You probably do get what you pay for and I got a great price on an overnight stay. This was a really nice place in it's day but I assume due to it's middle of nowhere location that day has passed. Located just of I10 exit. Some minor complaints TV needs upgrading to flat screen and post the height of the portico on the front of it, I drive a high top van and others have run into the portico and the lights so I didn t want to try and fit under. I would definitely base myself there to visit the area in the future at a cheap price. Walking distance to a small variety of food and stores. If you are looking for a cheap nights stay this place is ok, they even have an indoor pool.
Even through this was our first visit, we were treated as if family or old friends. They were so kind to give us a very early check-in so we could get settled, refreshed and get on with our adventures on the Coast. When we needed extra towels, they were so quick to respond. The bed was comfortable and everything cleaned and nice. They are in the middle of renovating, and we certainly can see the results. They have a wonderful indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi in the huge atrium. It was away from the bustle of Biloxi, Gulfport, etc., and there are eating places right across from the hotel. They are in the process of establishing a Chappy's restaurant inside the hotel. I can't wait to go back SOON! There is a pub on the outside of the hotel which will be a jazz piano bar. I cannot say enough about the young manager, Josh. He was the most personable and caring manager I have ever met. He even saw me struggling with my luggage and insisted on helping me get it to my car. What a unusual young man for these days and times. Such courtesy is not found! I will definitely book a room there again soon!
Food stains on wall. Holes in walls, curly black hairs on bathroom floor, light fixture missing in bathroom, window extremely dirty (almost foggy looking with scum). No working light by desk.. brass colored light fixture by beds was covered with fingerprints and smudges. It looks like they may have been rehabbing some of the rooms since there were workers in two of them. Restaurant that was advertised was not available, nor was there any continental breakfast available. I would not recommend this motel and can't believe they even charged us as much as we paid, even though Madrid Gras was only 1-1/2 hours away. Do Not Go Here!! I have pictures available as proof of the above if anyone needs to see.
My bathtub was peeling and leaking and would fill up everytime I would take a shower. Some of the rooms have rouches. The ceiling of the hotel leaks in the lobby, in the hallway, in front of the doors to the rooms, over the pools. The vending machines do not work. The pillows are flat and stained. The beds have stains on them.
Nice and convenient for the price, you get what you pay for, the less you pay the less you get. No morning breakfast just a place to lay down and sleep. Don't go in expecting a lot of extras cause that's really not what you are paying for. Nice staff.
Fair accommodations. Rooms need to Be updated, but were adequate for my short stay . Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Fast food establishments nearby. Towns of Waveland and Bay St Louis are nearby that provide all kinds of activities. Beaches and casinos are in short driving distance
This was a dirty hotel. I'm okay with old and basic but insects and hair in the bed is not okay. Pillows had stains and floor and microwave where filthy. They would only offer me another room. I paid to stay elsewhere. It just wasn't worth it. The lobby was so cold that the receptionist had to wear a down jacket.
We stayed inside by the pool. Kids had a fun time swimming and getting in the hot tub. Room was clean and housekeeping staff was so nice. We stayed 3 nights and never had any problems. Hotel is right off the intersate but was very quite. Had plenty of places to eat and you can walk to them. Over was a great stay. All the updates they are doing is wonderful. We will be back.
Wow, what a difference. Came here a few years back for a bowling tournament next door. Friendly desk clerk. Diamondhead has come a long way since then. New shopping center and a Family Dollar across the street. I like it. I chose a outside room I could pull my truck in front of. It was good value for the money. Didn't like the fact the whole place in NON SMOKING. Oh well. Would still return.
Because of bad history as big as this place is, nobody was staying there. I thought ir was nice ti have it kind of quiet but unfortunately I stuck out like a sore thumb. Went across the street to grab food and two cop cars ran up as I got out of my car for alleged running the only four way stop sign. They then asked if I had been drinkin and whipped out a breathelyzer. Since i had just taken a sip of a beer less then 10 minutes earlier to see if the beer was still worth drinking because was left over from the night before and thats when I decided to get food first. They handcuffed me , three me face down into the back of the police car. Had my vehicle towed and as I kept being distresed about, had dogs in the room, which they called animal control a nd had picked up. The only rhing I can think of is with the bad hsitory of this place they thought I was up to no good.Or they do not want people staying there. I have hired a private eye because something weird is going on at that plave. It looks nice but nobody stays there. Here the owner is as crooked as an okd ladys finger.
