcony room facing the ocean however, it is right above the outdoor bar and is extremely noisy all afternoon up to 1:30 in the morning.

I stayed here with my two kids (age 16 & 18). It was the perfect place, by far, in all of Dubrovnik. The staff was incredible. We walked to the old city daily for night life/dinner or sightseeing. Super easy. They had lounge chairs for sunning, with easy access for diving in and out of the clear Adriatic. We also loved the spa treatments we had. I can't forget to mention that the view from our rooms was unbelievable. Splurge for a sea view. Impossible to praise this hotel enough...thank you Hotel Excelsior for making our trip so memorable!

Spent a week in Dubrovnik- the first part in the old town in an older bed and breakfast hotel. For the second part of the trip I wanted a higher end experience at Hotel Excelsior. The pool, the beach front, restaurants- all amazing. My balcony view of Lokrum Island- again, amazing. Inside my room was another story unfortunately. The bathroom and bedding were all crisp, clean, and luxury, but the drapes/carpeting were very worn and very outdated. Next to my bed was a large stain on the carpet and drapes which appears to have been vomit. So that sort of kills the luxury experience when you can see those worn splash stains greeting you every morning.

Our stay was short but great. We felt upgraded the minute we saw our room. It overlooked the sea (not a big grand window but cute small balcony). A suite. Staff was helpful and friendly. Great location for an easy walk to the old walled city. All was wonderful.

This hotel is wonderful. I stayed there for two nights over my anniversary. It is very comfortable, relaxing, romantic and beyond expectations. Dubrovnik is incredible. Absolutely get a sea view room.

This hotel is fabulous. Location, quality, staff... everything is 5*. There was a slight problem with our reservation when we arrived, so they upgraded us from a sea view to a balcony room. It was the most amazing hotel room we've ever stayed in....anywhere. We had unobstructed views of the islands and Dubrovnik. The hotel is a short walk to the city walls, so we didn't need our car during this leg of the trip. The complimentary parking was nice, but the free breakfast was better. The buffet offered a wide range of options. The staff was really exceptional. The doorman and concierge that work the afternoon shift and the dark haired waitress were amazing. I wish I'd gotten their names before we left because they certainly made the hotel stay very pleasant. Top notch. We plan to visit Dubrovnik again...and we'll definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it...and upgrade to a view room if you have the chance.

The location was perfect, close to the old town and on the ocean. Views were out of this world. Breakfast was 5 stars. On arrival we we put in a dark room under a street. I talked with management and they were booked that day. Th next day they moved us and gave us an upgrade. They were very polite and did their best. Rooms were very large. I can't think of a nicer place to stay.

Nice location about 10 min walk fron Old Town, beautiful pool, beachfront is only okay as there is no beach - just rock leading into the water. Breakfast is good but our dinner experience was mediocre and overpriced. Just a warning though - they charged us for the room even though we had already paid through a travel booking site. They fixed this quickly but it was still a pain to deal with

Excellent hotel to stay that is close to the Old Town, but still away to miss all the crowds.

The Excelsior could not be more perfectly located for a visit in Dubrovnik. It's an easy downhill walk of 5 minutes to the entrance of Old Town. Situated right on the sea, it's worth it to splurge for the sea view room. The view is stunning. To the right is Old Town, and across the sea is a lovely island. The room was of decent size and had a nice balcony that took advantage of the view. The room was a tad bit tight, and could do without the extra chair and table that were in the way. The bed and pillows was comfortable. And the bathroom was spacious and very well equipped. The breakfast buffet was quite decent, and in a lovely location, again taking advantage of the view. And thank goodness, they had parking at the hotel! After driving from Split (where parking was non-existent), the last thing we wanted to deal with was finding a spot. This is a must stay when in Dubrovnik.

I have stayed at 5 major hotels in Dubrovnik and this one is my favorite! It was really nice being able to sit out in the sun and swim from the sea wall without having to worry about a rocky beach and wearing water socks. It was also an easy walk into Old Town. The only reason I didn't give the amenities a perfect score is the fitness center was very small and lacking. You could get by with what they had but the equipment needed a little maintenance. I let them know at the front desk and he said they would get right on it. Highly recommend!!
