Amazing hotel, centrally located, swimming pool, sauna, loved our stay there
In advance of arriving the staff was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and in helping us with plans for attrending an outside event. The breakfasts were delightful with the exception of omelets which were not edible, the only negative the whole stay. Location was excellent for The Christmas Market and accessibility to restaurants of quality and different menus.
The hotel is located in a former palace (mansion), has historic charm and modern features. We booked regular (not business class) room; the room was very spacious, with an alcove and a window that could be open, so we always had fresh air in the room. The king bed was comfortable; large closet had enough room for all items we had with us. The bar had regular items and was not outrageously priced. Flat TV was on the larger side by European measures, and had many programs in various languages, including several English language programs. The outstanging feature of the room was the bathroom. Extremely spacious, dressed in marble, it had a huge jacuzzy for two and regulated heater. The hotel is located two blocks from the market plaza, few blocks from the historical center of the city, walking distance (no more than 10 minutes walk) from any regular tourist destinations and shopping malls, and multiple clusters of restaurants. Tram, bus, and hop-on-hop-off stops are front of the hotel. Continental breakfast was not included; it was excellent and diverse, but pricy (22 euros per person). Pool is of a regular hotel's size, with water on a cold side; sauna is regular. Staff is knowledgable, respectful, and helpful. There were no problems communicating in English, and all our requests were promptly satisfied. Price for the room was very reasonable considering level of service and location. I liked the room very much, got kudos from my wife, will stay there again when in Dresden, and recommend it.
