We have stopped for a night with my wife an daughter on our way to Xmas vacation. Everything was excellent. In the evening we had a short walk to the old-town (only 10 min walk) and could do some sightseeing even with this short stay. The room was large and we strongly recommend it for families.
Hotel was ok, but of a small issue with some drain odours when we came back in the evening into the room. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. My big issue with the maritim was the bar staff : on first night we popped in for a nightcap and I went to the bar to order. I was studiously ignored by the young barman and his waiters. I don’t know if it was waiter service or not and having been blanked for a few minutes, I guess I will never know, as I took my custom elsewhere! Suspect I will use another hotel next time I’m in Dresden.
High cost but you get luxury for your money. We paid 350€ for a double, no breakfast. Spa at a cost and we were offered a sauna experience for 5€. For that high cost, you expect a kind of all inclusive arrangement. Walking distance to city center but 2km to main railroad center. Nice lobby area but only two glass elevators produces queues. Spatious guest room, we had a nice river view from the fifth floor. Very good beds, although well used. Large TV set. Fine bathroom with separate WC and bidé.
It's perfect luxurious hotel on the banks of river. Amazing lobby, own wellness area, restaurant, bar, live music in the evening. Very welcoming personnel. The parking is twice as expensive as any other parking in Dresden: 20EUR/day vs 10EUR/day in the closed multilevel public parking nearby.
I stayed 4 nights at the hotel at a conference. The rooms are clean, the hall is impressive. The staff is nice and helpful. I didn't experience any problem (I do not often say such an opinion). The breakfast worth its price, you can ask for freshly made omelette also. The hotel is located next to river Elben, and close to the downtown.
We only stayed one night as Dresden was on the way to our destination, but it was a wonderful hotel. We felt so comfortable there, they were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were nice, spacious, clean, and the entire place felt warm and cozy after a long day of travel and driving. The breakfast was impressive with almost everything imaginable. There were 3 rows of buffet food, drinks, coffees, pastries, and even a station to have freshly made omelettes. I will definitely choose to stay here again.
Recently stayed for 2 nights with Riviera Travel.....wow,lovely,it is not often that give 5 star but I must with this hotel.how often do you get the fluffy dressing gowns and slippers well you do here..Beautiful large room overlooking the river.Dresden itself is amazing,we loved it so much to see. There are coffee facilities in the rooms,no English tea,..some sorts of fruit tea,not being a tea drinker I'm afraid can't help there....Lovely bar, reasonable priced, lovely breakfast,in fact no complaint from us,staff very approachable,...We recommend.
This was my second stay at the Maritim in Dresden. The first time I had a wonderful experience here, and got a room not so large but with beautiful views to the Elbe river. So, for my second visit to Dresden, I booked directly with the hotel. It didn't help much, this second time things didn't go so well, it was a mixed experience. I got a room on the top floor, where rooms are spacious in sq. ft., but the slanted ceiling takes a lot of space and the views were gone, the windows are high up, just skylights. The best thing was the breakfast buffet with abundant choices, including fish cuts, eggs to order (a bit slow, they cook just one order at a time) and oriental food. During weekdays the hotel is busy with business people (they have a convention center) and on weekends with German tourists. For dinner the waiters are busy with business parties, and it was hard to get their attention. Service overall is good but not outstanding.
Very well executed conversion from an old warehouse to a modern and stunning hotel building. The reception area led into a full height atrium with floors and rooms leading off on all sides. I stayed just 2 nights as part of a tour of Berlin and Dresden and Riviera travel made a great choice of where to stay. My room was a good size and the air con was working and helped to cool what was a very warm bed and duvet. There was a well-equipped mini-bar and great bathroom facilities including a bidet. Breakfast on the ground floor provided every imaginable item if you were hungry and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall a great choice to stay when visiting Dresden either on business or on holiday.
My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have stayed in a lot of hotels over the past ten years or so. This one stands out. The location is lovely; close enough to the centre of Dresden to walk it (about 10 minutes at a gentle pace) and far enough away to be on the edge of the main hustle and bustle. Being close to the river gives you the chance to have walks on a safe and level footing along the promenade. We had room 724, which overlooks the city and by night, the view is simply beautiful. The hotel is quite large, but not overly so that it feels oppressive. The lobby is stunning and very light and airy. There are three lifts to the upper floors; two are glass boxes, the third is a standard encased box! The room we had was spacious and warm. Even though the air conditioning had been turned off for the season, our room kept an even temperature in the early autumn and being able to safely have the window open, kept it from getting stuffy. The beds were comfortable and the quilts very light and warm. The bathroom had a combined bath/shower (powerful) and there was a separate toilet/bidet area. The towels were immaculately clean and soft, unlike some places we have stayed in! Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the ground floor and was as expansive as it was generous. Typical buffet fare, with the option to enjoy a glass of bubbly should you want! The room is large enough to serve hundreds of diners, so no need to rush to get a table in the morning. Weekdays, breakfast is served from 06:30-10:00, so quite flexible. All in all, a really nice place to stay and we happily recommend this hotel should you visit Dresden.
