Spent 4 days at the Radisson Blu, Dhaka. The morning breakfast spread was excellent and the service staff outstanding. They took initiative to provide coffee and to attend to my request. Only set back is that its far from shopping amenities. But very near airport.
During my last visit to Dhaka I choose Radisson Blue due to Location near Airport and out from the traffic of city center. Hotel is definitely not new but well maintained, I booked in advance trough Agoda as offering a very good deal with business room package, cheaper than direct booking. Room size big, furniture old fashioned but everything functional and maintained, bathroom ok even not as big as for new hotels standards, everything was clean and in order. Breakfast with good quality and wide choice, staff during peak hours (even it was not so crowded I have to say) tends to forget requests, often not easy to get their attention. Apart from the average experience during breakfast, I found the staff in general very friendly and efficient, better than other hotels in the area I ever visited in the past. Gym was well furbished and not crowded in the morning, swimming pool area looked nice. Business class package in my opinion is only worth if offered with a heavy discount, I appreciated the free laundry pieces, complimentary airport pick up and drop off, late check out until 6 PM while Business Class Lounge was definitely sub par. During evening happy hour at lounge they offer free boozes but food selection is practically non existent, very small and appalling buffet with few cookies and nuts, only the very kind and assertive lounge attendant (I'm sorry I forgot his name) tried everything to relieve my disappointment asking for some hot and cold bites to main restaurant. On the other side one morning I tried breakfast at lounge that was a better experience, order a la carte, selection definitely limited comparing to main buffet restaurant but a very quiet and relaxed environment. The overall experience at Radisson Blue was positive, next time I may consider to return depending on fare options as different hotels in Gulshan area offer competitive prices nowadays.
I want to express my thanks for the service received at this hotel, every person from the staff that I came in contact with was friendly and polite; esspecially I am very grateful to Mister Siraj- person responsible for the business centre lounge in the lobby , he was very thoughtful to comfort me and was able to provide a charger for my device for the duration of my stay, even it was not available at the reception, which was important for my work. Your staff confirmed your 100% customer satisfaction philosophy. Keep it up! With respect, Cabin crew of flydubai, Nicoleta Maimescu
The bedsheets was very dirty in my and my colleague room, please avoid the restaurant at 8 floor the chef Maine is an housekeeping, the bathroom was also dirty, i’m Repeter guest but now the hotel is gone down and is very expensive
Hotel is tired but the staff are exceptional. The hotel is very safe and always first choice as I travel alone . I am always well looked after there . Rooms are comfortable and quiet . New Australian chef has seen the restaurant improve and caters to all nationalities.
Radisson Blu Dhaka has an office at the airport so it is easy to get transportation to the hotel from Dhaka airport. The staff will also offer mineral water bottles on the way. It is only a short journey to the hotel because Radisson Blu Dhaka is conveniently located about 15 to 20 minutes away from Shah Jalal International Airport, Dhaka. This helps you avoid the long and time consuming traffic jams of downtown Dhaka city. The very polite and attentive team at the hotel speaks good English and provides excellent room service. All rooms have very comfortable and cozy beds which offer a good night’s sleep and proper rest for the day ahead. The large air conditioned rooms are spotlessly clean, modern and well equipped with high speed WiFi Internet, cable TV, as well as other amenities. Remember to put the "Do not disturb" sign outside your door before you sleep. Otherwise the hardworking house keeping will knock on your door at 8 am to clean your room. All atrium rooms are good if you don’t mind the piano. If you want to hear absolutely no noise, choose rooms at the top floors towards the back of the hotel or the business class rooms from the sixth floor upwards. The business class rooms are the best rooms! Multiple restaurants in the hotel provide wonderfully delicious food both foreign as well as local, Bangladeshi food. The magnificent restaurant at the top floor has been renovated recently and the food is extraordinary. The new menu offers many different cuisines to suit all needs, including vegan and vegetarian. The huge lobby, lounge, and the garden make this hotel an aesthetically beautiful property with lots of green space around the hotel inside its boundary wall. This is suitable for evening or morning walks. There is a clean and well maintained gym which operates flawlessly together with the steam room and the sauna nearby. This expansive seven acre property has an outdoor pool, a fitness room, a spa, tennis courts, a business center and meeting room too. Although this is a no smoking hotel, there are select areas provided for smokers where they can go to smoke. Hotel facilities include a cigar bar and multiple restaurants, which offer a variety of different cuisines, including upscale regional cuisines. This hotel is a perfect place for business dinners and other special occasions. Most importantly you can expect good hospitality here.
The reasons for this are listed as follows: - The first room I was given was a non-smoking room, but it stank of cigarettes - After changing rooms, the second room's air conditioning was not working - Unclean room / there were visible stains (evidenced from pictures taken) - The bedding was ripped in several places (evidenced from pictures) - Hotel provided plug extension cord was defective / not working - Mattress was extremely hard, it did not have a topper as even lower starred hotels do. You can find a better bed at a Travelodge or Ibis. - The balcony was sealed shut, a visible and important feature of this hotel
Just one five start hotel I like so much that is Radisson Blu in BD. Most of the hotel's employees uneducated, but I found Radisson Blu is very concern about it. I don't have any problem with educated or uneducated. Even I am not a highly educated person. But when someone visits a five start hotel, people expect the high standard service from the hotel side. I think Radisson Blue is doing that. Besides I have a suggestion to Radisson Blu when your Bar stuff asked me that sir you have to pay 700 or 900 BDT for listening to the live music. That is really embarrassing. Remove the charge, people will love you and come back to you. You are losing your potential customers for that. The location, room quality, food & the most important to me that is "behavior" Quite good. I recommend visiting the hotel. Hope you will enjoy.
I have been there several times for my foreigner guests stay and also attend some official launching programs. *Rooms are really good, modern and well equipped. *Various kinds of authentic cousins are available *Services are top class *Huge buffet items In short its excellent but in my opinion, 2 things that I have some objections. 1. Room rent is really high for a normal deluxe room 2. Its in a airport highway so its almost impossible to get a public transport. Though now we have UBER and PATHAO or can use hotel limousine service.
Rooms are ok nothing fancy , pool side is nice , gym is ok, buffet are good but almost sane menu everyday which could be changed . Overall not bad but as for pricing I feel they over charge on almost everything. The bar is not family friendly that’s a minus point .
