Good but missing important features

Location is perfect, just meters away from the Ploče Gate and the view from the rooms is truly amazing. The size of the apartment is very big and confortable for up to 8 guests with 2 bathrooms. Now the downside. When we booked we saw the pictures and we saw a modern decorated apartment, what we received was an older halfway remodeled apartment, definitely not what we saw in the pictures. This is totally misleading, so beware. The owner said that Hotels.com mixed the pictures of 2 apartments that the owner has. The kitchen urgently needs an update, there were pots, pans and utensils but there were definitely a lot more lids than pots. Silverware and glasware weren’t in the best of shapes. The entrance hall is full of things and boxes and during our 5 night stay we were welcomed by 2 hangers for drying clothes full towels, tablecloths and even underwear and no one bothered to take them away. Not really a nice sight when you arrive. The house were the apartment is located is really, really beautiful, but needs more dedication and attention to detail to be rated 3 stars as it is currently rated at the entrance. I think this apartment is a jewel in the making. With more care it could be rated easily 5 stars, but in its current condition it is just average.

Four nights at Guest House Palma. Exceptional service to assist me in airport transfer and information. Ideal location for Old Town, Beach, excellent Coffee Shop (Contigo Coffee), and Cable Car without dragging suitcase through busy street in Old Town. House was spacious. I would have liked the outside space in courtyard to have been cleaned without the clutter - not usable during my stay.

Fantastic location and great hosts

Our hosts were readily available and extremely helpful, including booking of tours. We used WhatsApp which allowed 2 way contact in English when needed. Location was brilliant. 1 minute to the local bus (lines 5 + 8), 2-3 minutes walk to the east gate of the old town, and 5 minutes to Banje Beach Club. Can be quite a loud area with bars and restaurants, and on one night there was a rooftop event at Culture Club Revelin. However the walls to the apartment are very thick which meant we couldn't hear any noise once we closed the door and had the cooler on low. Be aware there are a few steps (maybe 40?) to get there, but that's not a lot particularly when you see how many stairways there are throughout the city and surrounds. Lounge area is comfortable and well appointed. The bed was a bit old and soft when we arrived, however the hosts had a brand new one installed during our stay... we hadn't complained, they are simply working on a range of improvements. Very comfortable now. Kitchen could be a bit better equipped... it's got enough pans and utensils for breakfasts and simple meals/snacks, but not really set up for a full dinner. I would be surprised if the hosts don't make improvements there too given their proactive approach. We ate out every night as you have great access to so many good restaurants, so not a negative from our perspective. In summary, we had a great time and truly appreciated the location of the apartment and the wonderful hosts.

Owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming and happy to help in any way they can. Great location just 3-5 minutes walk from the old town and harbour. Spacious enough for two, although a little dark and the bed rather soft. Air conditioning was a welcome treat on the hot days.
