The property is on a major route for easy access. The managers were accommodating to our special request for checking in early. They were very busy the weekend we stayed that we had to make 2 separate reservations for each nights stay. They gave us the key to the second room in the morning when we checked out of the first room. The continental breakfast was toast with jams, OJ, milk, cereal, and pastries, coffee and tea. Restaurant on the grounds was not open for breakfast.
A small business, single owner motel. The buildings are old and there are no frills. (pool, gym, business center) This is not a complaint. The Royal Inn is a basic, clean, maintained motor lodge. The price matches these traits at about half of what the famous national chain motels in St Mary's cost. I stay at The Royal Inn often and will again.
The Royal Inn is an old, basic motor lodge. I have stayed there several times and will again. My rooms have always been clean and comfortable. For me, spending half the cost of a major chain motel with a local small business is a no Brainerd.

Room was very spacious and pristine. Beds and pillows were beyond comfortable. Perfect blackout shades. Very big tub and hot hot (scalding) water in the shower which I love. Mini fridge was large and there was also a single cup coffee maker. Microwave available at front desk. Although a bit outdated, was perfect for my stay with a great price and cleanliness was proved priority. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

The room was clean and with minus 12 degree temperature, we were happy to see the heat was already on in the rooms. We slept well. Breakfast was not too great but adequate.
overall good. requested non smoking room but could tell it was at one time a smoking room.
Door was missing a dead bolt,make me not safe ,bed was hard ,air was flowing through a/c unit ,temperature outside was 25
The room is clean and covered the basics. I liked the radiant heat as it is very quiet. OK for a night or two and the price is right.
