A good night’s sleep and a glass of wine is the perfect recipe for relaxation. If your idea of recharging involves the pop of a cork and the cool feel of fresh bedlinens, a winery hotel is the vacation you need. Luckily, many of the most beautiful wineries in Ghana double as hotels or inns. No designated driver required when you’re staying just steps away!
Ghana wineries make great getaways
Ghana winery hotels have clear benefits: You never have to worry about how you’ll get home, and the wine keeps coming. Plus, winery vacations are perfect for all types of trips.
• Family: Get together your adult siblings and parents to make new memories. The greatest family reunions are the ones that feature group activities and plenty of wine.
• Friends: Girls’ trip? College reunion? Whatever the occasion, grab a few friends and get sipping. It’s sure to be a party to remember.
• Romance: Nothing is more romantic than sharing a bottle of bubbly with your sweetheart on a trip out of town.
You know you need to spend more than a day in Ghana to really see it all—and to drink all the wine. Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra
"It was very expensive for what was offered. The first room they offered me was mildewed and dirty. The second room at least didn’t have a horrible stench but was just so-so. For 400 a night I was expecting better service. Check in was slow and my daughter and I were the only people using the pool and they still wouldn’t give us an extra towel when we asked. Also- I had a notarized note to be able to travel with my daughter solo because my spouse had to work. The hotel still wanted a letter specific for their hotel and a copy of her birth certificate. I had never heard of that but they originally said there was no way we could stay on the property and they wanted to send us away at 7 o’clock to try and find a new place. This is after having booked a room at 400 USD a night for 5 nights. So overall my experience wasn’t great but my daughter loved the pool and the breakfast buffet was nice and the service there was excellent."
