Very convenient property located right on the square. Room size is larger than others we have had in our stays in Europe. However, bed and pillows are not that comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful - lots of good options. Great option if convenience is a driving factor in where you stay.

I stayed 3 nights. The location of Star G was excellent - walking distance to Dresden highlights, the river, and shops, cafes and dining options. The room was clean and spacious and I liked the fact that windows opened for fresh air. However my room faced the clock/bell tower and although I generally like the sound of church bells in Europe, the chimes were intrusive, continuing until midnight.

The only problem we’d had was the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. The air flow was there but big cold. That is the disappointment. The area was good and had brilliant restaurants and food shops.

Very central but still quiet

Hotel located right on the central square. Central and easy to reach everywhere we needed, especially as the main Tram stop was right outside the doors. Check-in quick and easy. Staff on desk helpful. Room was located right next to the lift which I was worried about, but we didn't hear it at all over our 5 night stay. Room clean and comfortable. There was a coffee pod machine with 1 free pod each per stay - as non-coffee drinkers we requested a kettle which was provided for the duration of our stay, just as well I took my own tea bags - also no sugar or milk/creamer was provided. There was an in room chiller- not quite a fridge. Bathroom was compact but well equipped and shower ran very well. Breakfast was well run and re-stocked items very efficiently. Good selection of fresh fruit and pancakes made me very happy! No "normal" tea bags provided - all herbal or fruit based, or coffees. There was hot chocolate available at breakfast too. My complaint is that the parking for the hotel is part of the general city parking system underneath the main square. Although a slight discount was offered as being a resident, it was still 20 euros per night - I had read the information on their page as the cost per night would be what they reduced the price by. We ended up moving our car to a park and ride car park (free) and using the trams while in the city instead. The car park being under the main square also made it more difficult to get cases to the hotel.

Visiting Dresden? Then this hotel is located within a few minutes walking distance from all the main Altstadt attractions. A great city, super friendly people, fantastic public transport. My only regret is that I wasn't able to stay there longer.

Central stay in Dresden

Perfect location, right by one of the squares, but no street noise. Very good sized room and bathroom. Friendly staff. Fridge , but no kettle for tea. Drinks dispenser for when the bar is closed. Old plaster “band aid” on bed frame and spilt coffee that had not been cleaned up on desk, but otherwise clean.

Clean & comt but nothing special

I will start with the good points: this hotel is clean and spacious and has lovely staff. The room was comfortable and had all I needed. But overall it felt bland a bit dated, nothing special that stood out and it was quite pricey, so not great value for money overall. A safe choice, but not a memorable one.

The hotel's location is very convenient and close to the main sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. But the furnishings/interiors were drab and made the hotel somewhat uninviting, and the single room I stayed in was tiny. (Everything looked better in the pictures!) And can't help but mention the Wi-Fi was very slow.
